광대역 특성을 가지는 고출력 펄스 전력 증폭기 구현에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Implementation of High Power Pulse Amplifier with wide-band characteristic)

  • 본 논문에서는 L-Band 대역의 항행안전시설(DME, TACAN)에 적용 가능한 광대역 High power pulsed amplifier를 구현하였다. L-Band 대역의 항행안전시설의 특성상 구현된 SSPA는 매우 높은 출력과 선형성, 효율 특성을 요구한다. 이에 본 논문에서는 변형된 class F 기법을 이용하여 효율 특성을 개선하였다. 또한 hybrid coupler를 이용한 Balance 구조와 구동부 증폭단의 비선형 특성을 이용한 anti-phase 기법, 출력부 harmonic trap 등을 이용하여 선형 특성을 개선하였다. 구현된 SSPA는 약 300MHz의 대역폭을 가지며, 1.5KW 출력과 55%의 효율 특성을 보였다.

KOMPSAT-2 영상과 IKONOS/GEOEYE-1 영상의 밝기값 상호비교 (Brightness Value Comparison Between KOMPSAT-2 Images with IKONOS/GEOEYE-1 Images)

  • 최근 수질추정을 위한 고해상도 위성영상의 활용 가능성에 대한 관심이 증대되고 있다. 그러나 고해상도 위성영상에서의 수면지역의 낮은 SNR(Signal to Noise Ratio)과 밝기값 비선형성과 같은 방사학적 오차는 수질추정 정확도를 감소시키는 원인이 된다. 이에 따라 위성영상을 이용한 정확한 수질추정을 위해서는 방사학적 보정이 반드시 수행되어져야 하나 KOMPSAT-2 위성영상의 경우 밝기값과 입사광량간 변환관계식이 제공되지 않기 때문에 이러한 방사학적 보정에 어려움이 존재한다. 따라서 수질모니터링에 KOMPSAT-2 영상을 활용하기 위해서는 밝기값 비선형성과 내륙 수면지역의 잡음현상을 실험적으로 파악할 필요가 있다. 본 논문에서는 충분한 검보정을 통해 선형성이 보장되고 있는 IKONOS와 GeoEye-1 영상을 기준영상으로 사용하여 동일시기에 동일지역을 촬영한 KOMPSAT-2 영상과의 밝기값 상호비교를 수행하였다. 상호비교 결과, 기준영상에 비해 KOMPSAT-2 영상의 잡음은 다소 높게 나타나나 밝기값의 경향 및 잡음의 크고 작은 패턴은 정확하게 일치하였고 KOMPSAT-2 영상 내 잡음의 영향이 최소화되는 적절한 영역의 크기는 $5{\times}5$로 나타났다. 또한 모든 실험 영상에서 밝기값의 비선형성은 존재하지 않는 것으로 확인되었다. 실험결과는 KOMPSAT-2 영상이 클로로필 농도와 같은 수질인자 추정을 위해 사용될 수 있는 가능성을 보여준다.

  • This paper presents a linear temperature/voltage relation over a temperature range(0~100$^{\circ}C$) with high-resolution, reasonably god response linearity, reliability, and overall improved performance. A notable feature of the proposed method is that the whole temperature span is divided by 16 subbands thus the variation span of measured voltage is narrowed. Therefore noise characteristic has been improved. The output voltage is amplified after the uniformed DC voltage component is eliminated by offset. We proposed circuit using median value and mean value of digital signal in order to reduce the noise effect. The proposed circuit offers linear temperature/voltage conversion over a wide dynamic range using DSP(TMS320C31) and steinhart equation.

  • This paper describes fabrication and characteristics of metal thin-film pressure sensor for working at high temperature. The proposed pressure sensor consists of a chrom thin-film, patterned on a Wheatstone bridge configuration, sputter-deposited onto thermally oxidized Si membranes with an aluminium interconnection layer. The fabricated pressure sensor presents a low temperature coefficient of resistance, high-sensitivity, low non-linearity and excellent temperature stability. The sensitivity is 1.097 $\sim$ 1.21 mV/V kgf/$cm^2$ in the temperature range of 25 $\sim$ $200^{\circ}C$ and the maximum non-linearity is 0.43 %FS.

