This research explores the generational similarities and discrepancies of socio-demographic and housing statuses between young adult children leaving the parental home and their parents. Utilizing the 20th Korean Labour and Income Panel Study (KLIPS), this study identified a total of 609 households who have left their parent home from 1999 to 2017. Two-thirds of the adult children were married couples while the rest was singles. Children's educational level was higher, and their household size was smaller than their parents. Both generations were mainly headed by employed and married men. The vast majority of the adult children lived in the same area with their parents and lived as tenants in much smaller housing than their parents. On the contrary, most parents were homeowners of a large single-family home. The generational differences were clearly observed in housing tenure, housing structure, and housing size. Although leaving parents' home is part of a transition to adulthoods (depending on the stability of the labor market and the affordability in the housing market), that process was largely triggered by the employment status that can lead to economic independence rather than their marital status. Both housing and job opportunities are important factors to determine independent life.
Stroke patient needs rehabilitation after receiving an acute treatment in a hospital. When stroke patient gets involved in an early discharge program, home care nurse plays a pivotal role to make them to gain a full strength and to come back to his/her prior life before he/she is sick. In spite of the importance of home care nursing intervention protocol for home care nurses to perform home care nursing autonomously, home care nursing intervention protocol for stroke patient is rarely developed. Therefore this study was conducted to develop home care nursing protocol that is applicable for stroke patients in home care nursing area. 41 home care nursing charts for stroke patients registered in home care nursing agencies from December 1st 1994 to August 31st 1999 at Y hospitals in Seoul and Won-Ju city were analyzed. 44 home care nurses who were having over three years' experience on stroke patients were participated in this study as a user validity validation group. The results of this study are as follows. 1. 28 nursing diagnoses were selected on the basis of evaluation of nursing diagnoses of stroke patients presented in a previous literature and case studies on home care nursing. 2. 17 nursing diagnoses were classified through the frequency analysis of home care nursing charts for 41 stroke patients who had received home care nursing. The purpose of this study was to analyze the organizational framework and contents of the clothing design section of the middle school textbook of Technology & Home-economics(1) of the revised curriculum in 2009. The scope this study lies in external characteristics such as framework, contents and the like from the Home Economics area of textbooks by seven publishers chosen from those that were authorized by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology in 2012. The result showed that the seven textbooks have the same top Unit 'Juvenile Life' and mid-Unit 'Clothing and Self-expression' but that smaller units were different and diverse in content. In the small unit 'Clothing and Self-expression' of the clothing design section, contents are structured to be put into practice by understanding and exercising the concept; the contents are offered as design theories, clothes design, clothing, and activities/investigation. Hanbok (Korean traditional clothes) clothing was proposed in all textbooks in an order of the right way for Hanbok clothing, names of Hanbok, kinds of Hanbok and the order of wearing Hanbok. Accordingly, this study found the seven textbooks were constructed corresponding to the revised curriculum 2009 for the clothing design section of Technology & Home-economics(1). This study suggests students can build their own insight for viewing society, the country and the world as well as appreciate their own importance in establishing consciousness if they go forward in solving the various problems they face in home life by grafting practical reasoning.
The purpose of this research was to find out the preferences in HMUBs for living space in respondents' later life. For this purpose, this research was conducted by social survey research using a questionnaire for those who lived in an urban area around Seoul. The data was collected from November to December, 2005. The results of this research were as follows. Firstly, respondents agreed with living in high rise mixed use buildings in their later life because of convenience. Willingness to move into HMUBs was positive. Concerning preferred physical features, residents preferred living in either lower floors or higher floors because of safety or fine views. Regarding the usage of common space and facilities, they wanted to use them with other generations and preferred 2 bedroom type unit located in a suburban area. Secondly, the preference for living in a HMUB in later life was higher in women respondents than in men. Thirdly, the preference for living in a HMUB in later life was higher in upper floors than lower floors according to property and asset value. As a conclusion, the development of HMUB housing for older people has a bright prospect for urban residents in Korea.
This study examined the key factors that significantly improved the demand of multi-habitation. It determined the factors at the macroscopic level (or push factors) and the microscopic level (or pull factors). Focusing on a microscopic viewpoint, this study looked at the process of settlement through investigating 78 MH residents in the Seoul metropolitan area. The survey included the questions, such as who they are, how they prepared for moving, and how much they enjoyed their rural lives. In addition, any differences in this process were analyzed depending on respondents' characteristics. Major findings are as follows: First, general macro-level circumstances seemed supportive for the MH lifestyles. Second, six keywords were determined to represent the recent MH trends. They are "semi-sedentism, clustering, young people, female, money, and policy". Third, the distances between the original towns for native residents and new second-home towns for MH residents affected the interactions among them. However, these two groups had better relationships when the second-home towns were apart from the original towns. I then considered the need of a buffer zone between the two residential areas for MH residents. The conceptual difference between MH residents (i.e., semi-sedentism) and original rural residents (i.e., sedentism) might require certain types of buffer zones to continue good relationships among them.

