섬유제조업 여성 근로자들의 교대작업에 따른 수면실태와 위장관장애 (Sleeping Patterns and Gastrointestinal Disorders According to the Shift Works in Female Textile Workers)

  • To investigate the sleeping patterns and gastrointestinal disorders of shift workers, the author studied 434 female workers who worked at textile industry ill Taejon city from September 1,1992 to September 31,1992. Shift pattern were divided into 3 categories ; 3 shift(shifts per 8 hours), 2 shift(day and night shift) and day work. The results obtained were as follows : 1 The average sleeping hours when adjusted for the education level of the total study subjects was 6.1 hours. That of 3 shift workers was 6.1 hours, 2 shift workers was 6.0 hours, but that of day workers was 6.5 hours. There were no significant difference among the shift workers. 2. For the 3 shift workers, the average physiologic adjusted duration in day shift (2.2 days) was shorter than that of night shift(2.7 days) and there were significant difference among the rotating shift works (p<0.001). The sleeping problems in day shift was less than those of night shift (p<0.001). 3. 44.9% of 3 shift workers, 39.3% of 2 shift workers and 33.1% of day workers complained gastrointestinal symptoms when adjusted for the age, education level, job tenure, work post. And the rates of gastrointestinal symptoms complained increase with job tenures (p<0.001). 4. The most frequent gastrointestinal diseases were gastitis and gastric ulcer with 14.2% , Irritable bowel syndrome with 3.1 %, duodenitis and duodenal ulcer with 2.1% and combined gastrointestinal disease with 2.1%. Age, eating habit, amount of coffee per day, job tenure, work post and shift pattern showed no significant difference with the gastrointestinal diseases when adjusted for the age. According to the above results, the author suggested that the shift pattern and job tenure can affect to the sleeping problem and gastrointestinal symptoms.

경기 시흥안산지역 초등학교 고학년의 스마트폰 과의존 위험 수준에 따른 식태도, 식행동 및 스마트폰 사용관련 식습관 (Dietary Attitudes, Dietary Behaviors, and Smartphone Usage-related Dietary Habits According to Risk Level of Smartphone Overdependence of Elementary School Students in the Siheung and Ansan Areas)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the nutrition knowledge, dietary attitudes, dietary behaviors, smartphone usage-related dietary habits, and health-related lifestyles of higher grade students in elementary school according to risk level of smartphone overdependence. Subjects were 286 fifth and sixth grade students of elementary school in the Siheung and Ansan areas. Data were collected using self-administered questionnaires and analyzed using SPSS v. 20.0. Based on scores of S-scale (smartphone overdependence scale for adolescents), subjects who used smartphone were classified into an overdependence group (ODG, n=52) and a normal group (NG, n=234). The ODG showed a significantly longer usage time than NG on both weekdays and weekends (p<0.001). There were no significant differences in total scores of nutrition knowledge between the ODG and NG. Average total scores of dietary attitude and dietary behavior in the ODG were significantly lower than in the NG (p<0.001). There were higher risks of ODG for skipping meals (OR=8.3, 95% CI=4.027-17.099), changing eating speed (OR=4.4, 95% CI=2.209-8.822), and changing meal amount due to smartphone usage (OR=2.9 95% CI=1.233-6.623). Therefore, education programs are needed to ensure proper dietary behaviors and habits among smartphone overdependent elementary school students.

  • This study was carried out for analyzing pathological and epidemiological factors of osteoporosis and doing pilot test using trial compounds of tuna bone and oriental herbs based on the factors. Osteoporosis is originated from osteoblast, osteoclast, organic and inorganic factors etc. Therefore the pathology of osteoporosis is not simple because the cytokine, growth factors and hormones of the components are various a lot. Taking a view of epidemiological factors of type I osteoporosis, ageㆍmenarcheㆍcholesterolㆍBMI etc. have definite relation to them. So we can approach to aging or consumptive disease in oriental medicine, specifically differential diagnosis of blood depletion with deficiency of qi, deficiency of kidney, deficiency of yin, bony weakness etc. And it should be considered together with rules for maintaining good health or habit concomitantly. Therefore IL1ㆍ6 or TNF αㆍβ are generally used as molecular biological index for osteoblast and osteoclast because the most important index is bone mineral density and strength, but the factors like collagen and noncollagen protein must be accounted as biomarkers. Trial compounds generally showed favorable effects on accompanying subjective symptoms of osteoporosis in the pilot test for menopausal woman. But if she didn't have specific symptoms of osteoporosis there wasn't any specific change. And osteocalcin was increased in case of being under standard level, but wasn't changed in case of normal level. Therefore these trial compounds can be used as a funcdonal diet for type I osteoporotic patients or preventive measures.

