새고막(Scapharca subcrenata)의 각 조직별 일반성분의 계절변동 (Seasonal Variation of Proximate Composition in Ark Shell (Scapharca subcrenata) Tissues)

  • In order to investigate the appropriate processing season and the production of high value-added products in ark shell(Scapharca subcrenata) cultured at the south coast of Korea, the foot muscle, mantle, and adductor muscle were analyzed for moisture, protein, fat, ash, and glycogen using specimens collected bimonthly from December 1994 to December 1995. The contents of moisture in foot muscle and mantle increased in spring season, however their proteins decreased in same season. Glycogen and fat in foot muscle, mantle, and adductor muscle were most abundant in June, just before the spawning season, but all the cmponsnts dwindled during spawning season. The other hand, the contents of ash in tissues were almost the same level through the year. Thus, the contents of moisture, protein, fat, and glycogen were almost the same level through the year. Thus, the contents of moisture, protein, aft, and glycogen were fluctuated by season. Especially, they showed a marked seasonal variation at before and after sparning season. So, a major cause of seasonal variation in S. subcrenata would be connected with a period of reproduction and spawning season.

Agricultural cooperation among the North-East Asian countries

  • The following four aspects should be examined in detail to revitalize North-East Asian agricultural cooperation specialized with Korea, Japan, and China. First, quality and safety standards of agricultural food should be unified. Secondly, it is necessary to build a food security cooperative system in North-East Asia. If three countries build the system, they can overcome a problem such as unstable supply and demand due to natural disaster, and also they can cope with food crisis. Thirdly, to establish North-East Asian Agro-valley is needed. After forming food production belt that connects Korea, Hokkaido in Japan, and the three north-eastern provinces in China, it is possible to realize high value-added agriculture with producing and processing of complementary food for partner country. Lastly, trilateral FTA negotiations should be managed carefully with operating the agricultural special zone and exclusion or prolong period of removal of tariff on sensitive items.

  • In case of high-tech process industries such as semiconductor and TFT-LCD manufactures, fault of a virtually finished product that is value-added one, since it has gone throughout the most of processes, may give rise to quality cost nearly amount to its selling price and can be a main cause that decreases the efficiency of manufacturing process. This paper proposes a real-time dispatching algorithm for semiconductor manufacturing process with rework. In order to evaluate the proposed algorithm, this paper examines the performance of the proposed method by comparing it with that of the existing dispatching algorithms, based on various experimental data.

Improved Ectoine Production from Methane by Optimization of the Bio-milking Process in Engineered Methylomicrobium alcaliphilum 20Z

  • Methane is one of the major greenhouse gases, recently, the biotechnological conversion from methane to high-value added chemicals have emerged as an effort to reduce methane gas emission. In this study, we optimized ectoine bio-milking conditions in which cells were repeatedly used to improve intracellular and extracellular ectoine yield from methane by using Methylomicrobium alcaliphilum 20ZDP2. First, the cultivation and intracellular ectoine accumulation conditions were optimized with respect to the growth phase and medium salinity to achieve the highest yield of synthesis. Second, ectoine excretion was optimized by determining the ectoine secretion time (15 min) in appropriate medium salinity under hypoosmotic conditions (1% NaCl). Finally, bio-milking of ectoine was successfully repeated more than 10 times using M. alcaliphilum 20ZDP2, and the ectoine yield was improved up to 129.29 mg/ DCW g.

고정상 Tolypocladium inflatum균의 세포성장 지속성과 Cyclosporin A 생산성 향상 (Sustained Cell Growth and Improved Cyclosporin A Production Capablity of Immobilized Tolypocladium Inflatum Cells)

  • Cyclosporin A(Cy A) 생산을 위한 회분식 생물 반응기 실험에서, 고정상세포를 이용함으로써 액상 배양과 비교할 때 생물공정 개선의 가능성이 있음을 제시하였다. 고농도 배지를 생산균주가 지수기 생장단계인 발효개시 후 139시간에 첨가하였을 때, 고정상배양과 액상배양 모두에서, 균주의 재활성 및 재생장으로 인해 CyA의 생산기간이 연장되어, 발효개시 후 250시간까지 최대 CyA 농도를 유지하였다. 반면에 배지의 첨가가 없는 단순 회분식 배양의 경우, 두 경우 모두 정체생장 단계에서 CyA의 생산성이 빠른 속도로 감소하였다. 주목할 점은 고정상 세포의 경우 CyA수율($Y_{p/x}$)이 고농도 배지를 첨가한 후에도 지수기때의 수율의 80%에 이르는 높은 값을 계속 유지할 수 있었으나, 이와는 대조적으로 액상 세포는 단지 58%만을 유지할 수 있었다. 그 결과 고정상배양의 최대 CyA생산성 이 액상배양과 비교하여 약 2배 정도 증가하였다.