Form both areas modernization of family values was found in support of old parent. 2) Both Seoul and Andong showed the significant difference on family values according to subjects' education and age. In Seoul, the socio-economic level was influential factor in determining subjects' family values. 3) Marital satisfaction was found higher among people living in rural community than in people living in urban community. Since its very important not only to the individual but also to the society for a human being to be content in his surrounding , the reestablishment of the housewives family values should be followed so that other family members may approach the modernized family values.
This study was carried out during the month of September 1976 to analyse and compare the health complaints of two groups of the university women, those who lived at home and those who lived in the university dormitory. The purpose of the study was to provide basic data required by the university health program for planning related to the health need of women students. The study sample consisted of 434 students living in the dormitory and 381 students living at home enrolled for the fall semester 1976 in a womens university in Seoul. The instrument used for the collection of data was an abridged version of a modified Cornell Medical Index. The questionarre included 35 items related to physical health complaint and 22 items related to mental health complaints. The data was treated by a computer (SPSS) using one way analysis, the Fishers' ratio and Chi-Square test at the 5% level were used for the test for statistical significance. The interpretation of this study is limited due to the sample which was restricted to one university and not randomly selected. To guide the direction of the study, it was hypothesized that the rate of expressed health problems of students living in the dormitory would be Venter than that of students living at home. The hypothesis was tested and rejected. The following is a summary of the findings; 1. Total health (physical and mental) complaints a. There was no statistically significant difference between the home and dormitory groups with regard to total health complaints expressed. b. The rate of total complaints expressed by the home group significantly higher than dormitory group only among third year students. c. There was no statistically significant between the home and dormitory groups in their satisfaction with their economic situation. d. The home group showed a significantly higher rate of complaints related to the Nervous System compared to that of the dormitory group. 2. Physical health complaints a. Students living at home showed a significantly higher rate of physical complaints than the dormitory group. b. When the year variable was controlled, the third year was the only group which showed a different rate between home and dormitory groups; the home group presented a higher rate. c. Since the year variable seemed to affect the physical complaints those data were further analysed to see whether the specific system areas were operating as variables in each year. The results were as follow: Among the home group, First year students showed a higher rate in Family History of Disease, while the third year students more Nervous System and Cardiovascular System complaints. Among the dormitory group, only fourth year students showed a higher rate in the Skeletal-Muscular System. This was the only area the dormitory group though only for the fourth year students supported the hypothesis. d. When the economic satisfaction variable was controlled, the satisfied group was the only group which showed a different rate between home and dormitory groups; the home group presented higher rate. e. Since the economic satisfaction variable seemed to affect the physical complaints those data were further analyzed to see whether the specific system areas were operating as variables in each economic satisfaction level, but there was no statistically significant difference between home and dormitory groups. 3. Mental health complaints a. There was no significantly difference between home and dormitory groups with regard to mental health complaints expressed. b. When the year variable was controlled the third year group was the only group which showed a different rate between home and dormitory groups; the home group presented a higher rate. c. Since the year variable seemed to affect the mental complaints, those data were further analyzed to see whether the specific system areas were operatings variables in each economic satisfaction level. The result were as follows: Among the home group, the third year students showed higher rates in Inadequacy and Anxiety. d. When the economic satisfaction variable was controlled, the very satisfied group was the only group which showed a different rate between home and dormitory groups: the home group presented a higher rate. Since the economic satisfaction variable seemed to affect the mental complaints, those data were further analysed to see whether the specific system areas were operating as variables in each economic satisfaction level, but there was no statistical significant difference between the home and dormitory groups. Although the social environment of dormitory life differs from family life, there was no difference in the rate of total health problem complaints between the home and dormitory groups but the home group showed a higher rate of physical health complaints than the dormitory group. Possible positive factors influencing dormitory life and negative factors influencing family life affecting health complaints must be explored in order to relate to the health needs of the university health program. This study could not define the causes for the fewer physical complaints of dormitory students living at home. Further study of such causal factors recommended in order to provide the data needed to contribute to a more effective health program.
