지난 호에 게재하였던 Formaldehyde와 nasal cancer의 관련성에 관한 글에서 볼수 있었던 바와 같이 SMR과 PMR은 산업보건역학연구에서 가장 흔히 접하게 되는 지수들이다. SMR을 설명하다 보면 heal worker effect를 설명하지 않을수 없게 된다. 이 글에서는 SMR, PMR, 그리고 healthy worker effect에 대한 설명을 하고자 하였다

Purpose : The purpose of this study was conducted to patients undergoing shoulder surgery rotator cuff tear group physical therapy to improve the patient's level of depression and any impact on the shoulder's ability to heal should learn. Method : This research participated in 20 patients four weeks from June 11, 2012 June 8 il experiment was carried out. Experimental group conducted physical therapy(n=10) and control group(n=10) was not conducted Results : A comparative analysis of experimental group and the control group in the levels of depression (BDI) was not significantly different. A comparative analysis of experimental group and the control group in the VAS was not significantly different. ROM(flexion, extension, abduction, and internal rotation) was significantly increased in the experimental group, whereas external rotation significantly did not increased. Conclusion : ROM of external rotation between the experimental and control groups, except for the change showed a statistically significant, the above findings, the level of pain and depression, there were no statistically significant differences.

Objectives: The purpose of the study is to investigate the relationship between job stress and oral health-related quality of life in the blue collar workers. Methods: This study has been conducted with subjects of blue-collar workers who work in the industrial section located in Gyeongnam area from August 2013 to September 2013. Korean Occupational Stress Scale(KOSS-SF) and oral health impact profile(OHIP-14) were used as research tools. Data were analyzed by descriptive analysis, t-test, ANOVA, and multiple regression analysis. Results: Overall job stress and oral heal-related quality of life level of subjects were $57.32{\pm}8.03$ and $14.17{\pm}9.27$. The influential factors of oral heal-related quality of life of blue-collar workers were job demand, interpersonal conflict and organizational climate (subcategory of job stress), respectively. Conclusions: It is necessary to improve the better working condition for the oral health-related quality of life due to job stress in the blue collar workers.

Unlike human, with some exceptions, animals do not heal with excessive scar. The lack of suitable animal model has hindered the development of effective scar therapy. We previously reported that partial thickness rabbit ear wound model resembles human wound heal process. This study was designed to prepare a hypertropic scar wound model which can be employed for testing anti-scar therapy. Four wounds were created down to the bare cartilage on the anterior side of each rabbit ear using 8-mm dermal biopsy punch and histology analysis at post operation day (POD) 5, 28 and 48 were performed. As the outcome of scar formation is largely determined by the early inflammatory response to the wounding and the degree and the duration of occlusion, cephalodin(50 mg/kg) was injected daily and medical occlusive dressings were applied. Five micro wound and scar sections were stained with hematoxylin and eosin for quantification of epidermal regeneration and scar hypertrophy. Sections were also stained using Masson's trichrome and Sirius red to evaluate collagen organization and rete ridge formation. Wound closure process was assessed to 7wks post wounding. Complete removal of the epidermis, dermis and perichondrial layer caused delayed epithelialization, which results in hypertropic scarring. The inability of the wounds to contract and the delay in epithelialization in rabbit ear was likely due to cartilage and it created scar elevation. The results suggest that full thickness surgical punch wound model in rabbit ear could be employed as a reliable and reproducible scar wound model for testing anti-scar therapy.

Background: Pathologic fractures are caused by diseases that lead to weakness of the bone structure. This process sometimes occurs owing to bony change after radiation therapy. Treatment of pathologic fractures may be difficult because of previous radiation therapy. Methods: In this study, we analyzed clinical and radiographic data and progress of five patients with mandibular pathological fractures who had received postoperative radiation therapy following cancer surgery. Result: Patients received an average radiation dose of 59.2 (SD, 7.2) Gy. Four of five patients exhibited bone union regardless of whether open reduction and internal fixation (OR/IF) was performed. Patients have the potential to heal after postoperative radiation therapy. Treatment of a pathologic fracture following postoperative radiation therapy, such as traditional treatment for other types of fractures, may be performed using OR/IF or CR. OR/IF may be selected in cases of significant bone deviation, small remaining bone volume, or occlusive change. Conclusion: Patients have the potential to heal after postoperative radiation therapy.

The conventional osseointegration protocol calls for waiting up to 12 months for ossification of an extraction socket to heal before placing an endosseous implant. In this study, the possibility of placing a pure titanium implant directly into an extraction socket immediately after extraction was investigated. And the marginal bone loss of immediate nonsubmerged and submerged endosseous dental implants placed into extraction sockets was also compared. Pure titanium Nobelpharma Branemark implants and solid screw type ITI implants were placed into premolar extraction sockets of two adult dogs and allowed to heal for a period of 3 months, followed by functional loading of the implant. Radiographic examination was performed before implantation, immediately after implantation and 3, 6, 9, 12 months after implantation. The results obtained were as follows : 1. Immediately placed nonsubmerged ITI implants and submerged Branemark implants showed favorable radiographic osseointegration status and there were minimum marginal bone loss. 2. There were no significant differences in radiographic finding of osseointegration between conventional and immediate implantation. 3. Gingival tissue around implants showed more inflammatory signs than that of adjacent natural teeth. This study suggest that pure titanium Branemark implants and submerged ITI implants have the potential to integrate when placed immediatly after extraction of the teeth and warrants further investigation.

The purpose of this study was to identify calls, roles and attitudes of the Christian medical staff in a modern medical system for holistic healing through belief in God's healing methods and God's view about medical treatment. The meaning of healing in the Bible is derived from Rapha in the Old Testament, it's meaning is 'heal wound', 'restore to original condition', 'repair', 'console' and 'be heal'. In the New Testament, the meaning of healing is 'to serve' and 'be in one's service' derived from Therapuein and preserve', 'rescue', 'save a life from death' derived from Sozo. The term of soteriology originated from Sozo. Therefore the meaning of the healing in the Bible is restoring original completeness to the same as Cod's characteristics. The meaning of disease is physical, psychological, social and spiritual imbalance or disharmonious. Disease is usually depravity from moral life to immoral life and abnormal life process with accompaning specific symptoms. Medical staff were called to God's work. recognized God's will for them, and absolutely leaned on God's power to intervene and work above spatial-temporal transcendently. They use spiritual power with medical treatment skills, help sick people to possibly have dynamic and individual relation with God and help to maintain their well-being and complete healing. Attitudes of medical staff were compassion and love, virtue of modesty, strong and daring, patience with belief, healing with God's word, using spiritual insight, play. using medical knowledge and techniques, continuing spiritual training, laying on of hands and repentance.

Alumina ceramic for textile machinery was sintered and subjected to three-point bending. A semicircular surface crack was made on each sample. Crack-healing behavior was systematically studied, as a function of crack-healing temperature and crack size. The bending strength and fracture toughness of the crack-healed sample from $1200^{\circ}C\;to\;1400^{\circ}C$ were investigated. A statistical approach based on Weibull distribution was applied to the test data to evaluate the dispersion in the fracture toughness. Alumina ceramic for textile machinery have the ability to heal after cracking, from over $1300^{\circ}C$. The material can completely heal a $65{\mu}m$ diameter semielliptical crack. The fracture toughness could be explained by 2-parameter Weibull distribution.
