가정과교육에서의 직업역량 강화 방안 탐색을 위한 기초 연구 - NCS 기반 고교 직업교육과정 개정과 가사실업계 직업교육의 변화 방향 탐색 - (Fundamental research to investigate methods of vocational competency enforcement in field of home economics education - revision of the current NCS based vocational highschool education curriculum and investigation in change of direction in vocational home economics education -)

  • 이 연구는 가정과교육에서의 직업역량 강화를 위한 기초연구로서 가정계 직업교육과 관련한 경제 사회적 환경 변화와 운영 현황을 분석하고, 국가직무능력표준(NCS; National Competency Standard) 기반 교육과정 개정과 연계한 교육과정의 변화 방향을 모색하는데 목적을 두었다. 연구 방법은 주로 관련 문헌 및 자료 분석, 전문가 자문 및 공청회 개회 등을 통해 진행되었다. 연구의 주요 결과로는 첫째, 가정계 직업교육과 관련한 주요 환경 변화 요인은 인구 구조의 변화, 성별 경제 활동의 변화, 세대 구성의 변화, 통신 기술의 변화, 생활 기술의 혁신 등으로 집중되었다. 이들 변화 요인은 관련 산업의 혁신과 생활의 변화, 인력의 수요, 각 직무에서 요구하는 역량의 변화 등을 예고하고 있다. 둘째, 가정계 직업교육 운영 현황 분석 결과, 2013년 현재 가사실업계열 학교는 전체 특성화고의 9.4%를 차지했으며, 8개 기준학과가 분야별 전문화, 특성화 및 연계 등을 통해 137개의 개설 학과명으로 운영되고 있었다. 졸업생의 진로현황은, 기준학과별로 차이가 있으나 전체 취업률은 44.7%로 진학률 41.9%보다 높게 나타났으며, 2010년(전체취업률 16.9%, 진학률 75.2%)에 비해 두드러진 변화로 이는 특성화고의 취업중심 교육으로의 정책 변화가 가져온 성과로 해석된다. 셋째, 국가직무능력표준 기반 고교 직업교육과정 개정과 가정계 직업교육의 방향에서는 정부의 능력중심사회 구현을 위한 국가직무능력표준의 개발을 중심으로 한 교육과정 개정 배경, 개정의 방향과 중점 사항을 고찰하고 가사실업계열의 계열 재구조화(안)과 기준학과 개편(안), 후속 연구에서의 전제 사항을 제시하였다.

LEED for Homes의 인증제도 특성 및 인증 후 거주자 만족도 조사 - 미국 사례를 중심으로 - (LEED for Homes Rating System and Resident Satisfaction with LEED-Certified Homes - Focusing on the US Cases -)

  • The major purposes of this study were to analyze main features of US Green Building Council's LEED for Homes rating system and examine residents' satisfaction on their LEED-certified homes and neighborhoods. The first part of this article shows the structure and features of the LEED for Homes rating system and the process to obtain credits of this rating system. The investigation to assess residents' satisfaction targeted LEED certified home residents in Midwest in the United State. The satisfaction was assessed in relation to socio-demographic and housing characteristics. To collect data, a quantitative survey was administered to the residents of LEED-certified homes in Midwest in the US. A total of 605 surveys was sent out and 235 were collected, yielding a 38.8% response rate. Findings revealed that LEED-certified home residents were highly satisfied with their homes and neighborhood although neighborhood satisfaction was lower than housing satisfaction. Residents' income and education were the significant socio-demographic factors that show significant relationships with housing satisfaction. Residents' home ownership, length of residence, housing types were significant housing characteristics on their satisfaction while the levels of LEED certifications (i.e., certified, silver, gold, and platinum) were not significantly related to housing satisfaction. The findings of this study suggest the importance of developing effective strategies for those who are less educated, lower income classes, renters, or multi-attached housing residents for more successful development of LEED-certified homes in the future.