마산.창원지역 대학생의 거주형태에 따른 편의식품 이용 실태 (A Study on Consumption of Convenience Foods of University Students by Residing Types in Changwon and Masan Area)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the dietary habits and the consumption patterns of convenience foods by university students according to where they reside. The subjects were 572 university students in Changwon and Masan who were divided into three groups by their residential type; students living with their parents (n=297), self-boarding students (n=139), and students living in a dormitory (n=136). This survey was conducted using a self-administered questionnaire. Among all students, 22.4% skipped breakfast, and the major reason was lack of time (38.1%). Convenience food intake at lunch was 39.1%, and that of snacks was 35.4%. In particular, convenience food intake at lunch was 45.9% for students living with their parents, 30.9% for those self-boarding, and 32.6% for those living in a dormitory (P<0.01). Approximately 66% of the students said that the reason they bought convenience food was that it was easy to cook. Those who were residents of a house (P<0.001) believed that nutritional imbalance was a problem with convenience food. The students who lived in the dormitory ate frozen fried pilaff (P<0.01), canned vegetables (P<0.05), packed kimchi (P<0.001), and Ramyon cups (P<0.001) more, while the self-boarding students ate Ramyon (P<0.05) more. The results suggest that it is necessary to educate people how to buy reasonably by understanding the interrelationship between convenience food and health care and by checking the nutrition index label on convenience foods.

대학생들의 인터넷 중독 인식에 대한 탐색적 연구 : 포토보이스 적용 (An Exploratory Study on University Students' Perception of Internet Addiction : Using Photovoice)

  • 본 연구는 참여적 연구방법인 포토보이스 방법을 적용하여 대학생들의 인터넷 중독에 대한 주관적 인식에 대해 심층적으로 탐색해 보고자 하였다. 연구대상은 G대학의 대학생 9명이며, 일반적인 포토보이스 연구절차에 따라 오리엔테이션, 연구 참여자들의 사진촬영을 통한 자료수집, 사진 선정, 맥락화, 범주화 과정으로 자료를 분석하였다. 연구결과 인터넷 중독의 의미, 인터넷 중독이 삶에 미치는 영향, 인터넷 중독에서 벗어나는 방안이라는 주제에 따라 15개의 하위범주가 도출 되었다. 인터넷 중독의 의미에 대한 인식은 '자기조절 능력상실', '출구 없는 습관', '세상과의 단절', '나를 잃어버림', '자발적 감옥'이라는 5가지 범주로 나타났다. 인터넷 중독이 삶에 미치는 영향은 5가지 범주로 '건강 악화, '사회적 고립, '망가진 일상', '익명으로 인한 폭력성', '나의 발견과 삶의 확장'이었다. 인터넷 중독에서 벗어나는 방법에 대해서는 '자기바라보기', '새로운 취미생활', '주변의 도움', '현실속의 만남', '강제적 차단'이 도출되었다. 대학생의 시선으로 바라본 인터넷 중독에 대한 논의와 올바른 인터넷 사용을 조력할 수 있는 상담 프로그램 구성에 대한 시사점을 제언하였다.