영화산업의 경제적 파급효과 분석 (Estimation of Economic Value of the Film Industry in the National Economy)

  • 영화산업은 고부가가치 문화산업이며, 한 나라의 문화에 대한 척도로서 국민들의 자긍심을 높여주는 산업으로 반드시 육성해야 하는 전략산업 중의 하나이다. 그러나 영화산업의 중요성과 가치에 대한 국가적인 공감대의 형성 부족과 영화산업을 국가 전략산업으로서의 가치 인식의 미미로 인하여 영화산업의 발전에 큰 어려움을 겪고 있다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기위해 본 연구는 한국은행의 2009년 산업연관표에서 영화제작 및 배급, 영화상영 등 2개 부문만을 영화산업으로 한정하고 새로이 영화 산업연관표를 작성, 활용하여 영화산업의 경제적 효과를 분석하였다. 연구 결과 다음과 같다. 영화산업의 총생산유발액은 82.8조원이며, 특히 영화산업 산업(영화제작 및 배급부문과 영화상영 부문)의 생산유발계수는 2.324(2.240, 2.478), 감응도계수 0.825(0.825, 0.501),영향력계수 1.163(1.121, 1.240), 부가가치유발계수는 0.884(0.479, 0.547), 소득유발계수 0.454(0.211, 0.236), 생산세유발계수 0.110(0.090, 0.146) 그리고 노동유발계수 0.017(0.014,0.022)등을 보여주고 있다.

경종작물분야의 델파이 기술예측조사 (Survey for Technology Forecasting for Crop Production using Delphi Method)

  • 델파이법을 이용한 본 연구는 한국농업의 미래 유망기술을 예측$.$도출하기 위하여 시도되었다. 이 미래유망기술을 토대로 우리나라의 농업은 고부가가치를 지닌 2떼기의 핵심전략산업으로 성장하게 할 것이다. 델파이법을 이용하여 경종작물 분야의 전문가에게 각 기술의 전문도, 중요도, 실현시기(국내 및 세계), 연구개발수준, 실현시기의 확신도, 기술적으로 가장 앞선 국가, 연구개발 추진주체, 유효한 정책수단 등을 질문하였다. 이 조사의 대상은 경종작물분야의 전문가로 한정하였다. 미래유망기술로는 44개의 기술이 도출되었고, 이 조사에 응답한 전문가는 39명이었다.

Scenedesmus sp.로 부터의 지방 추출, 정제 및 특성 (Extraction, Purification and Property of the lipid from Scenedesmus sp.)

  • Lipid from Scenedesmus sp. was extracted, fractionated and purified by silicic acid column chromatography. Total lipid content of extract was $21.38{\pm}1.03$ wt%, and triacylglycerol, an index lipid for biodiesel production was detected. Ten species of $C_{16}{\sim}C_{22}$ with saturated and unsaturated fatty acid were identified showing the very adequate fatty acid profiles for biodiesel production with a good flow property at low temperature. The fractions of glycolipid, neutral and phospholipid were 52.64, 28.10 and 19.26% of total lipid, respectively. The triacylglycerol of 12.63% and chlorophyll a of 49.47% was fractioned using stepwise elution of n-hexane-diethyl ether (95:5, v/v) solvent. The high content of chlorophyll was considered as a potential source of value-added co-product.

양식장 넙치 폐사어를 이용한 단백질 소재의 개발에 관한 연구(2) -산업화공정 연구- (A Study on Development of Protein Materials using Dead Flatfish from Fish Farms(2) -Industrial Process-)

  • In manufacturing of flatfish skin collagen peptide (FSCP) and flatfish protein hydrolysate (FPH) by reuse of dead flatfish from fish farm in Jeju island, the industrial process was optimized with the laboratory scale research and the on-field process. Segmented unit processes from raw material incoming to shipment were established to produce commercial product of FSCP and FPH. Total plate counts of FSCP were twenty five times of FPH, but food poisoning bacteria were not detected in two samples. FSCP and FPH were safe from heavy metal such as Pb(II), Cd(II) and Hg(II). The residual contents of antibiotics and disinfection matter in FSCP and FPH were not detected. The optimized process for mass production made the one-third of the running time and two times of the yield. From economic analysis, the production cost was estimated to 22,000 and 12,000 won/kg for FSCP and FPH, respectively. Therefore the product from the reuse of dead flatfish was expected to have a considerable competitive price and high added-value functional food material compared with other commercially available fish products.

의약용 당단백질에 부가된 당사슬의 중요성 (Impacts of glycans attached to therapeutic glycoproteins)

  • High value-added therapeutic proteins have been leading the biologics industry and occupied major portion of the market. More than 60% of the currently available protein therapeutics are glycoproteins attached with glycans which play crucial roles for the protein folding, therapeutic efficacy, in vivo half-life and immunogenecity. This review introduces the process of glycosylation and the impacts of glycans in the aspects of therapeutics. The important glycan structures in therapeutic performances were also summarized focusing on three representative categories of glycoproteins, cytokines, therapeutic antibody and enzyme. Currently, mammalian expression systems such as Chinese hamster ovary cells are preferred for the production of therapeutic glycoproteins due to their ability to synthesize glycans having similar structures with human type glycans. However, recent advances of plant glycoengineering to overcome the limitation originating from different glycan structures will soon allow to develop more efficient and economic plant-based production systems for therapeutic glycoproteins.
