These days, beds have been developed not as furniture to sleep in but Healthcare Furniture. The function of heating, non-electronic-waves and far-infrared rays have been added. Also, eco-friendly materials such as stone, mud, rubber and wood are combined to them together with the radiation-heating method using heat conduction through electronic coil and hot water circulation. Modern people suffer from stress and fatigue. The hot issue is "health." Focused on the health, the development of design for beds considering the influence electronic waves, anions, deep sleep and the density of toxic materials have on human bodies has become urgent. In this study, the trend, specification and efficiency of the functional health-related electronic coil technology are analyzed. Through the analysis, the environmental standards are set. According to them, technology, eco-friendly materials and additional functions for the development of the design are considered. Also, the government is promoting the IEC international standardization for the Korean traditional floor heating style beds. In preparation for that, we adopted new HPT method technology. It enables non-electronic-waves, low electricity and stable temperature maintenance control for the warm top and the cool bottom. Also, the head boards and the frames of the beds can be separated. Through this separation, the beds can be easily moved or installed. Eco-friendly materials such as Hinoki cypress wood and red clay and the existing tables function are combined to the head boards so they can be used as drawers and display shelves. If they are used as separate items, they can be used as covers. This is how we suggest the design for the heating beds.

Nurse educators are being encouraged to intergrated the role of faculty practice into the role expectations of the education institutes. Schools of nursing are faced with challenge of the faculty who wishes to adopt facilitating practical role. Also directors of nursing department in hospitals point out the lack of competences for nursing care of new graduated nurse. This survey study was conducted to clarify the factors that faculty who engages on practice in the clinical teaching are to facilitate or inhibit. In this study, 55 head nurses of university hospital and 30 professors of nursing school were assigned to complete the questionnaire. Results of this study are as follows : 1) Head nurse : The most actively participated nursing activities in student's clinical teaching are medication, injection, vital sign checking and bed making. The problems of clinical leaching are lack of direct care of Professors, overloaded work of head nurses, passive learning attitudes of nursing students and less priority about clinical teaching of academic administrator's perception. 2) Nursing professor Facilitators of faculty practices are negative perception about clinical practice of both nursing professor and academic administrator. Inhibitors of faculty practice are negligence of the clinical teaching, lack of the practicing capability and lack of administration system on practical education by head of the school. There, following strategies are suggested for facilitating faculty practice : 1. Faculty practice focused on clinical teaching must be emphasized for academic administration. 2. Nurse educators must keep continuing clinical practice in their specific area. 3. Collaboration between school of nursing and hospital promotes effectiveness of the clinical practice for nursing students.

Patients with tracheoesophageal fistula show signs of aspiration, possibly leading to pneumonia, which could be fatal to bed-ridden patients. Tracheoesophageal fistula occurs as a complication of intubation, tracheostomy tube insertion and nasogastric tube insertion. Possible etiology is pressure and ischemic necrosis given by tracheostomy tube and nasogastric tube to trachea and esophagus; or in some cases, larynx and hypopharynx. Meanwhile, for repair of tracheoesophageal fistula, transcervical approach can be considered but takes relatively long operation time and is not appropriate for patients with underlying diseases. We report a case of tracheoesophageal fistula complicated several years after tracheostomy tube and nasogastric tube insertion who came to medical attention with signs of aspiration. Authors successfully performed repair of the fistula under laryngeal microsurgery approach without skin incision and dissection, and thereby report the experience with review of literature.

This research produced internal model tester ($2.0m{\times}2.0m{\times}1.0m$) to evaluate the field application of Paju Unjeong District water recycling system for small streams eco-friendly river bed disparity method for the first time in Korea and conducted comparative analysis of the Paju Unjeong District water recycling system field test results and infiltration rate result of internal tests by each rainfall intensity following surface material. Infiltration rate result of internal tests concrete pavement by rainfall intensity following surface material, asphalt pavement, bentonite mate, stabilized soil construction and mixed soil construction manifested low infiltration rate. On the contrary, compaction soil, grassland and water permeable packaging materials resulted in significant amount of infiltration rate. As for the field permeability test results, they were manifested similar tendency as indoor permeability test results and they satisfied the standard for standard of water permeability of domestic disparity facility (less than $1.0{\times}10-7cm$/sec). As compaction rate increased, unconfined compression strength increased as well while coefficient of water permeability decreased.

Granuloma is an uncommon benign disease that develops in the process of wound healing. Pharyngeal or laryngeal granuloma can be associated with gastric reflux, mechanical injury or trauma including intubation, voice abuse, or foreign body. 50-year-old female was transferred to our institute with a huge mass occupying the upper aerodigestive tract causing dysphagia. The patient has been suffering from a brain hemorrhage for several months and was kept in bed due to the quadriplegia with stuporous mental status, and was tracheotomized. On examination, the whole oropharynx and hypopharynx was covered by a smooth-surfaced soft big diffuse granular mass, which extended down to the upper trachea through the larynx. The huge granuloma was successfully removed with surgery and was found to have a pedunculating stalk on the oropharyngeal posterior wall with a small mucosal defect, suggestive of the origin of the mass. The defect was closed primarily after the cauterization. The patient is now followed up regularly without any recurrence of the disease.