  • A 3.3V PLL(Phase Locked loop) is designed for a high frequency, low voltage, and low power applications. This paper proposes a new PLL architecture to improve voltage to frequency linearity of VCO(Voltage controlled oscillator) with new delay cell. The proposed VCO operates at a wide frequency range of 30MHz~1㎓ with a good linearity. The DC-DC voltage up/down converter is utilized to regulate the control voltage of the two-stage VCO. The designed PLL architecture is implemented on a 0.6${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ n-well CMOS process. The simulation results show a locking time of 2.6$\mu$sec at 1Hz, Lock in range of 100MHz~1㎓, and a power dissipation of 112㎽.

Millimeter-Wave High-Linear CMOS Low-Noise Amplifier Using Multiple-Gate Transistors

  • A millimeter-wave (mm-wave) high-linear low-noise amplifier (LNA) is presented using a 0.18 ${\mu}m$ standard CMOS process. To improve the linearity of mm-wave LNAs, we adopted the multiple-gate transistor (MGTR) topology used in the low frequency range. By using an MGTR having a different gate-source bias at the last stage of LNAs, third-order input intercept point (IIP3) and 1-dB gain compression point ($P_{1dB}$) increase by 4.85 dBm and 4 dBm, respectively, without noise figure (NF) degradation. At 33 GHz, the proposed LNAs represent 9.5 dB gain, 7.13 dB NF, and 6.25 dBm IIP3.

  • This paper reports on the fabrication process and characteristics of a ceramic thin-film pressure sensor based on Ta-N strain-gauges for harsh environment applications. The Ta-N thin-film strain-gauges are sputter-deposited on a thermally oxidized micromachined Si diaphragms with buried cavities for overpressure tolerance. The proposed device takes advantage of the good mechanical properties of single-crystalline Si as a diaphragm fabricated by SDB and electrochemical etch-stop technology, and in order to extend the temperature range, it has relatively higher resistance, stability and gauge factor of Ta-N thin-films more than other gauges. The fabricated pressure sensor presents a low temperature coefficient of resistance, high-sensitivity, low non-linearity and excellent temperature stability. The sensitivity is 1.21 ~ 1.097 mV/V.kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$ in temperature ranges of 25~ $200^{\circ}C$ and a maximum non-linearity is 0.43 %FS.

Fabrication of enzymatic biosensor based on the poly(3-thiophenecarboxylic acid-co-thiophene) polymer as electron-transfer materials

  • We fabricated glucose oxidase (GOx)-modified biosensor for detection of glucose by physical immobilization of GOx after electrochemical polymerization of the conductive mixture monomers of the 3-thiophenecarboxylic acid (TCA) and thiophene (Th) onto ITO electrode in this study. We confirmed the successfully fabrication of GOx-modified biosensor via FT-IR spectroscopy, SEM, contact angle, and cyclic voltammetry. The fabricated biosensor has the detection limit of $0.1{\mu}M$, the linearity of 0.001-27 mM, and sensitivity of $38.75mAM^{-1}cm^{-2}$, respectively. The fabricated biosensor exhibits high interference effects to dopamine, ascorbic acid, and L-cysteine, respectively. From these results, the fabricated GOx-modified biosensor with long linearity and high sensitivity could be used as glucose sensor in human blood sample.

외부공진형 광주파수가변 레이저를 이용한 실시간 광섬유 케이블의 미세 진동 측정 연구 (Real-time Subtle Vibration Sensing of Optical Fiber Cable based on External-cavity Frequency-swept Laser)

  • In this paper, we developed a fiber optic interferometer system based on frequency-swept laser. This frequency-swept laser with an external-cavity structure can generate a high coherent light with a linewidth of 132 kHz at 1552 nm. It also shows a superior swept linearity of R2 = 0.99995 under repetition rate of 200 kHz due to absence of mechanical moving parts in the laser cavity. By using a piezoelectric fiber optic stretcher, various vibration experiments were implemented, such as 0.5 to 2.0 kHz vibration signals with intervals of 0.5 kHz, with a sampling rate of 7 kHz. Real-time peak tracking can be successfully recovered according to the applied vibration frequency with high linearity of R2 = 0.99983.

  • With the aim to maximize the use of a given voltage source in the field of railway and electric vehicles, this study applies a technique for controlling the overmodulation region between the linear and the six-step regions. High linearity overmodulation techniques that do not use look-up table (LUT) to digital signal processor (DSP) using carrier based pulse width modulation (PWM) are proposed. Such technique requires the phase of the voltage vector at the point where the circular trajectory of the voltage command vector and hexagonal cross each other. Therefore, a method is proposed to obtain a phase of a voltage vector that is derived through an equation and applied to a carrier-based PWM. Validity of the proposed implementation method is confirmed through simulation and experiment.
