  • It is essential to develop a large capacity, non-contact nondestructive inspection system having high reliability to investigate repaired and strengthened structures. Nowadays, an infrared camera is widely used in non-contact nondestructive inspection system. Because an infrared camera is sensitive to the surrounding environment, it is necessary to improve a sensitivity of thermal image information and a relationship between defects and thermal image information. In this papaer, presented is an optimum void detection chart for the optimum conditions to detect infrared rays from inside and outside defects like voids and cracks in concrete structures using extensive computer simulation. Sensitivity studies are performed with respect to variables influencing the temperature distribution such as heating temperature, heating time, and geometries of defect, etc. It may be stated that it could be successfully utilized for the non-contact nondestructive inspection system to detect defects in concrete structures.

다기능 경피 확산 테스트 시스템 설계 및 제작 (Multifunctional Transdermal Diffusion Test System)

  • The diffusion cell method is the main technique employed for the in vitro diffusion test of transdermal drug delivery preparations. Most existing transdermal diffusion devices use a water bath heating structure and direct current motor magnetic stirrer. However, these devices are confronted with problems, such as large volume, incompatible vertical and horizontal diffusion cells, few diffusion cell sets, and poor reliability. To overcome these deficiencies, the system adopts a dry heating method and uses a rotating magnetic field generated by the electromagnetic stirrer to drive the magnetic stirrer. Accordingly, the resulting device is characterized by a simple structure and small volume, convenient operation, compatible vertical and horizontal diffusion cells, and numerous diffusion cell sets. The reliability and practicability of the system is verified by the in vitro percutaneous permeability test of the bisoprolol patch.

Synthesis of Activated Carbon from Rice Husk Using Microwave Heating Induced KOH Activation

  • The production of functional activated carbon materials starting from inexpensive natural precursors using environmentally friendly and economically effective processes has attracted much attention in the areas of material science and technology. In particular, the use of plant biomass to produce functional carbonaceous materials has attracted a great deal of attention in various aspects. In this study the preparation of activated carbon has been attempted from rice husks via a chemical activation-assisted microwave system. The rice husks were milled via attrition milling with aluminum balls, and then carbonized under purified $N_2$. The operational parameters including the activation agents, chemical impregnation weight ratio of the calcined rice husk to KOH (1:1, 1:2 and 1:4), microwave power heating within irradiation time (3-5 min), and the second activation process on the adsorption capability were investigated. Experimental results were investigated using XRD, FT-IR, and SEM. It was found that the BET surface area of activated carbons irrespective of the activation agent resulted in surface area. The activated carbons prepared by microwave heating with an activation process have higher surface area and larger average pore size than those prepared by activation without microwave heating when the ratio with KOH solution was the same. The activation time using microwave heating and the chemical impregnation ratio with KOH solution were varied to determine the optimal method for obtaining high surface area activated carbon (1505 $m^2$/g).

금 증착 적외선 반사판의 반사율 및 수명에 미치는 제조공정 변수의 영향 (Influence of Manufacturing Conditions on the Reflectance and Life Time of the Gold Protected IR Mirror)

  • Infrared(IR) heating has many advantages, such as energy efficiency, reduced heating time, cleanliness, equipment compactness, high drying rate and easy automation. These features of IR heating provide widely industrial applications, such as surface heat treatment in semiconductor fabrication, thermoforming of polymers, drying and disinfection of food products, heating to metal forging, and drying of wet materials. In this study, the characteristics of a protected gold mirror were examined by spectrophotometer and the lifetime of the coating layers were evaluated by a cross-cutting method and salt spray test. The effects of manufacturing conditions on the protected gold mirror were seen and remedies for these effects were noted in order to improve the properties of the protected gold mirror in the drying process. The reflectance and lifetime of the protected gold mirror was influenced by manufacturing conditions, such as surface roughness and forming conditions of the anti-oxide layer, the adhesion layer, the reflecting layer and the protection layer. The results of this study showed that the protected gold mirror manufactured using a buffing method for pre-treatment resulted in the most effective reflectance. In addition, $Al_2O_3$ coating on an Al substrate as an anti-oxide layer was more effective than the anodizing process in the test of reflectance. Furthermore, the protected gold mirror manufactured by layers forming of various materials resulted in the most effective reflectance and lifetime when coated with $Al_2O_3$ as the anti-oxide layer, coated Cr as the adhesion layer, and coated $MgF_2$ as the protection layer.

