  • The high Tc phase disappeared and low Tc phase increased in the substitution of transistion elements for Bi ions. The high Tc phase decreased in the substitution of Si and Sn for Bi ions. The high Tc phase increased in the substitution of Sb, As and P Which Were the same group of Bi for Bi ions. The substitution of P ions was the most effective and then the high Tc phase was formed in large quantity by replacing Bi ions with 30%of P ions.

  • High Tc oxide superconductor with a Tc above 100 K has been successfully prepared by solid state reaction method in added-Pb BiSrCaCuO system. As compared with 123 compound, the formation reaction of the high Tc requires long time heat treatment. It is due to the transformation from the low Tc phase to high Tc phase. The sintering just below the melting point of the calcined powder mixture is effective on the formation of the high Tc phase in BiSrCaCuO system to be added with Pb. The growth of the high Tc superconducting phase has a thin plate shape, which is characterized by the c parameter of 37${\AA}$. The formation kinetics is also investigated in the samples with different Bi/Pb ratio and the 30% Pb addition is most preferable for the formation of the high Tc phase. The formation of the high Tc phases is delayed by the excessive addition of Pb. The lattice parameter(c) of the unit cell(both the low and high Tc phases) is increased with increase of Pb.

A study on the eddy current losses on the high-Tc superconducting power cable system

  • The structure of a high-Tc superconducting power cable system is composed of these parts; (from the outer section) a liquid nitrogen cryostat, a vacuum cryostat, multi-layer high-Tc superconducting cable cores and a stabilizer and both cryostats during the stable operating period of the high-Tc superconducting power cable system are calculated by the numerical method. And the optimal conditions of the stabilizer and both cryostats, that minimize the eddy current losses, are derived from the analyzed results. The optimal results can be applied to the design and manufacture of the high-Tc superconducting power cable system.

수원지역 성인 남성들의 혈청지질 수준에 영향을 미치는 요인 (Effects of Factors on Serum Lipid Levels in Suwon Adult Males)

  • This study was performed to find and compare the characteristics of dietary factors and obesity indices on serum lipid profiles using 407 healthy adult males that had physical examinations conducted at the general hospital located in Suwon. The subjects were divided 56.3% for the normal group, 16.7% for TG, 14.5% for TC and 12.5% for TC TG group, respectively. When comparing the blood lipid profiles to normal group, TC group was high in both total cholesterol and LDL-cholesterol, TG group was high in triglyceride and low in HDL-cholesterol, TC TG group was high in triglyceride, total cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol and low in HDL-cholesterol. In comparison of blood lipid profiles with normal group, among anthropometric factors, body weigh, BMI (Body Mass Index) and WHR (Waist Hip Ratio) showed significant differences. TC group was high in both total cholesterol and LDL-cholesterol, and TG group was high in triglyceride and low in HDL-cholesterol. TC TG group was high in triglyceride, total cholesterol and LDL-cholesterol, and was low in HDL-cholesterol. Body weigh of TG group was significantly higher than that of normal group (p<0.05). BMI and WHR of TG group and TC TG group were significantly higher than those of normal group (p<0.05). Total cholesterol was mainly related to the intake of animal lipids and alcoholic beverage. Serum triglyceride levels were closely related with lipid intake and high BMI in this group. In TC TG group, BMI and WHR were high. As well, serum LDL-cholesterol was high and HDL-cholesterol was low which indicates TC TG group had the most undesirable blood lipid profiles. Therefore, it may be necessary to manage BMI and WHR to prevent hyperlipidemia and obesity for adult males in Suwon.

  • We prepared hish T$_c$ Josephson junctions that have different I$_c\;'s$ and R$_n\;'s$ and studied their microwave properties. We measured the current-voltage characteristics of the junctions under the irradiation of 22 GHz electromagnetic wave at various temperatures. from the Shapiro steps, we calculated the maximum detectable frequency and the microwave received power of the junctions. Increasing critical current values increase both maximum detectable frequency and sensitivity. However, increasing temperature increase sensitivity but decrease maximum detectable frequency.

  • A high Tc superconducting with a nominal composition of $Bi_2Sr_2Ca_2Cu_3O_y$ was prepared by the citarte method. The solid precursor produced by the dehydration of the gel at $120^{\circ}C$ for 12h is not in the amorphous state as expected but in a crystalline state X-ray diffraction peaks of nearly the same angular position as the peaks of high Tc phase were observed in the precursor. After pyrolysis at $400^{\circ}C$ and calcination at $840^{\circ}C$ for 4h, the (001)peak of the high Tc phase was cleary observed. Experimental results suggest that the intermediate phase formed before the formation of the superconducting phase may be the most important factor in determining whether it is easy to form the high Tc phase or not, because the nucleation bafflers of the two superconducting phase may be altered by the variation of the crystal structures of those Intermediate phase.

  • The purpose of this paper is to find the magnetic filed distribution inside the motor in order to find out if the high-Tc superconducting tapes operate stably in actual motor operation in a detailed model of the actual motor was analyzed through F.E.M.(finite Element Method). As a result, it has been proved that the high-Tc superconducting tapes can with-stand 4 A of current with staility. 4 A was the amount of current with stability. 4 A was the amount of current needed to achieve 600 A·turns which is required by the previous simulation aimed at developing this the flux damper reduces armature reactance during the motor operation. But it was observed that the flux damper generates loss by means of leakage flux and this decreases the output of the motor by about 5%.
