차세대 고속철도 신호제어시스템의 실험 기본설계 (Design of New Signaling System Test Bench for High Speed Rail)

  • The railway signaling system consists of microcomputerized vital devices on board and ground, which are connected to one another by track circuits, and interlocking equipment for route control, The software plays a major role in these microcomputer-based vital systems. Therefore it is important to design the software and validate the required levels of safety and reliability To verify the conditions and functions of signaling logic, the laboratory prototype test bench, which consists of personal computers, VME system and Ethernet LAN, will be developed. In this paper general design of signaling system test bench for high-speed rail is described and some developed subprogram is presented.

대륙철도 연결 및 기존선 고속화를 위한 CTCS 개발 (A Development on CTCS for the Inter-linkage of Trans-Continental Railways and Speed-up on Existing Lines)

  • Railway is an important transportation tool for nation's industrial development and public daily life. These days the concern about railway has remarkably been rising due to the April 2004 opening of KTX, Korea High Speed Rail, together with Trans-Continental Railways linking North Korea, China, Russia, through European countries. In the meantime, the issues of train safety and efficiency, arising from the different on-board signaling systems installed on different kinds of trains, have been raised incessantly. In this paper CTCS(Continental Train Control System) is suggested, which can accommodate such various signaling functions as ATP, ATC, ATS, etc. into one single type of on-board signaling system and operate without changing ground signaling systems on the junctions of the Trans-Continental Railways. The development of this CTCS would cause speed-up of exiting lines and possession of railway core solutions for establishing Northeast Asia logistics center bases, which could be an important cornerstone for domestic railway improvements and Korea's role of Northeast Hub.

고속 듀오바이너리 송수신단 설계기술 동향 (Recent Trends on High-Speed Duobinary Transceiver Architecture)

  • 본 논문에서는 데이터 전송 속도를 제한하는 채널의 대역폭 문제를 해결하기 위한 방법으로 널리 사용되는 고속 듀오바이너리(duobinary) 송수신단 설계기술 동향을 서술한다. 고속 전송 환경에서는 전송 신호의 주파수가 채널의 대역폭보다 커지게 되어 신호의 손실이 극심해지는 문제가 생긴다. 듀오바이너리 신호는 같은 전송속도를 가지는 Non-Return-to-Zero 신호와 비교했을 때 수식적으로 더 낮은 주파수 대역폭을 가진다. 따라서 고주파 신호일수록 손실정도가 커지는 실제 데이터 채널 환경에서 듀오바이너리 신호기법을 사용함으로써 신호 손실을 효과적으로 줄일 수 있다. 이러한 듀오바이너리 신호기법의 수학적 분석과 더불어 듀오바이너리 신호기법을 고속 송수신단 설계에 적용한 여러 방법들에 대해 탐구한다.

  • 본 논문은 High-speed signal에 대한 기본적인 설계 방법론, Differential signaling, Impedence matching, Decoupling Method 등에 대하여 논한 후 High-speed signal 의 전송 품질을 개선하기 위한 GND via 의 효과에 대하여 논하고자 한다. S-parameter simulation 및 실제 제품 적용 후 파형의 변화를 관찰하여 GND via 의 효용성을 살펴보아 High-speed signal Design 할 때 Design limitation 상황에 대해 적절한 방법론을 말하고자 한다.

Therefore it is important to validate the required functions of developed system and interface between developed signaling systems. To verify the conditions and functions of signaling logic, the laboratory prototype test bench, which consists of personal computers with software module and Ethernet LAN, will be developed. Transition-limited pulse-amplitude modulation technique for high-speed wireline communication systems

  • This paper presents a transition-limited pulse-amplitude modulation (TLPAM) signaling method to enable a high data rate and robust wireline communications. TLPAM signaling addresses the impact of high intersymbol interference (ISI) ratios in conventional M-ary PAM signaling methods by limiting the maximum voltage transition level between adjacent symbols. The implementation of a TLPAM signaling encoder is realized by setting back the most significant bits (MSBs) in the queue. The correlation between TLPAM's maximum transition level, effective data rate, and eye width/height is analyzed with various channel loss parameters, followed by characterization and measurement results with a realistic channel setup. The analysis and experimental results reveal the effectiveness of the proposed TLPAM signaling scheme for achieving a high data rate with minimal interference.