OEMGD 알고리즘을 이용한 건물 냉난방용 최적 에너지 믹스 모델에 관한 연구 - 지열히트펌프와 지역냉난방 시스템을 중심으로 (A Study on the Optimal Energy Mix Model in Buildings with OEMGD Algorithm Focusing on Ground Source Heat Pump and District Heating & Cooling System)

  • This study was conducted to promote consumer interest in Geothermal Heat Pump (Ground Source Heat Pump, GSHP) and district heating and cooling (District Heating & Cooling, DHC) systems, which are competing with each other in the heating and cooling field. Considering not only the required cost data of energy itself, but also external influence factors, the optimal mix ratio of these two energy systems was studied as follows. The quantitative data of the two energy systems was entered into a database and the non-quantitative factors of external influence were applied in the form of coefficients. Considering both of these factors, the optimal mix ratio of GSHP and DHC systems and minimum Life Cycle Cost (LCC) were obtained using an algorithm model design. The Optimal Energy Mix of GSHP & DHC (OEMGD) algorithm was developed using a software program (Octave 4.0). The numerical result was able to reflect the variety of external influence factors through the OEMGD algorithm. The OEMGD model found that the DHC system is more economical than the GSHP system and was able to represent the optimal energy mix ratio and LCC of mixed energy systems according to changes in the external influences. The OEMGD algorithm could be of help to improve the consumers' experience and rationalize their energy usage.

뜸의 열적효과를 구현하기 위한 심부 열 자극 시스템 개발 (Development of Deep-Heating Stimulation System for Substituting the Heat Effect of Moxibustion)

  • 본 논문에서는 뜸의 열적 효과를 구현할 수 있는 심부 열 자극 시스템을 제작하고 뜸 자극에 의한 온도변화와 유사한 자극 프로토콜을 설계하고 평가하였다. 뜸은 질병에 대한 면역력을 높이고 질병을 치유하는데 사용하지만, 체표면에 화상을 입히는 부작용 및 열 자극의 세기를 조절하기 힘든 한계점이 있다. 이런 한계점을 극복하기 위해 자극의 세기 조절이 용이한 고주파 심부 열 자극 시스템을 개발하고, 심부에 뜸과 동일한 열 자극을 전달할 수 있는 프로토콜을 제안하여 뜸의 심부온도와 비교 하였다. 심부의 온도측정은 고주파의 영향을 받지 않는 적외선 열 센서를 사용해 측정하였고, 적외선 열 카메라 및 thermometer를 이용해 온도를 측정하고 비교하였다. 뜸과 심부 열 자극 시스템을 이용하여 심부에 자극을 인가한 후 측정한 온도변화를 비교한 결과, 표피에 가까울수록 유사한 온도 변화 패턴을 보여준 반면 심부로 내려갈수록 심부 열 자극 시스템의 열적효과가 뜸에 비해 더 효과적인 것을 알 수 있었다. 이를 통해 제작한 심부 열 자극 시스템과 열 자극 프로토콜의 유용성을 확인 할 수 있었다.

뜸의 특성 연구 방법론에 대한 문헌고찰 (Literature Review on Research Methodology Assessing Properties of Moxibustion)

  • Objectives : The aim of this review was to summarize and assess researches reporting thermal properties of moxibustion. Methods and Materials : We searched one electronic database(PubMed) and two journals(The Journal of Korean Medicine and The Journal of Korean Acupuncture & Moxibustion Society) and for the articles published until Nov. 2012. The articles reporting thermal characteristic of moxibustion were selected and reviewed. 31 articles were included and assessed in this review. The type of moxibustion, the material beneath moxbustion, main outcome and the amount of information were reviewed. The amount of information was defined as 1 for one main outcome reported in each article. Results : Direct moxibustion were used in 15 articles and indirect moxibustion were used in 19 articles. 11 researches used anti-heating plate for the material beneath moxibustion, one article used steel ring, agar with anti-heating plate, six articles used skin and another six articles used heater. Two articles used animals and another two articles used metals. The mean value of the amount of information was $4.41{\pm}2.94$(SD). Conclusions : Research articles assessing properties of moxibustion have been consistently published since 1993, and employed various methodologies. The amount of information has been associated with four section analysis and is currently decreasing. Research assessing properties of moxibustion with clinical effectiveness is needed.

