The regulating and relaxing targets in the Land Use Regulation and Total Maximum Daily Loads are influenced by Land cover information. For the providing more accurate land information, this study attempted to generate an impervious surface map using KOMPSAT-2 image which a Korea manufactured high resolution satellite image. The classification progress of this study carried out by tasseled-cap spectral enhancement through each class extraction technique neither existing classification method. KOMPSAT-2 image of this study is enhanced by Soil Brightness Index(SBI), Green vegetation Index(GVI), None-Such wetness Index(NWI). Then ranges of extracted each index in enhanced image are determined. And then, Confidence Interval of classes was determined through the calculating Non-exceedance Probability. Spectral distributions of each class are changed according to changing of Control coefficient(${\alpha}$) at the calculated Non-exceedance Probability. Previously, Land cover classification map was generated based on established ranges of classes, and then, pervious and impervious surface was reclassified. Finally, impervious ratio of reclassified impervious surface map was calculated with blocks in the study area.
ROCSAT-2 mission is to daily image over Taiwan and the surrounding area for disaster monitoring, land use, and ocean surveillance during the 5-year mission lifetime. The satellite will be launched in December 2003 into its mission orbit, which is selected as a 14 rev/day repetitive Sun-synchronous orbit descending over (120 deg E, 24 deg N) and 9:45 a.m. over the equator with the minimum eccentricity. National Space Program Office (NSPO) is developing a ROCSAT-2 Image Processing System (IPS), which aims to provide real-time high quality image data for ROCSAT-2 mission. A simulated ROCSAT-2 image, based on Level 1B QuickBird Data, is generated for IPS verification. The test image is comprised of one panchromatic data and four multispectral data. The qualification process consists of four procedures: (a) QuickBird image processing, (b) generation of simulated ROCSAT-2 image in Generic Raw Level Data (GERALD) format, (c) ROCSAT-2 image processing, and (d) geometric error analysis. QuickBird standard photogrammetric parameters of a camera that models the imaging and optical system is used to calculate the latitude and longitude of each line and sample. The backward (inverse model) approach is applied to find the relationship between geodetic coordinate system (latitude, longitude) and image coordinate system (line, sample). The bilinear resampling method is used to generate the test image. Ground control points are used to evaluate the error for data processing. The data processing contains various coordinate system transformations using attitude quaternion and orbit elements. Through the qualification test process, it is verified that the IPS is capable of handling high-resolution image data with the accuracy of Level 2 processing within 500 m.

Disaster damage investigation system was developed using VB NET languages, ArcObject component and MS-SQL DBMS for effective management of damage informations. The system can finding damaged area comparing pre- and post-disaster images and drawing damaged area according to the damage item unit. Extracted object was saved in Shape file format and overlayed with background GIS DB for obtaining detail information of damaged area. Disaster damage investigation system using high resolution spatial images can extract damage information rapidly and highly reliably for widely disaster areas. This system can be expected to highly contributing to enhance the disaster prevention capabilities in national level field investigation supporting and establishing recovery plan etc. This system can be utilized at the plan of disaster prevention through digital damage information and linked in national disaster information management system. Further studies are needed to better improvement in system and cover for the linkage of damage information with digital disaster registry.
This study assessed the feasibility to apply Two-band and Three-band reflectance models for chlorophyll-a estimation in turbid productive waters whose scale is smaller and narrower than ocean using a high spatial resolution image. Those band ratio models were successfully applied to analyzing chlorophyll-a concentrations of ocean or coastal water using Moderate Imaging Spectroradiometer(MODIS), Sea-viewing Wide Field-fo-view Sensor(SeaWiFS), Medium Resolution Imaging Spectrometer(MERIS), etc. Two-band and Three-band models based on band ratio such as Red and NIR band were generally used for the Chl-a in turbid waters. Two-band modes using Red and NIR bands of RapidEye image showed no significant results with $R^2$ 0.38. To enhance a band ratio between absorption and reflection peak, We used red-edge band(710 nm) of RapidEye image for Twoband and Three-band models. Red-RE Two-band and Red-RE-NIR Three-band reflectance model (with cubic equation) for the RapidEye image provided significance performances with $R^2$ 0.66 and 0.73, respectively. Their performance showed the 'Approximate Prediction' with RPD, 1.39 and 1.29 and RMSE, 24.8, 22.4, respectively. Another three-band model with quadratic equation showed similar performances to Red-RE two-band model. The findings in this study demonstrated that Two-band and Three-band reflectance models using a red-edge band can approximately estimate chlorophyll-a concentrations in a turbid river water using high-resolution satellite image. In the distribution map of estimated Chl-a concentrations, three-band model with cubic equation showed lower values than twoband model. In the further works, quantification and correction of spectral interferences caused by suspended sediments and colored dissolved organic matters will improve the accuracy of chlorophyll-a estimation in turbid waters.
Red tide is becoming hot issue of environmental problem worldwide since the 1990. Advanced nations, are progressing study that detect red tide area on early time using satellite for sea. But, our country most seashores bends serious. Also because there are a lot of turbid method streams on coast, hard to detect small red tide area by satellite for sea that is low resolution. Also, method by sea color that use one feature of satellite image for sea of existent red tide area detection was most. In this way, have a few feature in image with sea color and it can cause false negative mistake that detect red tide area. Therefore, in this paper, acquired texture information to use GLCM(Gray Level Co occurrence Matrix)'s texture 6 information about high definition land satellite south Coast image. Removed needless component reducing dimension through principal component analysis from this information. And changed into 2 principal component accumulation images, Experiment result 2 principal component conversion accumulation image's eigenvalues were 94.6%. When component with red tide area that uses only sea color image and all principal component image. displayed more correct result. And divided as quantitative,, it compares with turbid stream and the sea that red tide does not exist using statistical feature analysis about texture.

