Urinary Cortisol Levels in Japanese Shorthorn Cattle before and after the Start of a Grazing Season

  • We conducted two experiments to assess the effect of transfer from housing to grazing on stress hormone secretion in cattle using urine samples. In a preliminary experiment, urine samples were collected following an adrenocorticotrophic hormone (ACTH) challenge, and cortisol levels in urine were compared with the levels in plasma. In a second experiment, urinary cortisol was measured before and after the start of a grazing season in 6 Japanese Shorthorn cows, all of which had experienced grazing before. In experiment 1, urinary cortisol showed a pattern of changes similar to that of plasma with a 0.5-h temporal lag time, and the peak levels were 4 to 10 times higher than the basal levels. In experiment 2, the urinary cortisol levels in cows did not change after the cows were let out to pasture, with no decreases in body weight. This study suggests that the transfer from housing to grazing did not affect physiological responses to cause high excretion of urinary cortisol in grazing-experienced cattle using a non-invasive sampling method.

눈의 공간주파수와 대비 민감도 함수(CSF) 특성에 대한 연구 (Contrast Sensitivity as a Function of Spatial Frequency for 12 Year Old Child-Eye)

  • 공간주파수에 따른 contrast sensitivity를 측정할 수 있는 새로운 방법으로 차트를 제작하기 위해 차트 화면 최대 luminance값을 100%로 하여, 격자주파수의 mean luminance를 25, 50, 75%의 3개형태로 만들어 CS값 0 에서 $10^3$ 값이 되도록 하였다. 초등학생 5학년을 대상으로 공간주파수에 따른 CS값의 측정결과 평균 luminance 값이 떨어질수록 CS값은 감소되고, peak 위치도 low spatial frequency 쪽으로 이동하였다. 약시인 사람은 고주파수쪽에서 CS가 감소하거나, 전체주파수 공간에서 CS값이 감소하였다. 격자순응에 의해 CS 측정값은 순응된 공간주파수의 주변 영역에서 CS가 감소된다.

  • An easy elevator originated is an opened system to compare an existing equipment, and learning efficient is high as a wiring that the sequence control circuit is on and off. The structure of an equipment to be controled from the first floor to the fifth floor is constructed by a lamp to express the function of the open-close of the door according to the cage moving, to express the mechanical actuation of the forward-reverse break and motor of load and of hand-worked control component of Push-Button S/W, L/S and Relay. In order to act of the elevator function that these components connected, designed the auto program and the sequence control circuit. Consequently the process that these(1~5steps) operated the cage with an auto program of the elevator and the sequence control circuit is controled by the step of forward and reverse that the L/S1~L/S5 of sensor adjust function let posit, by the adjustable S/W1~S/W5 of PLC testing panel and the S/W1~S/W5 which installed on the transparent acryl plate of a frame. In here, improved apparatus is the learning equipment of combined use to study the principle and the technique of the originated sequence control circuit and the auto program of PLC.

  • 본 연구는 국내 섬유의류산업의 공급사슬관리 시스템인 QR(Quick Response) 시스템 구현에 웹서비스 기반의 ASP(WS-ASP) 모델을 제시한다. 국내 섬유의류산업은 대부분 중소기업으로 구성되어 있어서 전문 IT인력을 확보하기 어렵고 대규모 IT 투자여력도 없는 형편이다. ASP 모델은 소프트웨어 온 디맨드 서비스를 저렴한 사용 수수료로 제공받을 수 있다는 장점 이 있으나, ASP 벤더에 대한 의존도가 높아 벤더 위험이 크다는 단점이 있다. 본 연구는 WS-ASP모델을 통해 소프트웨어 온 디맨드 서비스를 여러 특화된 WS-ASP벤더에 분산시켜 벤더 위험을 감소시킴으로써 ASP모델의 단점을 보완하여 QR 시스템에 적절함을 제시하였다.

  • 가상 내시경에서는 고화질 영상을 빠른 속도로 만들어내는 것이 중요하지만 가상 카메라가 장기내벽과 충돌하지 않으면서 직관적이고 편리하게 카메라를 이동시킬 수 있는 항행 기법이 더 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 볼륨 광선 투사법을 이용하여 현재 프레임의 영상을 렌더링하는 과정에서 2차원 깊이 맵을 생성한 후에 이 값을 이용하여 다음 프레임에서의 카메라 위치와 방향을 결정하는 효율적인 항행 방법을 제안한다. 이 방법은 충돌 회피 조작을 하면서도 사용자가 임의로 카메라를 조작할 수 있도록 해주며 별도의 전처리 과정이나 자료구조가 필요 없이 카메라의 이동방향을 신속하게 계산할 수 있다. 이 방법을 가상 대장 내시경에 적용하여 효과적인 항행이 가능함을 보였다.

