  • The purpose of this study lies in providing the basic materials for wrestlers' control of health and physical strength, the preventive, measure for injury during a practice or a game and the scientific training method for upgrading competitive power in a game. The result of analyzing the occurring tendency and therapeutical actions and attitude of sports injury, taking the 258 wrestlers from a high school, an university and pro-team as the object of study through a questioning sheet are like following. 1. Among every wrestlers' causes of injury, the main cause was a physical collision occupying $\50\%$, and an excessive training occupied $30\%$. on the contrary, the unsatisfied wrestler's cause of injury was a shortage of mental concentration and a burden of weight, occupying each $19\%$ and $17\%$. Therefore in order to prevent the injury, you should take care of especially in time of physical collision in a practice or a grme and prevent an excessive training. 2. The seasion with the most frequent occurrence of injury is the winter$(78\%)$, and in the spring and summer$(5.5\%)$, the frequency of occurrence of injury is very low. In the meantime, considering by occurring time, during a practice$(95\%)$ the injury occurs most frequently and during a game$(5\%)$ occure least frequently. Therefore, in order to reduce the injury, you should warm up sufficiently before the training and the practice and concentrate all of you attention and mind. 3. The injury occurs most highly in the afternoon hours occupying about $80\%$, and a little in the dawn and morning hours but in the contrary rarely in the night. 4. As the wrestler's injury type, the injury on muscles and tendons occupies the most to take $65\%$ of the whole injuries.

  • Glass-like carbon precursors shrink significantly during curing and carbonization, which leads to crack formation and bending. Cured furan resin powder and ethanol were added to furan resin to diminish the weight loss, to suppress the shrinkage and bending, and to readily release the gases evolved during polymerization and curing. Curing and carbonization were controlled by pressure and slow heating to avoid damage to the samples. The effect of the filler and ethanol on the fabrication process was examined by measuring the properties of the glass-like carbon, such as the specific gravity, bending strength, electrical resistivity, and microstructural change. The specific gravities of the filler-added glass-like carbons were higher than those of the ethanol-added samples because of the formation of macropores from the vaporization of ethanol during the curing and polymerization processes. Although the ethanol-added glass-like carbons exhibited lower bending strengths after carbonization than did the filler-added samples, the opposite result was observed after aging at 2,600$^{\circ}C$. We found that the macropores created from ethanol were contracted and removed upon heat treatment. The electrical resistivity of the glass-like carbon aged at 2,600$^{\circ}C$ was lower than those of the samples carbonized at 1,000$^{\circ}C$. We attribute this phenomenon to the fact that aging at high temperature led to well-developed microstructures, the removal of macropores, and the reduction of the surface area.

  • Recently, many utilities have considered interim dry storage of spent nuclear fuel as an option for increasing spent fuel storage capacity. Foreign nuclear regulatory committees have provided some regulatory and licensing requirements for relatively low- and medium-burned spent fuel with respect to the prevention of spent fuel degradation during transportation and interim dry storage. In the present study, the effect of cladding creep and hydride distribution on spent fuel degradation is reviewed and performance tests with high-burned Zircaloy-4 and advanced Zr alloy spent fuel are proposed to investigate the effect of burnup and cladding materials on the current regulatory and licensing requirements. Creep tests were also performed to investigate the effect of temperature and tensile hoop stress on hydride reorientation and subsequently to examine the temperature and stress limits against cladding material failure. It is found that the spent fuel failure is mainly caused by cladding creep rupture combined with mechanical strength degradation and hydride reorientation. Hydride reorientation from the circumferential to radial direction may reduce the critical stress intensity that accelerates radial crack propagation. The results of cladding creep tests at $400^{\circ}C$ and 130MPa hoop stress performed in this study indicate that hydride reorientation may occur between 2.6% to 7.0% strain in tube diameter with a hydrogen content range of 40-120ppm. Therefore, it is concluded that hydride re-orientation behaviour is strongly correlated with the cladding creep-induced strain, which varies as functions of temperature and stress acting on the cladding.

  • In this study, we suggest a stochastic finite element scheme for the probabilistic analysis of the composite laminated plates, which have been applied to variety of mechanical structures due to their high strength to weight ratios. The applied concept in the formulation is the weighted integral method, which has been shown to give the most accurate results among others. We take into account the elastic modulus and in-plane shear modulus as random. For individual random parameters, independent stochastic field functions are assumed, and the effect of these random parameters on the response are estimated based on the exponentially varying auto- and cross-correlation functions. Based on example analyses, we suggest that composite plates show a less coefficient of variation than plates of isotropic and orthotropic materials. For the validation of the proposed scheme, Monte Carlo analysis is also performed, and the results are compared with each other.

