  • This study has analyzed the engineering characteristics of resource-cycling mortar according to the variation of fine aggregate type using illite with high development potentials by setting the goal as developing eco-friendly construction materials. As a result, while flow has increased if recycled fine aggregate and waste refractory are used separately or mixing them adequately in case of flow and compressive strength, the flow had somewhat declined followed by illite replacement. However, the possibility of such usage is determined to be adequate if used by mixing illite, recycled fine aggregate and waste refractory properly due to the dry shrinkage effect.

  • An experimental investigation of the behavior of steel cords(SC) and SC and Polyethylene(PE) hybrid fiber reinforced cementitious material under compressive and tensile loading is presented. In this experimental research, the tensile and compressive strength and strain capacity of high performance fiber-reinforced cementitious composites(HPFRCC) were selected using the cylindrical specimens. Uniaxial compressive and tensile tests have also been carried out at varying strain rates to better understand the behavior of. HPFRCC and propose the standard loading rate for compressive and tensile tests of new HPFRCC materials. The results show that there is a substantial increase in the ultimate compressive and tensile strength with increasing strain rate.

  • In this study a board was made with good fireproof materials of which test was conducted according to the fireproof test for KS F 2257 construction members, and the temperature in coated steel which has a possibility to explode with concrete surface was measured. It is not appropriate to use normal mortar or mortar covering mixed with P.P. fiber to take a measure to prevent the explosive splalling of high-strength concrete. To finalize an Al-Si (aluminosilicates) board-requires over 30mm in thickness at the minimum for the required fire resistance performance and explosion prevention.

  • The current paper introduces work that was conducted during the development of a stamping die for a reinforce center pillar made from high strength steel. In the current study, the Bauschinger effect on the springback analysis was studied by comparing simulation results with real panels, which are currently in production. For a complicated part shape, quantitative measurements of the deformed shape are not easy in general to obtain. An adjustment procedure of the shape data for some chosen sections has been suggested to improve the accuracy of the quantitative measurements. The results show that the kinematic hardening model provides more accurate results.

  • Creep characteristic is an important failure mechanism when evaluating engineering materials that are soft material as polymers or used as mechanical elements at high temperatures. One of the popular thermo-elastic polymers, Polymethyl methacrylate(PMMA) which is used broadly for engineering polymer, as it has excellent mechanical and thermal properties compared to other polymers, was studied for creep characteristic at various level of stresses and temperatures. From the experimental results, the creep limit of PMMA at room temperature is 85 % of tensile strength. which is higher than that of PE (75%)at room temperature. Also the creep limits decreased to nil linearly as the temperatures increased, up to $120^{\circ}C$ of the melting point($267^{\circ}C$). Also the first and third stage among the three creep stages were non-existent nor were there any rupture failure which occurred for many metals at high temperatures.

  • The present research was aimed at comparing performance of metallic and polymer composite shells of a typical underwater vessel of length and inner diameter of 1650 mm and 350 mm respectively, based on the critical buckling pressure for operating depth of 1000 m using ANSYS. High strength steel, aluminium alloy, titanium alloy, glass / epoxy and carbon / epoxy materials were examined. The results indicated weight savings of 46 % in carbon/epoxy and 31 % in glass / epoxy when compared with high strength steel, based on the thickness of the shell for sustaining 10 MPa buckling pressure.

  • This study is focused on the skill to prevent RIB (Rigid Inflatable Boat) from sinking. For better ability to prevent sinking, single hypalon tube is replaced by double TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) tube that is excellent at frictional wear strength and oil-resisting qualities. High buoyant materials are arranged in empty spaces of ship so that ship's spare buoyancy is increased. And for restoration of stable position of ship, the self-righting system is installed. Aluminium alloy is used for increasing hull strength.

  • Currently, the construction structures become larger and more high-performance in modern society, demands for ultra-high strength and light weight construction materials are increasing rapidly. Therefore, this study aims to confirm the applicability of nanomixed cement supplemented with physical and mechanical properties using nanomaterials.Changes in compressive strength and properties were analyzed according to the ratio of cement paste and dispersant (PCE) made by ultrasonication of carbon nanotubes (CNT)

  • Currently, fossil resources are depleting rapidly. We are looking for energy to replace fossil fuels. They are trying to use electricity to replace internal combustion locomotives. Secondary battery raw materials and chemical additives are pulverized by the high-speed rotation of the grinding disc of the Classifier Separator Mill. Grinding Disc Assembly requires characteristics to withstand abrasion, corrosion, high-speed rotational force and impact. Domestic and foreign grinding discs were analyzed through abrasion resistance, hardness, bending strength, and tensile adhesion strength tests.

  • Concerns on environmental waste problems caused by non-biodegradable petrochemical-based plastic packaging materials as well as consumer's demand for high quality food products has caused an increasing interest in developing biodegradable packaging materials using annually renewable natural biopolymers such as polysaccharides and proteins. However, inherent shortcomings of natural polymer-based packaging materials such as low mechanical properties and low water resistance are causing a major limitation for their industrial use. By the way, recent advent of nanocomposite technology rekindled interests on the use of natural biopolymers in the food packaging application. Polymer nanocomposites, especially natural biopolymer-layered silicate nanocomposites, exhibit markedly improved packaging properties due to their nanometer size dispersion. These improvements include increased mechanical strength, decreased gas permeability, and increased water resistance. Additionally, biologically active ingredients can be added to impart the desired functional properties to the resulting packaging materials. Consequently, natural biopolymer-based nanocomposite packaging materials with bio-functional properties have huge potential for application in the active food packaging industry. In this review, recent advances in the preparation and characterization of natural biopolymer-based nanocomposite films, and their potential use in food packaging applications are addressed.