750 kW 풍력발전기의 소음 실증 (Noise Test and Evaluation of a 750 kW Wind Turbine Generator)

  • This study introduces an environmental noise evaluation procedure for wind turbines(W/T) and the evaluation result of a 750 kW wind turbine(W/T) system. Test and evaluation are performed according to the international standard IEC 61400-11 on J48 W/T which is under operation in Daekwanryung W/T test site. With the meteorological data and W/T operational data, noise data are monitored and analysed. An integrated monitoring system is constructed in the test site and is utilized for the evaluation. From the measured noise data, acoustic power level, directivity and tonality of the W/T are estimated under the wind speeds required fly the International standard. The purpose of the study is to establish an W/T noise evaluating system satisfying the international standard and to obtain noise data for home made 750 kW W/T.

  • 최근 사용되는 스마트 홈 시스템은 다양한 환경의 효율성, 편안함, 기능성을 추구한다. 하지만 기존 스마트 홈 시스템에는 실내 채광 조절이 블라인드나 커튼과 같이 사람의 관리가 필요로 한 부분이 적용된다. 본 논문은 이를 보완하고자 현재 자동차 및 항공기에 사용되는 스마트 윈도우처럼 주변 조명 조건에 따라 투명도를 조절할 수 있는 스마트 글라스나 필름 사용을 제안한다. 기존 별도의 관리가 필요한 블라인드, 커튼 등과 달리 창문 자체적으로 외부 채광을 조절하고 실내 조명과 연동하여 자동적으로 실내의 환경을 변화시킨다면 사용자의 경제성과 편의성을 증가시키는 효과를 얻을 것이다.

급수관에서 관재에 따른 부식특성과 미생물 재성장 고찰 (Influence of Pipe Materials on Corrosion and Bacteria Regrowth in A Model Home Plumbing System)

  • This study performed in order to evaluate the effects of pipe materials on corrosion and bacteria regrowth using a laboratory scale batch test. Two varieties of feed water with different microbial conditions were selected: tap water, surface river water (Han River water), and five pipe materials; carbon steel, copper, galvanized iron, stainless steel, and PVC, Carbon steel and galvanized iron pipes showed higher corrosion rates than other materials. In terms of attached bacterial growth, pipes with PVC and stainless steel showed higher bacteria concentration compared to other materials. Pseudomonas vesicularis was the predominant bacteria found on biofilm. The behavior of bacterial growth in the pipes was observed using a scanning electron microscope.

가정 내 낙상으로 인한 아동 손상의 유발 환경 인자에 관한 예비연구 (A Pilot Study on Environmental Factors Contributing to Childhood Home Slip-Down Injuries)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate environmental factors contributing to childhood home slip-down injuries. Methods: Among a total of 2,812 injured children in our Customer Injury Surveillance System (CISS), we performed a prospective study on 262 children with home slip-down injuries who visited the pediatric emergency department of Asan Medical Center between March 2008 and February 2009. We made a frequency analysis on parameters such as activities just before the accident, the presence of any obstacles or lubricant materials, specific home place in the home where the injuries occurred, flooring materials on which the slip-down happened, additional objects hit after slip down, the site and kind of injury, the duration of therapy, and the disposition. Results: Walking was the most common activity just before the injury. Because rooms and bathrooms were most common places in the home for slip down injuries, laminated papers/ vinyl floor coverings and tiles were the most common flooring materials used in the places where the injuries occured. Most commonly, no obstacles caused the children to slip down, but the furniture, stairs, doorsills, wetness, or soapy fluid followed after that. Over half of the children who slipped (58%) also collided with other than the floor itself after the slip-down, most common objects hit were the edges of the furniture, and doorsills, followed by stairways. The head and neck were the most commonly injured sites, and a laceration was the most common kind of injury. Most children needed less than 1 week of therapy, only 4 children (1.53%) admitted. There were no mortalities. Conclusion: The environmental factors contributing to slip-down injuries were the bathroom, laminated papers/vinyl floors, the furniture, stairs, doorsills, and wetness or soapy fluid. Especially, the furniture, stairs, and doorsills can be both primary obstacles and secondary collision objects. For the safety of our children, we must consider these factors on housing, when decorating or remodeling our house.

