Orthopraxia & Dermatology in traditional Korean medicine has taken a large part of our medicine from the ancient times. However, studies that have been carried out so far were mainly concerned with specific disease or treatment but studies on the history of orthopraxia & dermatology in traditional Korean medicine have not been done largely. Subsequently, it is confirmed that diseases belonging to the category of orthopraxia & dermatology in traditional Korean medicine are carried with no less weight in the books other than literatures specialized in orthopraxia & dermatology while Korean medical literature is being researched with interests in the history of orthopraxia & dermatology in traditional Korean medicine. This paper mainly introduced and analyzed medical literatures containing diseases in orthopraxia & dermatology among Korean medical literatures which were classified into books on emergency measures, general medical documents and surgically specialized records prior to DongUiBoGam.
Objectives : This study was carried out to know the status of clinical utilization of Korean medical knowledge and the Korean medical knowledge system which Korean medical doctors want. Methods : Questionnaires were distributed to Korean medical doctors registered for the Association of Korean medicine via the email and 249 answered questionnaires were analyzed. Results : 50.6 % of Korean medical doctors utilized the textbooks for Korean medicine when they treated their patients. The reason why they did not utilize the textbooks for Korean medicine was mostly that 'it could not be applied directly into clinical application with only contents of textbook because clinical approach (diagnosis and treatment methods) was not clearly described in the textbook'. 48.6 % of Korean medical doctors utilized the EBM materials when they treated their patients. EBM materials that they referred included domestic articles, other EBM materials excluding papers and international academic papers based on PubMed in order. The reasons why they did not utilize the EBM materials were mostly that 'it was difficult to find the evidence' and 'EBM materials were not actually helpful for the clinical practice.' It was found that Korean medical doctors approached the disease in aspects of Korean and Western Medicine concurrently upon the diagnosis of patients and performed the diagnosis and treatment of Korean medicine on the diseases which seemed to be effective with Korean medicine. It was also found that they thought that they needed to know the Western medical knowledge as much as general doctors who have a doctor's license or family medicine specialists who comprehensively treat the general diseases know. Korean medical doctors wanted to have the systematic summary of modern research performance in fields of acupoint, acupuncture, herbal drugs and formula. They thought that constitutional medicine and Sa-am acupuncture therapy were representative characteristics in Korean medicine differentiated from Traditional Chinese medicine and Kampo medicine. Conclusions : Korean medical doctors wanted to establish the Korean medical knowledge system based on evidence focusing on clinical and practical contents. New Korean medical knowledge system should be established based on these requirements in the future.

In Korea, the function of Jeong(亭), Jeongja(亭子), and Nujeong(樓亭) architecture is essentially rest. However, in China, where the name Jeong was first coined and used, Jeong was not only used as a place of rest, but also for a variety of functions depending on the time and region, such as building units for guard posts, policing, and mail delivery. But why is it that in Korea, Jeong is primarily perceived and used as place of rest? Starting from this question, this article examines the historical process of the emergence of Jeong and its changing functions, focusing on the official history of China, and then examines the perception of Jeong in Korea through its connection to the dominant function of Jeong in China during the period of Jeong's emergence in Korean literature. This will help us to fundamentally understand the differences between Jeong architecture in Korea and Jeong architecture in China, and to further clarify the historical significance of the types of Jeongja and Nujeong architecture in Korea.

Objectives : As the number of patient with dementia increases, interest in mild cognitive impairment (MCI), which is a pre-dementia stage, has been expanding. In this study, we investigated the effects from selected clinical research articles to evaluate the effectiveness of non-pharmacological interventions. Methods : We searched MCI related articles on MEDLINE and the Web of Science using keywords related to MCI. We selected 26 articles, and 13 evaluated efficiency using the Jadad score. Results : Physical exercise and cognitive remediation techniques were effective for improving MCI. Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation, taichi, and music belonged to "perhaps" effectiveness group. Many of the 13 articles that evaluated MCI using the Jadad score evaluated them as "good" or "poor", and only three articles evaluated MCI as "excellent". Conclusions : The present evidence suggests that cognitive remediation techniques to improve memory and physical exercise were effective for people with MCI. However, further studies are needed to identify the physical exercise effects.

Gyeongbokgungdo depicts the composition and layout of Gyeongbokgung Palace before the Japanese Invasion of Korea in 1592, as well as a monument related to pro-jamrye held at the site of Gyeongbokgung Palace in Yeongjo. Based on literature such as Dongguk Yeoji Seungram, such as Gyeongbokgungdo painted major buildings, government offices, and buildings in the backyard. In addition, the literature and the foot of the mountain, waterway, and Pond, which were identified as the site identified during the reconstruction process, are reflected, and some of the Gyeongbokgungdo contain reconstruction records. As such, Gyeongbokgungdo depicts Gyeongbokgung Palace in the early Joseon Dynasty and facilities built after the Imjin War based on the literature, and seems to have been produced around the time of reconstruction as it reflects the mountain and water system. In addition, the layout of the main hall of Gyeongbokgungdo was partially reflected in the reconstructed Gyeongbokgung Palace and used as a material to understand the layout of Gyeongbokgung Palace in the early Joseon Dynasty.
This study focuses on the contents about the Urinalysis which is the most representative one of the Tibetan medicine. Also, this study compares it with the Urinalysis of Traditional Korean medicine. This study focuses on the simple history, the theoretical system, the diagnosis and the urinalysis mainly based on the documents related to the Tibetan medicine. Also, through the comparison with the contents of textbook of Traditional Korean Medicine and the urinalysis shown in the Dongeuibogam(東醫寶鑑) which is the representative Korean medical book, the difference between Tibetan Medicine and Traditional Korean Medicine will be observed. The contents related about the urinalysis of the Tibetan medicine are more specific than those of Traditional Korean Medicine. By observing the color, scent, vapor and sediment of one's urine together with periodic changes more thoroughly, it is possible to find out the cause of a certain disease. However, Traditional Korean Medicine examines the medical conditions mainly based on the state of discharge and fever, showing a clear difference. The Tibetan medicine has an extremely specific type of urinalysis in comparison with that of Traditional Korean Medicine. It is the only characteristic of the Tibet medicine, which cannot be found in any other traditional medicine. By applying the viewpoint of the doctor who diagnoses the patient by measuring his or her pulse, it is possible to make the diagnosing process more specific and accurate. It is expected that the follow-up study will be continuously executed with the introduction of the system for the urinalysis of the Tibetan medicine to Traditional Korean medicine.