교사들의 아침식사행동 및 이상적 아침식사 유형을 위한 연구 (A Study of Teachers' Breakfast and Ideal Breakfast Types)

  • We studied teachers' breakfast habits and their preferences on various breakfast types so that we will furnish data to nutrition education including ideal breakfast habit and development of various menus. The meal considered as most importantly were dinner (66.2%), fellowed by lunch(21.6%), all three meals(6.4%) and breakfast(5.8%). Men considered breakfast more importantly than women. On the contrary, women considered dinner more significantly compared to men. The group aged 45 and over emphasized breakfast and all three meal. 78.1% of subjects answered that breakfast is necessary and 61.5% of subjects ate breakfast regularly. Those who have breakfast regularly was lower in women(50.0%) than in men(71.3%). Instead, those who eat breakfast irregularly or skipping it was higher among women(50.0%) than among men(29.7%). The percentages of having breakfast regularly was higher in older groups. For breakfast, 82.1% of subjects had conventional meal which included rice, soup and Kimch. On the other hand, 13.9% of subjects had Western style breakfast such as bread, cornflakes and milk. The major reason for eating breakfast regularly was answered as 'maintain health(71.8%)'. The major reason for eating breakfast irregularly or skipping was 'don't have enough time to eat(48.0%)', 'poor appetite(28.6%)'. The major physical discomfort after skipping breakfast was 'experience brash(35.6%)', 'lack of physical strength(35.1%)'. Subjects answered that breakfast served as 'source of physical strength(64.9%)', 'provides nutritional balance for a day(21.1%)' and 15.0% of subjects ate out breakfast. Therefore, it is suggested that teachers as well as school children be provided breakfast and snack in school. The preference and opinion regarding breakfast types wer conventional food including rice, soup and Kimch(67.0%). There was a little preference in Western style food such as bread, milk and coffee(14.3%), cereals mixture and porridge(10.7%). It was noticeable that 49.1% of females and those who reside in Seoul(42.2%) selected various breakfast types excluding conventional food. Therefore it will be accepted to working women as breakfast if it is nutritionally balanced and cook well in short time.

하이브리드 앱 기반의 개인 트레이닝 추천 시스템 (Personal Training Suggestion System based on Hybrid App)

  • Fitness 센터 이용자들은 자신에게 맞지 않은 기구를 선택함으로써 부상의 위험이 존재했고 효율적인 운동 방법을 익히기 위해서는 오랜 시간이 필요했다. 이를 해결하기 위해 사람들은 퍼스널 트레이닝을 이용하지만 값비싼 비용의 문제가 발생하고 혼자 운동하는 습관을 기르는데 어려움을 갖게 했다. 본 논문에서는 다양한 스마트 폰 플랫폼과 호환성을 가진 하이브리드 앱 기반으로 개인화된 트레이닝 마켓 시스템을 구축하였다. 사용자들은 Fitness 센터에서 자신의 운동 기록을 스마트 폰의 하이브리드 앱을 활용해 가속도 센서를 활용하여 입력하거나 직접 입력하는 방식으로 웹에 전송한다. 이를 기반으로 사용자들에게 맞는 운동 프로그램을 웹에 있는 트레이닝 마켓을 통해 제공하게 된다. 퍼스널 트레이닝 마켓에는 다양한 사용자들이 운동 기록을 확인하여 그에 대한 운동 프로그램을 추천할 수 있고 스스로 선택하여 적용할 수 있다. 이를 통해 사용자는 자신에게 맞는 운동 프로그램으로 장기간 운동할 수 있는 습관을 기를 수 있고 능동적인 목표 설정이 가능하다.

사업장 근로자의 음주에 따른 영양소 섭취와 식품의 cholesterol - saturated fat index (Nutrient Intakes and Cholesterol - Saturated Fat Indices of Foods Accompanied by Drinking Alcohol in Industrial Workers)

  • The present study was conducted to evaluate nutrient intakes of industrial workers with hyperlipidemia and cholesterol-saturated fat indices(CSI) of their daily meals and various side dishes accompanied with alcohol. Thirty eight male subjects of 41.0$\pm$6.5 years whose average serum cholesterol and triglyceride levels were 222.9$\pm$37.7 and 282.3$\pm$139.3mg/이 were interviewed on daily intakes of foods and drinking habits including types and amounts of side dishes using 24-hour recall and questionnaire methods. Average energy habits including twenty six non-drinkers and twelve drinkers were 2365$\pm$41 and 2822$\pm$417kcal, respectively but intakes of other nutrients were not very different between two groups. Carotene intakes was, however, low in drinkers. Intakes of saturated fat, cholesterol and CSI of subjects' daily meals were 15.4$\pm$5.4g, 229$\pm$114mg and 27.1$\pm$10.4 for non-drinkers and 18.7$\pm$7.8g, 238$\pm$69mg and 30.8$\pm$9.8 for drinkers. CSI of their daily meals varied from 10 to 60 without much differences in energy values and were positively correlated with serum cholesterol levels(r=0.2606, p<0.05). Average alcohol intakes obtained from subjects' drinking habit was 89.5$\pm$46.8g per day and major side dish was roasted beef giving 660$\pm$234kcal of energy and 24.3$\pm$8.0 of CSI. From the present study, it is concluded that industrial workers are more prone to have hyperlipidemic diets due to alcohol. To improve their diet and health, an appropriate nutrition education should be necessary and CSI of various Korean foods and meals can be used as handy self-control education tool.