Development of an Optimized Feature Extraction Algorithm for Throat Signal Analysis

  • In this paper, we present a speech recognition system using a throat microphone. The use of this kind of microphone minimizes the impact of environmental noise. Due to the absence of high frequencies and the partial loss of formant frequencies, previous systems using throat microphones have shown a lower recognition rate than systems which use standard microphones. To develop a high performance automatic speech recognition (ASR) system using only a throat microphone, we propose two methods. First, based on Korean phonological feature theory and a detailed throat signal analysis, we show that it is possible to develop an ASR system using only a throat microphone, and propose conditions of the feature extraction algorithm. Second, we optimize the zero-crossing with peak amplitude (ZCPA) algorithm to guarantee the high performance of the ASR system using only a throat microphone. For ZCPA optimization, we propose an intensification of the formant frequencies and a selection of cochlear filters. Experimental results show that this system yields a performance improvement of about 4% and a reduction in time complexity of 25% when compared to the performance of a standard ZCPA algorithm on throat microphone signals.

Rainwater Harvesting System as an Alternative Water Source

  • The objectives of this study were to install RCR systems at a typical single family house and a school in Alabama, and evaluate the feasibility and efficiency of using the RCR systems for water harvesting in Alabama. The RCR systemswere equipped with a control system and a CR10X data logger to monitor the system operation and to collect data on precipitation, temperature, overflow, water depth in the storage tank and daily uses of toilet flushing. Daily average water use of the home for toilet flushing was 95 liter and 2100 liter was used at the school during the school days. Rainwater harvesting efficiency was 83.3 and 89 percent and RCR use efficiency was 18 and 98 percent from the home and the school, respectively. A computer program was developed to estimate potential effectiveness of RCR systems. From the analysis result with 10 years rainfall data, a total of 67,000 liters of rainwater could be harvested for domestic uses from a typical single family house which supplies 190 liters per day.

  • Model house play an important role in the sale of apartments. However, model house can create social and environmental problems. Virtual reality's (VR) use for the creation of model house has been studied as a possible counter measure to these problems. Existing models don't satisfy consumers' queries. A virtual model house can give the experience of seeing a real home through simulation. Also, a virtual model house can allow a home buyer to change the furniture on display or the color of the walls to reflect the consumer's taste in the construction. The internal present condition system using absorption style virtual reality and open style virtual reality are the indispensable tools that are going to take the place of the current model home. A virtual model house is more profitable than a physical model house because of reduced costs and time savings. In addition, a virtual model house can offer new kinds of information that a physical model home can not. This study's purpose is to discuss the desired direction of the virtual model house in this crucial and dynamic period of development.

환경교육에서 과학적 지식과 윤리적 가치의 관계 (Thre Relationaship of Scientific Knowledge and Ethical Value in Environmental Education)

  • The objective of this study was to review the meaning and problems of Scientific Knowledge and Ethical Value in Environmental Education. The ultimate goal of environmental education is shaping proenvironmental human behavior. The factors of human behavioral decision making are ideology, value, attitude and behavioral intentions. Ideology is a kind of belief system used by social groups to interpret their social world. The main elements of belief system are knowledge and value. The traditional thinking in education has been that we can change behavior by making human beings more knowledgeable and more valuable. In environmental education, the aim of scientific inquiry is to analysis cause-effect relation of human beings behavior and environmental phenomenon, and ethical education is to change the mind of human beings from zero-sum to positive-sum about the relations between human beings and natural environments. But, there are many problems of knowledge education and value education in environmental education. For example scientific knowledge without ethical value is dangerous to environment protection, and ethical value without scientific knowledge is vague. Therefore, we must recognize that the relationship of ethical value and scientific knowledge is not substitutional but complementary. The teaching-learning methods which can integrate knowledge and value in environmental education are rational decision making model. For this model, we can construct teaching contents with inquiry materials. To earn the benefits of specialization among several subjects in environmental education, social studies can focus on social science knowledge and decision making, science education can focus on pure natural science knowledge and scientific investigation, moral education can focus on problems of ethical value system, home economics can focus on practical action and environmental education(Environments in middle school, Ecology and Environments in high school) can integrate social-national science knowledge and ethical value in broad perspective about human beings and ecosystem. That is the method to protect from law of diminishing marginal utility of learning in environmental education.