Recently, environmental and ecological approaches is in progress in urban stream, especially the guarantee of instream flow becomes very important. In this paper, it is suggested that water volume estimation method utilizing the topographical shape data obtained by field investigation and satellite image to manage the urban stream efficiently. The data obtained at Gap River is the study area are analysed and those results are as belows. First, surveying to investigate topographic shape characteristics of urban stream is carried out. In details, the gradient characteristics from water surface to bottom in case of sand area and in case of grass area are 0.013 and 0.065 respectively. In conclusion, the gradient characteristic of grass area is five times bigger than that of sand area. Besides, IKONOS image is classified by spectrum analysis and Minimum Distance Method and the sand area extraction method by the generalization method as Median filter is suggested to calculate water volume. Finally, mapping process on the sand area extracted from the topographical shape field data in river and satellite images is carried out by the GIS spatial analysis. And on the assumption that the water level was 1m at that time when satellite image was taken, the water volume was $225,258m^3$. It is clarified that the effect of water volume improvement was about 10.5% in comparison with water volume that had no consideration on the gradient characteristics of sand-bar.

Spatial information could be obtained from spaceborne high resolution optical and synthetic aperture radar(SAR) images. However, some satellite images do not provide physical sensor information instead, rational polynomial coefficients(RPC) are available. The objectives of this study are: (1) 3-dimensional ground coordinates were computed by applying rational function model(RFM) with the RPC for the stereo pair of Ikonos images and their accuracy was evaluated. (2) Interferometric SAR(InSAR) was applied to JERS-1 images to generate DEM and its accuracy was analysis. (3) Quality of the DEM generated automatically also analyzed for different types of terrain in the study site. The overall accuracy was evaluated by comparing with GPS surveying data. The height offset in the RPC was corrected by estimating bias. In consequence, the accuracy was improved. Accuracy of the DEMs generated from InSAR with different selection of GCP was analyzed. In case of the Ikonos images, the results show that the overall RMSE was 0.23327", 0.l1625" and 13.70m in latitude, longitude and height, respectively. The height accuracy was improved after correcting the height offset in the RPC. i.e., RMSE of the height was 1.02m. As for the SAR image, RMSE of the height was 10.50m with optimal selection of GCP. For the different terrain types, the RMSE of the height for urban, forest and flat area was 23.65m, 8.54m, 0.99m, respectively for Ikonos image while the corresponding RMSE was 13.82m, 18.34m, 10.88m, respectively lot SAR image.
The importance of the classical theme of how the Top-of-Atmosphere (TOA) and Top-of-Canopy (TOC) reflectance of high-resolution satellite images match the actual atmospheric reflectance and surface reflectance has been emphasized. Based on the Radiometric Calibration Network (RadCalNet) BTCN and BSCN data, this study compared the accuracy of TOA and TOC reflectance products of the currently available optical satellites, including KOMPSAT-3, WorldView-2, and Pléiades-1A image sets calculated using the absolute atmospheric correction function of the Orfeo Toolbox (OTB) tool. The comparison experiment used data in 2018 and 2019, and the Landsat-8 image sets from the same period were applied together. The experiment results showed that the product of TOA and TOC reflectance obtained from the three sets of images were highly consistent with RadCalNet data. It implies that any imagery may be applied when high-resolution reflectance products are required for a certain application. Meanwhile, the processed results of the OTB tool and those by the Apparent Reflection method of another tool for WorldView-2 images were nearly identical. However, in some cases, the reflectance products of Landsat-8 images provided by USGS sometimes showed relatively low consistency than those computed by the OTB tool, with the reference of RadCalNet BTCN and BSCN data. Continuous experiments on active vegetation areas in addition to the RadCalNet sites are necessary to obtain generalized results.

This paper introduces volume-sharing multi-aperture imaging (VMAI), a potential approach proposed for volume reduction in space-borne imagers, with the aim of achieving high-resolution ground spatial imagery using deep learning methods, with reduced volume compared to conventional approaches. As an intermediate step in the VMAI payload development, we present a phase-1 design targeting a 1-meter ground sampling distance (GSD) at 500 km altitude. Although its optical imaging capability does not surpass conventional approaches, it remains attractive for specific applications on small satellite platforms, particularly surveillance missions. The design integrates one wide-field and three narrow-field cameras with volume sharing and no optical interference. Capturing independent images from the four cameras, the payload emulates a large circular aperture to address diffraction and synthesizes high-resolution images using deep learning. Computational simulations validated the VMAI approach, while addressing challenges like lower signal-to-noise (SNR) values resulting from aperture segmentation. Future work will focus on further reducing the volume and refining SNR management.
Road networks are important geospatial databases for various GIS (Geographic Information System) applications. Road digital maps may contain geometric spatial errors due to human and scanning errors, but manually updating roads information is time consuming. In this paper, we developed a new road features updating methodology using from multispectral high-resolution satellite image and pre-existing vector map. The approach is based on initial seed point generation using line segment matching and a modified double snake algorithm. Firstly, we conducted line segment matching between the road vector data and the edges of image obtained by Canny operator. Then, the translated road data was used to initialize the seed points of the double snake model in order to refine the updating of road features. The double snake algorithm is composed of two open snake models which are evolving jointly to keep a parallel between them. In the proposed algorithm, a new energy term was added which behaved as a constraint. It forced the snake nodes not to be out of potential road pixels in multispectral image. The experiment was accomplished using a QuickBird pan-sharpened multispectral image and 1:5,000 digital road maps of Daejeon. We showed the feasibility of the approach by presenting results in this urban area.
