구강관리에 대한 인터넷 상담 실태조사 (Research on Internet Counselling for Oral Health)

  • The purpose of this study was to make a comparative analysis of dental question and answer in portal sites. To achieve this, 4,212 questions were used for final analysis after connecting to Naver, Daum and Nate, which take first, second and third place in rank information of all sites at Rankey.com, to search dental information by keyword from January to late March. The results are as follows. Naver was the highest as a portal of Internet search engines. Questions on the use of dental clinics, the quality of dental services and the offer of dental services by types of dental clinics were very important. Dental clinics had to give dental patients customized services and information to please them through dental services and dental information services on the Internet, and questions and answers on this were increasing very explosively. Consequently, Dental clinics will have to give Internet users and health- and disease-related data searchers distinctive professional services by inquiring into factors affecting portal search and factors affecting health- and disease-related search, respectively.

Improving Public Medical and Social Services Market Management: Application of Information Technologies

  • This article examines the features of improving the public management of the market of medical and social services using information technology to improve the efficiency of public activity in modern conditions. The interpretation of the essence of the categories "information technologies" and "information support" is analyzed. The importance of the organization of information support of public authorities in the insurance of the state apparatus of information management for the adoption and solution of state issues of the market of medical and social services has been studied. Issues and system of information support of public management of the market of medical and social services are considered. The stages of the ICT implementation process in the market of medical and social services are described. The tools of state regulation in the market of medical and social services and the introduction of targeted programs for the development of the social sphere and health care are highlighted. Recommendations for improvement are formulated public management of the market of medical services and social way introduction of ICT tools, which provide for the implementation of a set of measures aimed at intellectualizing the entire system public data management spheres. The necessity of development of innovative tools of public management of the market of medical and social services of Ukraine for the purpose of working out of strategies of increase of quality of medical and social services in the XXI century is substantiated. A number of benefits from the implementation of an effective process of application of information support of public management of the market of medical and social services to ensure the efficiency of public authorities of Ukraine. It is proposed to create a "Department of information support of self-government" and electronic health care system (e-Health) to improve the management decision-making process, which will provide an opportunity to accumulate, process, analyze, and as a result, get the expected effect in the form of balanced management decisions by public authorities of Ukraine.

모바일과 의료서비스 간의 새로운 융합 가능성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Possible New Fusion between Mobile and Healthcare Service)

  • As many applications are possible now in mobile environment with the trend of mobile convergence, diverse applications in healthcare industry are also possible in mobile devices. Though lots of researches on mobile and health services are introduced, they are limited to specific area or techniques. This study shows possible directions of fusion between mobile technologies and health services in the future using a data mining technique called association rule analysis. The data used in this study is collected from web pages containing key words related to mobile technologies and health services. The analysis shows that current cases of fusion between monitoring based telemedicine and patients. It also shows another case of fusion between mobile hospital and medical screen charts. These show that fusion between mobile technologies and health services already began in industry. Association rules are found between well-being, city, diet, and sleep. The association rules containing security and privacy, though their associations are not so strong, also show that security and privacy of patient information should be protected in the future. The results show that the fusion of mobile technologies and health services is expected to provide health services to more users and larger areas. It is also expected to create new diverse business models in the future.

멀티플랫폼 환경의 만성 질환자 건강관리를 위한 유헬스 서비스 모델 (U-health Service Model for Managing Health of Chronic Patients in Multi-platform Environment)

  • 만성질환자가 증가함에 따라서 유헬스 서비스는 특정 질병의 치료 및 관리에서 서비스 대상자에 대한 행동수정기반의 예방서비스로 진화하고 있다. 기존의 유헬스 서비스는 원격진료나 상담을 통한 서비스나 생체정보의 모니터링만을 제공하여 대사증후군 등 만성질환자를 예방하거나 관리하는 것에는 한계가 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 만성질환자의 건강관리를 위한 멀티플랫폼 기반의 유헬스 서비스 모델를 제안한다. 멀티플랫폼 기반의 유헬스 서비스는 PC와 스마트폰을 통하여 사용자의 위치와 제한없이 지속적으로 건강 정보 및 식이, 운동에 대한 서비스가 가능하다. 또한 임상정보를 바탕으로 CDS(Clinical Decision Support) 모듈을 활용한 처방 서비스를 의사와 간호사에게 제공한다. 의사는 행동수정 프로그램을 통해 서비스 대상자의 생활패턴을 파악하고 맞춤화된 서비스의 제공이 가능하다. 본 유헬스 서비스 모델은 서비스 대상자에게 멀티플랫폼 환경에서 효과적인 서비스를 제공하여 만성질환자의 건강증진에 기여할 것으로 기대된다.