사회인지론 모델을 적용한 나트륨 섭취 줄이기 소비자 영양교육 프로그램 개발 - 포커스그룹 인터뷰에 기초하여- (Development of Nutrition Education Program for Consumers to Reduce Sodium Intake Applying the Social Cognitive Theory - Based on Focus Group Interviews -)

  • Objectives: This study aimed to develop nutrition education program for consumers to reduce sodium intake based on social cognitive theory (SCT). Methods: The main factors of SCT related to low sodium diet were investigated by using focus group interview (FGI) with 30 women who participated in consumer organizations. Results: The main target groups for the education program were housewives (H), parents (P), and the office workers (OW), for which we considered their influences on other people and the surroundings. According to the results of FGI, in carrying out low sodium diet, 'positive outcome expectation' were prevention of chronic disease and healthy dietary habit, and 'negative outcome expectation' were low palatability of foods, difficulty in cooking meals, and limited choice of foods. The contents of the program and education materials were individualized by each group to raise self-efficacy and behavioral capability, which reflected the results of the FGI. The program included 'salt intake and health' to raise positive outcome expectation. For improving the ability to practice low-sodium diet, the program contained the contents that focused on 'cooking' and 'food purchasing' for H, on 'purchasing and selection of low-sodium food with the children' for P, and on 'way of selecting restaurant menu' for OW. Also the program included 'way of choosing the low-sodium foods when eating out' with suggestions on sodium content of the dishes and snacks. Further, 'dietary guidelines to reduce sodium intake' was also suggested to help self-regulation. Conclusions: This nutrition education program and education materials could be utilized for the community education and provide the basis for further consumer targeted education program for reducing sodium intake.

일부 주부의 실내공기 중 PAHs 노출에 관한 연구 (An Assessment of Korean Housewives Exposed to Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocabons(PAHs) in Indoor Air)

  • Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are well known for strong carcinogen. However, the human exposure analysis of PAHs is quite difficult and unreliable because of hard for estimation of actual expose dose. Then urinary 1-hydroxypyrene (1-OHP) has been a biological marker of exposure to PAHs. The purpose of this study was to investigate total amount from exposure to PAHs soused by indoor occupational exposure, and residence at Seoul metropolitan area and Kyeonggi province in Korea. Thirty-five housewives were included in this study from April 2003 through February 2004. Dietary habit and general characteristics such as age, type of building, existence of passive smoking, period of residence, fuel type for heating and ventilation type were obtained by self administered questionnaire. Urine samples were collected at morning and freeze quickly. Urinary creatinine was measured for converting into 24 hr urine. Concentration of the indoor PAHs was examined by NIOSH method number 5506. Urinary 1-OHP and PAHs were analysed by HPLC. Correlation coefficient between urinary 1-OHP levels and pyrene concentration of indoor air was 0.66 and statistically significant(P<0.01). The difference of urinary 1-OHP level due to dietary habits were not significant. Urinary 1-OHP level of Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter were $0.21{\pm}0.12,\;0.10{\pm}0.17,\;0.16{\pm}0.12,\;0.17{\pm}0.14{\mu}g/g$ cr, respectively. The arithmetic means of urinary 1-OHP for four season tee $0.16{\pm}0.14 {\mu}g/g$ cr. There was a trend that urinary 1-OHP level of residents who dwelling in apartment were higher compared with detached home, Comparison of 1-OHP level between heating by kerosene and LPG, Much higher gas heating type than kerosene type (P<0.05). This result implies that the urinary 1-OHP can be applied as the PAHs exposure indices.