  • Polymer/inorganic composites were used as a protective layer of lihitum metal electrode for effective suppression of lithium dendrite. PVDF-HFP was used as an polymer material and TiO2 nanoparticle was used as an inorganic material. PVDF-HFP is a highly flexible polymer that acts as a matrix of inorganic materials while TiO2 nanoparticle improves the mechanical strength and ion conductivity of the protective layer. The as-synthesized protective hybrid membrane exhibited good dispersion of TiO2 in the PVDF-HFP matrix by SEM, AFM and XRD analyses. Furthermore, the electrochemical analysis showed that the polymer-inorganic composite retained high coulombic efficiency of 80% and low overpotential, less than 20 mV until the 100th cycles due to the improved mechanical properties and ion conductivity in comparison to the control sample (untreated and PVDF-HFP polymers/Cu).

  • Applications of advanced composite material in construction field are tending upwards and development of all composite material bridges is making progress rapidly in home and abroad due to their high strength to weight ratio. This paper formulated the dynamic responses of the laminated composite structures subjected to moving load and analyzed the various dynamic behaviors using the finite element method. The nondimensionalized natural frequencies of a simply supported square-laminated composite plate are considered for verifications. Mode superposition and Newmark direct integration method are applied for moving load analysis. For structural models, dynamic magnification factor calculated for various velocities of the moving load and displacements characteristics of laminated composite structures due to the moving load are investigated theoretically Numerical results are presented to study the effects of lamination scheme, stacking sequence, and fiber angle for laminated composite structures during moving load. The various results on moving load and lamination through numerical analysis will present an important basic data for development and grasp the behavior of all composite material bridges.

  • In this work, poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) nanofibers were fabricated by electrospinning to prepare the nanofibers-reinforced composites. And the PEO powders-impregnated composites were also prepared to compare the mechanical interfacial behaviors of the composites. Morphology and fiber diameter of PEO nanofibers were determined by SEM observation. Mechanical interfacial properties of the composites were investigated in fracture toughness $(K_{IC})$ and interlaminar shea. strength (ILSS) tests. As a result, the fiber diameter was decreased with increasing the applied voltage. And optimum condition for the fiber formation was 15 kV, resulting from increasing of jet instability at high voltage. The PEO-based nanofibers-reinforced epoxy composites showed the improvements of both $K_{IC}$ and ILSS, compared to the composites impregnated with PEO powders. These results indicated that the nanofibers had higher specific surface area and larger aspect ratio than those of the powders, which played an important role in improving the mechanical interfacial properties of the composites.

  • Modern manufacturing industries is to produce both precise and robust mechanical parts without failure while they are in service. In order to prevent a part failure for its lifetime, a mechanical design for a part should be examined on a basis of mechanical simulation. A nozzle plate, being a key part in steam engines, changes flow directions of steam in a turbine used in power plant. This paper is to the design and test for part safety and durability. Currently, nozzle plates are fabricated by welding nozzles to their plates. Welding causes some defects on the used materials while they are being manufactured. Another major defect is un-even pitches between welded nozzles. Welding causes phase changes because of high melting temperature of metal. This leads to decay on the welding spots, which weakens their structural strength and then, may lead to early damages on mechanical structures. This research proposes assembly-typed nozzle plate without welding. From the beginning, nozzle and plate are designed for insertion-typed assembly. Nozzle head and foot are designed in accordance with the grooves on outer ring and inner ring of a plate to make mating surfaces. Then the nozzle plate should be proved for structural and fatigue safety before they are put in manufacturing. This research adopts commercial softwares for modeling and mechanical simulation. The test result shows that the design with smaller mating area and deeper insertion produces higher safety in terms of structure and durability. From the conclusion, this paper proposes the assembly-typed nozzle plate to replace the welding typed.

  • Recently, as steel structures become higher and more long-spanned, application of high strength steel. SM570, is considered, For accurate seismic design, seismic analysis of steel structures needs a constitutive equation describing the characteristic of steel materials under non-proportional cyclic loading, While the use of SM570 material is much increased these days, research for description and generalization of cyclic plasticity behavior are insufficient, In this study, a cyclic plasticity model is proposed by results of material tests, i.e, monotonic and low cycle tests, Proposed cyclic plasticity model is applied to 3-Dimensional FE program and we carried out seismic analysis of pipe-section steel pier using SM570, Comparison between experiment and analysis results shows that the proposed constitutive equation is able to describe exactly the complicated plastic behavior of steel structure using SM570.