  • 전 세계적으로 인구 고령화와 만성질환의 증가로 건강관리에 대한 관심이 높아지고 ICT기술의 발달로 인하여 유헬스 서비스가 증가하고 있다. 기존의 유헬스 서비스는 상담을 통한 서비스나 건강정보의 모니터링만을 제공하여 심혈관질환등의 만성질환자를 예방하거나 관리하는 것에는 한계가 있다. 본 논문에서는 유헬스 플랫폼 기반의 상황정보를 활용한 건강관리 서비스 모델를 제안한다. 제안하는 서비스 모델은 유헬스 플랫폼 환경에서 임상정보 및 날씨 등의 상황 정보를 활용하여 건강 모니터링 및 운동, 식이 서비스를 제공한다. 제공하는 서비스는 외부콘텐츠 제공자의 DB를 사용하는 전문적인 서비스이다. 또한, 의사는 모니터링 서비스를 이용하여 질환자에게 권고정보를 제공할 수 있다. 제안하는 서비스 모델은 서비스 대상자에게 유헬스 플랫폼 환경에서 상황정보를 활용한 효과적인 서비스를 제공하여 만성질환자의 건강증진에 기여할 것으로 기대된다.

성건장 이동클리닉 사업에 대한 청소년의 보건교육 및 상담 만족도 (Health Education and Counseling for Adolescents at Mobile Sexual Health Clinics)

  • Objectives: This study was performed in order to evaluate the quality of health services provided to the adolescents at mobile health clinics and to improve the services for them, and to figure out knowledge level of adolescents on sex, birth control methods and artificial abortion, and the effect of the knowledge levels those items on sexual behavior. The data obtained will be utilized for sex health education program in the future. Methodology: A total of 2,021 adolescents who visited mobile sexual health clinics in Seoul, Inchon, Busan, Daejon, Cheonbuk, Kwangju and Daegu were surveyed in November 2007. The items surveyed were level of satisfaction about the services provided by mobile sexual health clinics, personal opinions and experience of artificial abortion, knowledge level about birth control, sexual experience and pregnancy. The above mentioned items were analyzed by general characteristics such as religion and geographical area. Results: The study subjects were generally satisfied with the services of mobile sexual health clinics. But they were not satisfied with the information about birth control methods provided by the clinics. The subjects who had better knowledge about sex were more satisfied with the services provided by the clinics. And the subjects who had knowledge about birth control methods but did not have birth control experience were also more satisfied with the services of clinics. The subjects who reported that artificial abortion should be allowed were also more satisfied with the services of the clinics. Experiences of sex, pregnancy, and artificial abortion were not correlated to satisfaction of the clinic services. Conclusions: The mobile sexual health clinics have to continues to provide sex health education and other sex related health services to adolescents. More practical information about birth control methods should be provided to the adolescents by the clinics based on the study results. Active preventive measures for unwanted pregnancy should be provided to the adolescents by the clinics.

북미 공공도서관계 정신건강 지원서비스의 경향과 특성 (A Study on the Trends and Characteristics of Mental Health Services in the Public Libraries of North America)

  • 이 연구에서는 북미지역을 중심으로 공공도서관의 정신건강 관련 지원서비스의 경향과 특성을 살펴보았다. 이와 관련한 데이터는 문헌연구와 밴쿠버 공공도서관을 사례로 하는 관찰과 면담을 통해 수집되었다. 그 결과, 지역주민의 정신건강문제에 대한 도움요청과 이에 대한 공공도서관의 지원은 다양하게 나타나고 있었다. 공공도서관은 국가적 비극이나 자연 재난이 발생하였을 때 겪게 되는 주민들의 충격과 불안, 스트레스를 극복할 수 있도록 지원하는 한시적 서비스를 비롯하여 독자상담과 정보서비스의 일환으로 지역주민의 정신건강문제를 일상적으로 지원하고 있었다. 특히 어린이청소년의 성장과정에서 나타나는 다양한 문제(입양, 이혼, 재혼, 별거가족, 친구, 장애, 죽음, 자아존중, 정서, 왕따, 폭력, 학대, 자살, 질병, 중독, 성문제, 청소년임신 등)와 관련한 지원이 활발하였다. 또한 이러한 서비스에서 사서들의 핵심적 역할은 특정 문제를 해결하는 데 도움이 되는 적합한 책을 선정하여 추천하며, 관련 전문기관을 안내하고 연결해주는 데 있는 것으로 조사되었다.

