  • One of the historical origins of the modern science education was investigated in this paper. From the view point of the pansophistic educational philosophy which emphasized "man should teach completely all things to all mankind(Omnes, Omnia, omnino)", J.A.Comenius proposed in his book "Didactica magna"(1658) that 'physica' should be learned as one of the most important school subjects. He suggested the completion of human being as a wholeness of the universe could be achieved through the physics teaching. His ideas of science education was, however, directed not to the 'rational konwledge' about the natural world, but to the 'divine wisdom'. His main thoughts and influences on science education can be summarized as follows: 1) The human being as a God's image should know the divinely created nature, because the invisible God's existence can be sensorially recognized in the nature. 2) Physics or science should be regarded as more important objects than verbal learning in general school education. 3) The cognitive union between the words('representative' or 'das Dargestellte') and things('presentative' or 'das Dargebotene') can be achieved through the objects lesson ('Anschauungsunterricht') 4) The realistic and sensor-cognitive learning theory of the object lesson is yet very important especially in the science education of elementary school, even though the inquiry learning process has became more important in the last years. 5) The religious aspect of his idea could not satisfy the social needs of industrialization and the development of professonal technics in the 18 to 19th century.

We also provide suggestions regarding the further development of techno music.

  • Costume in movies are used as an instrument to signify the personality image and status of characters, and even the main theme of movie itself. The purpose of this paper is to verify the feministic meaning of bloomer costume used in movie, 「OSCAR and LUCINDA」. The bloomer costume was anti-fashion in crinoline period, when women was normally not allowed to put on trousers. To achieve the purpose, I used content analysis to obtain meanings from existing literature and video tapes(including, slides and pictures). Bloomer costume, introduced by Mrs. Amelia Bloomer at 1850s, is an antifashion to express women's right to wear trousers that were exclusively used by men since the medieval age. In this sense, bloomer costume itself is a costume expressing values of women's emancipation movement. In 「OSCAR and LUCINDA」, heroine, Lucinda, with bloomer costume is described as a woman who has strong motivation toward work, who actively looks for a man she loves, and who has freewill to involve herself in what she wants, even gambling. This is not surprising in a sense that Lucinda's bloomer costumes itself signifies the meanings of feminism. I found that bloomer costume was well described in the movie from the historical point of view. But some details, including type of trousers, were expressed without strict historical evidence. Overall, it is certain that 「OSCAR and LUCINDA」, with a heroine wearing bloomer costume was a big step towards women's emancipation in movies.

At this point, in celebration of the officially appointed "year of mathematics", it is very meaningful to demonstrate the importance of mathematics with a historical drama about mathematics and mathematicians of the Joseon Dynasty. In this article, the reasons for production of historical dramas about mathematics and mathematicians in the Joseon Dynasty was presented in two ways. • This research aims for suggesting the significance and approaching method of historical study in health law in light of its historical progress and fundamental understanding of jurisprudential method. Historical research method of health law primarily targets to investigate the changes of the law in historical circumstances. In a further practical view point, however, the purpose of the study is to understand the 'current' system of health law appropriately. In addition, historical study enables us to recognize the fact that many systems related to health law are connected and interactive. The study can even function as an important reference when designing future health law system. Therefore, health law researchers have to investigate ideological, philosophical, political, economic, or social reasons of why such rules were legislated beyond a mere confirmation of past forms of the health law system. In other words, it is not only important to understand the provisions of past health law but also to examine how the regulations have formed, how they established the regulatory power in reality. Identifying how the rule of law had been executed in the reality of law is also a crucial part of historical study.

And the architectural prospects of the use of GUDUL on the point of view of environmental ecology. The data of relationship between the mechanic properties and the workability of GUDUL materials and the environmental index such as the heating environment, relative humidity, and deodorization ratio and so on. And the heating effectiveness of GUDUL was compared with existing modem materials by experimental analysis. • In this study the interpretive perspective means a point of view on educational curriculum in which in order to reach the understanding of the meaning of the behaviors and beliefs of human beings, and the historical and cultural products, the process of discussing on the basis of historical and cultural knowledge is very important. The developed curriculum means the one that consists of the goal of the curriculum, the contents of the curriculum, lesson plans, and the instruction-learning materials. This study has been carried out in four steps: conceptualization, development, application and evaluation. This study has tried to propose some changes in the contents of clothing life education on the basis of the interpretive perspective by firstly, assuming some core concepts that were related to clothing life education in Home Economics and secondly, organizing the contents of the clothing life culture area based upon historical and cultural materials. The results of the application of the developed curriculum came out positive. The strong points of the developed curriculum showed that for the students the curriculum was helpful in seeking answers to such questions as 'who I am' and 'what kind of being I am' through the perception of traditional culture and clothing life. In addition, the developed learning contents were recognized as new knowledge. It also showed that teaching contents with a focus on the interpretive perspective could play a role as reflection for the practice and for the arrival at the final perception. A weak point of the developed curriculum is that the Home Economics teachers themselves might find difficulty preparation for teaching this material because of their limited understanding and knowledge of the historical and cultural materials about clothing life.

  • Settings of traditional shrines and their Surroundings are seemed to be one of the typical life-cultural designs realized on land in urban or rural area in Japan. It can be said that those settings are some reflections of nature-oriented cosmology established in long term history of ordinary people. Examining those settings and making clear their characteristics could be a significant issue of landscape architecture for discussing sustainable ways of urbanism or regional development. In this paper, the author examined and discussed the shrine settings from a view point of their spatial relation with surrounding water system. Based on the surveys on more than 60 local shrines in northern area of Tokyo, it was revealed that many shrines have strong connections to surrounding waters or low lands with downward-oriented worshipping to nature instead of upward-oriented worshipping well known as general location of shrine. It is believed that the result shows the diversity of landscape settings of shrines as historical life-culture, and the varieties has to be conserved or restored in various ways of urban design or regional planning.