  • In an information-oriented and internationalized society of the future, the quality and the price of goods made by each country will be equalized. That eliminates competition. But the design and appearance of products is an important factor in international competition. Indeed, design symbolizes a country's culture visually, and it can show the cultural identity and originality of a nation in international society. And that will play an important part that can contribute to creating added value. It is necessary to revive our people's old lyrical stories which are far away from our memory, and we badly need design development to revive traditional cultural merchandise through visual modernization. In this study, I chose lotus as the subject material of textile design development. And my intention for this study is to reflect Korean traditional cultural value as much as I can, and to develop textile design of Korean images by adding modern scenes. Also, I intend to print them on fabric, and apply them to cultural merchandise including scarves and ties, by using digital textile printing systems. The reasons for doing so, are to create high added value, and to let other peoples of the world, know about our excellent culture.

부직포 중에 잔존하는 유리 Formaldehyde에 관한 연구 -접착심지를 중심으로- (A Study on the Free formaldehyde in Nonwoven Fabrics -with emphasis on the fusible bonded webs-)

  • As the fabric merchandises become more diversified and the pre-condensates of resin are used in increasing amount to enhance the quality of so-called 'easy care' in such fabric goods, form-aldehyde, which is extricated from nonwoven fabrics, has posed problems. The result of the study conformed, firstly that the fusible bonded webs sold in the current market contained a considerable amount of formaldehyde, i.e. the minimum of 552$\mu$g/g and the maximum of 2,123$\mu$g/g. Secondly, formaldehyde fond in many of such fabric goods was unable to be removed completely even after washed for, three times. Thirdly, the degree of permeation of HCHO into other part of the fabric proved to be high and. when kept in a poly bag over 10days. the amount of formaldehyde tended to increase. Such experiment, therefore, demonstrates that the methods of delivery and storage employed in the current distribution structure must be thoroughly re-examined. The conclusion of this study shows that we should be more concerned with the adverse effects of formaldehyde for the health of consumers. let alone the increase of export of such merchandises.

  • Recently, 345kV XLPE Cable and Accessories have been developed and will be applied for Youngseo$\sim$Youngdeungpo project in Korea. So, let this project and the process of development introduce on this paper. The cable type and length of this project is 345kv XLPE 1C*$2000mm^2$ 66km and all cable will be pulled on cable tunnel. The diameter of cable insulation was designed as 27mm, we could reduce it by appling for hi-tech and super-clean system. Joints were developed by a pre-fabricated type which considered high safety and economic issues. We had also done Pre-Qualification test for verifying the reliance of cable and accessories before construction. As we developed this 345kV XLPE cable system including its accessories at the same time, we can have higher technologies and contribute safe power in transmission lines. In adtionally, we can have a stable status for suppling EHV cable systems to a variety foreign customers by ourselves.

  • 축구는 유산소와 무산소운동이 혼합된 형태의 구기이고, 축구에서 필요로 하는 신체 능력은 지구력, 근력, 스피드, 순발력 및 유연성 등이 있으며, 이중 골 결정력에 영향을 미치는 인자는 순발력이 필수적인 것으로 알려져 있다. 그러나, 최근 축구의 경향을 보면, 스피드를 중시하는 미드필더의 강한 압박을 기본으로 하는데, 따라서 체력적인 요소 중에서 스피드에 더 많은 관심이 모아지고 있다. 이런 스피드의 요소에 대하여 자세히 알아보도록 하자.

CoFeSiBNi 아몰퍼스 합금의 자기-임피던스 효과 (Magneto-impedance effect of CoFeSiBNi amorphous magnetic films)

  • Soft ferromagnetic materials are very useful for many sensors using magnetic materials demanding high permeability, low coercivity and low hysteresis loss. Among them, FeCoSiBNi amorphous magnetic films show a good impedance change (about 5.01 %/Oe, at 10 MHz) by the exterinal magnetic field in this experiment. The magnetic films are produced by melt-spun method, one of the rapid solidification process. Ribbon shape wires were made from the films, and let them annealed in DC magnetic field to increase the maximum Giant Magneto Impedance ratio. Field annealing decreases the stress and changes the effective anisotropy. Thus, we can find that the impedance change (200.47 %) is improved and the fabricated magnetic wire has characteristics of good sensor element.