의료기관 선택기준에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Criteria for Selection of Medical Care Facilities)

  • There are increasing interest and need for information on health care consumer with the significance of hospital marketing and strategic planning being increasingly emphasized. This study was conducted to investigate the criteria for selection of medical facilities according to the characteristics of health care consumer by the types of medical services on a sample of 1,500 population aged 20 years and above. Major findings are as follows ; 1. When considering the criteria for selection of medical facilities into two factors, namely, quality or convenience factors, convenience factor was the major contributor for outpatient and dental services whereas it was quality factor for inpatient services. 2. Females and those residing in large cities selected medical facilities based on convenience factor in the outpatient services. In the case of inpatient service, persons who considered their present health status to be good and whose ages were 50 years old and above choose medical facilities based on quality factor. 3. Persons who considered medical facilities to be profit-making tended to choose medical facilities based on convenience factor for outpatient services. There were no differences in the cases of inpatient and dental services. 4. There was no significant difference on the criteria for selection of medical facilities according to the decision maker for selection or trust on medical facilities. On the use of health service information, selection of medical facilities was based on quality factor for those who made more use of the information in the cases of outpatient and dental services. 5. Analysis using the logistic regression model on the criteria for the selection of medical facilities with the characteristics of health care consumer as independent variables was performed. The selection of medical facilities was significantly related with residential area, sex, and use of information on medical facilities for outpatient services and with age, average monthly income, and perception of health status for inpatient services. For dental services significant association with residential area and use of information on medical facilities was seen. The results of this study, despite some limitations, can be used as baseline data for marketing and strategic planning of hospital management.

대학급식 영양정보 표시에 대한 태도 및 이용동기가 이용의도에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Motivations and Attitudes toward Nutrition Information on College Students' Use Intentions of Menu Labeling at University Dining Services)

  • A menu labeling initiative is a lawful regulation with an aim to promote public health by providing customers the right to make informed menu choices. As college years are a critical period in which students form dietary habits, which are sustained throughout their lives, provision of nutritional information at the university dining services is important to students' health and life. Due to the lack of research on menu labeling at university dining services, the purpose of this study was to examine college students' attitudes and motivations toward menu labeling at university dining services, as well as their use intentions toward nutrition information at university dining services. Data were collected from a self-administered survey distributed to 484 college students who had experienced university dining services. Motivations of university students toward menu labeling were categorized into 'knowledge pursuit' and 'health pursuit'. Students' attitudes toward menu labeling had a positive effect on their intention to use menu labeling at university dining services. The findings of the study indicated that female students, or those who frequently used nutrition information, tended to have higher attitudes, motivations, and use intentions toward nutrition information. The study results suggest that facilitation of healthy eating environments at university dining services by offering nutrition information, and nutrition and health education is necessary.

How to Sustain Smart Connected Hospital Services: An Experience from a Pilot Project on IoT-Based Healthcare Services

  • Objectives: This paper describes an experience of implementing seamless service trials online and offline by adopting Internet of Things (IoT) technology based on near-field communication (NFC) tags and Bluetooth low-energy (BLE) beacons. The services were provided for both patients and health professionals. Methods: The pilot services were implemented to enhance healthcare service quality, improve patient safety, and provide an effective business process to health professionals in a tertiary hospital in Seoul, Korea. The services to enhance healthcare service quality include healing tours, cancer information/education, psychological assessments, indoor navigation, and exercise volume checking. The services to improve patient safety are monitoring of high-risk inpatients and delivery of real-time health information in emergency situations. In addition, the services to provide an effective business process to health professionals include surveys and web services for patient management. Results: Considering the sustainability of the pilot services, we decided to pause navigation and patient monitoring services until the interference problem could be completely resolved because beacon signal interference significantly influences the quality of services. On the other hand, we had to continue to provide new wearable beacons to high-risk patients because of hygiene issues, so the cost increased over time and was much higher than expected. Conclusions: To make the smart connected hospital services sustainable, technical feasibility (e.g., beacon signal interference), economic feasibility (e.g., continuous provision of new necklace beacons), and organizational commitment and support (e.g., renewal of new alternative medical devices and infrastructure) are required.