  • 센서 및 무선통신 기술의 발달로 인해 사물의 상태에 대한 실시간 모니터링이 가능해지고 있다. 이에 다양한 분야에서 실시간 모니터링을 활용하고자 하는 시도가 진행되고 있으며, 특히 시설물 관리 분야에서도 이를 활용하여 시설물 관리의 지능화를 추진하고 있다. 그러나 센서 기술, 통신 기술, 공간정보 등 핵심 요소기술을 바로 현장에 적용하기에는 다소 무리가 있다. 현장에서는 새로운 기술이 적용되기 이전의 업무프로세스를 통해 시설물 관리가 이루어지고 있기 때문이다. 즉, 새로운 기술을 현장에 적용하기 위해서는 필연적으로 업무프로세스의 개선을 병행하여 기술과 현장의 간극을 최소화함으로써 기술의 현장 적응력을 높일 필요성이 존재한다. 이에 본 연구에서는 기존의 지하시설물 유지관리 프로세스를 살펴보고, 실시간 모니터링이 가능하다는 가정 하에 지하시설물 유지관리 업무프로세스의 개선 방향을 제시하고자 한다. 본 연구에서는 지역난방 업무프로세스를 대상으로 하였다.

실생활기반 냉난방에너지 성능평가 방법 제안 연구 (The Study to Suggest a Methods to Evaluate Heating and Cooling Energy Performance based on Daily Life)

  • 최근 건물에서 냉난방에너지에 대한 문제가 부각되면서 냉난방에너지 성능평가에 대한 필요성도 증가되고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 기존 성능평가 방법의 개선안으로 실생활기반 냉난방 성능평가 방법을 제안하며, 이를 실제 적용해봄으로써 그 유효성 입증을 목적으로 하였다. 이에 대한 결론은 다음과 같다. 1) 기존 냉난방 에너지 성능평가 및 재실자의 선호 및 적정온도를 고찰하였으며, 그 결과 연령 등의 재실자 특성은 해당공간의 쾌적성과 직결되는 중요한 요소이나 기존 냉난방 성능평가에는 고려되고 있지 않아서 문제시 된다. 2) 본 연구에서 제안하는 실생활기반 냉난방 에너지 성능평가는 재실자의 특성을 성능평가에 반영하였으며, 실스케일의 테스트베드에서 냉난방기기에 연동하여 제어함으로써 단순 실내의 온도정보 뿐만 아니라 실생활에 입각한 정량적이며, 시각적인 성능평가 결과의 도출이 가능하다. 3) 본 연구에서 제안하는 실생활기반 성능평가의 유효성을 검정하기 위하여 재실자의 연령에 따른 실내 적정온도 및 블라인드 설치 유무에 따라서 성능평가를 실시하였으며, 재실자 특성에 따른 결과의 값이 77.6%의 차이를 보이며, 냉난방기기의 전력 사용 패턴 분석이 가능하다. 본 연구는 실생활기반의 성능평가 방법을 제안하였다는 측면에서 유의미하며, 이와 같은 에너지 저감을 위한 기술 개발 검증 및 개선을 위한 다각적인 성능평가에 대한 연구는 지속되어야 한다고 판단된다.

  • PLC (Power Line Communication) is the communication method using the existing power line installed in houses and offices to convert and transmit high frequency communication signal from tens of KHz to tens of MHz, and receive the filtered signal using high frequency filter. The advantage of PLC is that PLC uses the existing power line installed in houses and offices so it does not require separate power line. Easy and convenient access using electric outlets is another advantage of PLC. However, PLC has some disadvantages such as limited transmission power, high load interference and noise, variable signal attenuation, characteristic of impedance selective possibility of frequency property. This study designed the boiler temperature control system by unit using the modem designed on the basis of technology used for PLC modem, and designed remote control system using internet. After conducting experiments with those two systems, it was possible to control stably. By commercializing this product, we can avoid unnecessary heating of separate temperature control unit, and save the cost according1y, and it is possible to control on a remote site using internet in a more convenient way.