전차선로 속도향상에 따른 오버랩 구간(Overlap section) 경간 구성 기법 (Research on Configuration Optimization of Overlap Section in Overhead Catenary System for High-speed Railway)

  • Overhead catenary system of electric railway has overlap sections which devide and tighten trolley wire supplying electric power to train, where current collection performances may become worse according to railway speed-up. Current collection tests conducted at 400 km/h test-bed section of Honam high-speed railway show that balanced line arrangement at overlap section is needed to secure current collection without arc generation between trolley wire and train current collection device. This paper proposes a design procedure of the overlap section to allow for tension increase and uplift of the trolley wires according to railway speed-up. By applying the proposed procedure to the overhead catenary system of Honam high-speed railway, it is suggested that the minimum span length should be 33.2 m for railway speed-up to 350 km/h and 43.7 m for speed-up to 400 km/h.

고속 LVDS 응용을 위한 전송선 분석 및 설계 최적화 (Analysis and Design Optimization of Interconnects for High-Speed LVDS Applications)

  • 본 논문에서는 고속 저전압 차동 신호(Low-Voltage Differential Signaling, LVDS) 전송방식의 응용을 위한 전송선 분석 및 설계 최적화 방법을 제안한다. 차동 전송 경로 및 저전압 스윙 방법의 발전으로 인해 저전압 차동 신호 전송방식은 데이터 통신 분야, 고 해상도 디스플레이 분야, 평판 디스플레이 분야에서 매우 적은 소비전력, 개선된 잡음 특성 및 고속 데이터 전송률을 제공한다. 본 논문은 차동 유연성 인쇄 회로 보드(flexible printed circuit board, FPCB) 전송선에서 선 폭, 선 두께 및 선간격과 같은 전송선 설계 변수들의 최적화 기법을 이용하여 직렬 접속된 전송선에서 발생하는 임피던스 부정합과 신호 왜곡을 감소시키기 위해 개선 모델과 개발된 수식을 제안한다. 이러한 차동 FPCB 전송선의 고주파 특성을 평가하기 위해 주파수 영역에서 전파(full-wave) 전자기 시뮬레이션 및 시간 영역 시뮬레이션을 각각 수행하였다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 방법은 저전압 차동 신호 방식의 응용을 위한 고속 차동 FPCB 전송선을 최적화하는데 매우 도움이 되리라 믿는다.

  • Railway signaling safety system organizes equipments and facilities of railway, increases transport efficiency and assures safe operation of railway. In the early days of signaling system railway managers made sure of safety by using relay logic technology based on fail-safe concept. But the development result of computer and science having been introduced to railway industry, railway signaling equipments begin to be operated through micro electronic control system. Accordingly high speed and high density operation of train became possible. Software reliability and safety technology that controls important systems of railway was highlighted. In the middle of 1990s the standard or guideline of railway reliability and safety were studied and established, and are being reviewing in Europe, Japan etc. Our reliability and safety technology have depended largely on foreign countries. In this study we performed a basic study about the reliability of software that controls the railway signaling system.

신교통시스템의 교차로 제어기술연구 (Study of control technical of cross load at New traffic system)

  • In comparison with different mass transportation systems, the streetcar is lower, both in speed and transportation capacity. However, it has the advantage of reducing the cost of construction, because it makes infrastructure simple, by using the road. It is proper in the city, where the population is few, to raise the efficiency of traffic. The convenience is high to passengers. On time accuracy and the commercial speed is influenced by operating condition. Generally that is organized into 21m degree in 6 quantity. All passengers in a streetcar are about 180 people. The maximum speed is 40~60km/h. When road traffic is considered, the speed can be reduced to 15km/h. To enhance the speed, the construction of a priority signaling system is necessary which is integrated with the road traffic operation information system. In order to develop a better Traffic Control System which is connected to a Traffic Control Center, a Priority Signaling System which incorporates Intersection Control Technics must be included.