Machine tool vibration is well known for reducing machining accuracy. Because vibration response of a linear structure generally depends on its transfer function if the magnitude of excitation were kept constant, this study introduces a RET(Random Excitation Test) based on FRF method to evaluate stiffness of a prototype HDMTL(Heavy-Duty Multi-Tasking Lathe) for large crankshaft of marine engine. Firstly, two force loops of the lathe and corresponding structural loops were identified:1) workpiece - spindle - head stock - main bed, 2) workpiece - tool post - carriage bed. Secondly, compliances of each structural loop were measured respectively using RET with a hydraulic exciter and then converted into stiffness. Finally, the measured stiffness was compared with that obtained previously by FEM analysis. As the result, both measured and computed stiffness were closely in agreement with each other. And the prototype HDMTL has evidently sufficient rigidity above ordinary heavy-duty lathes.
This study aimed at researching the process selection for two-stage and dual media filtration system, as a technology substituting the existing sand filter without expanding the site when retrofitting an old filter bed or designing a new one. In order to select the process for optimum complex filtration system, three running conditions have been tested. Test results demonstrated that Run 3 in which the 1st stage was filled with anthracite and coarse sand, and the 2nd stage was filled up with activated carbon and fine sand reduced the head loss and the load of turbidity substances. Also, Run 3 showed better performance in removing TOC, particle counts, THMFP and HAAFP, compared to other two conditions. 99 % of Cryptosporidium was removed. Bisphenol-A was rarely removed from the 1st stage of coarse sand and 2nd stage of fine sand, but 99 % of it was removed from the 2nd stage of activated carbon. In conclusion, when it is required to retrofit an old rapid filter bed or design a new one for the purpose of improving filtration performance, the following two-stage and dual media filtration system is suggested: the 1st stage of filter bed needs to be filled up with coarse sand to remove turbidity as the pretreatment for extending duration of filtering, the top part of 2nd stage needs to be filled up with granular activated caron to remove dissolved organic matters and others as the main process, and finally the bottom part of 2nd stage needs to be filled up with fine sand as the finishing process.
Purpose: This study was done to develop a postural-stability patient transfer technique for care helpers in nursing homes and to evaluate its effectiveness. Methods: Four types of patient transfer techniques (Lifting towards the head board of the bed, turning to the lateral position, sitting upright on the bed, transferring from wheel chair to bed) were practiced in accordance with the following three methods; Care helpers habitually used transfer methods (Method 1), patient transfer methods according to care helper standard textbooks (Method 2), and a method developed by the author ensuring postural-stability (Method 3). The care helpers' muscle activity and four joint angles were measured. The collected data were analyzed using the program SPSS Statistic 21.0. To differentiate the muscle activity and joint angle, the Friedman test was executed and the post-hoc analysis was conducted using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank test. Results: Muscle activity was significantly lower during Method 3 compared to Methods 1 and 2. In addition, the joint angle was significantly lower for the knee and shoulder joint angle while performing Method 3 compared to Methods 1 and 2. Discussion: Findings indicate that using postural-stability patient transfer techniques can contribute to the prevention of musculoskeletal disease which care helpers suffer from due to physically demanding patient care in nursing homes.
Lettuce seedlings used in this investigation of planting distance and labor-saving efficiency were first grown in 100-hole paper trays for 30 days. Seedling height for transplanting ranged from 3 cm to 6 cm and plants had 3 to 5 leaves. The beds prepared for transplanting were of the arched type and were 35-40 cm in width, 15-20 cm in bed height, and between-bed furrow width was 20 30 cm. Typical seedling planting depth with the transplanter was 4-5 cm, although depth was quite variable because of the irregularities of the ground. Total transplanting time with the transplanter varied from 2.6 to 2.7 hours per 10a, while it took 38.1 hours per 10a with conventional planting. It was critical that the condition of both the seedlings and the bed be adjusted to the transplanter before planting. Considering yield and inter-plant distance, optimal transplanter performance resulted with $60{\times}20cm$ or $60{\times}25cm$spacing, and the labor-saving efficiency using the transplanter was improved by over 93% of that of conventional planting by hand.

The authors carried out an experiment to determine the vertical opening of the midwater trawl, which is the same used in the former experiment in this series of studies. To determine the vertical opening of otter board and front weight, three fish finders were used. A 200 KHz fish finder set on board the research vessel was used to sound the depth of water. A transmitter of 50 KHz fish finder was set through the shoe plate of otter board to determine the height of otter board from the sea bed, and a transmitter of another 50 KHz fish finder was set downwardly on the net pendant right before the front weight to determine the height of weight from the sea bed. The depth of otter board and weight were calculated by subtract the height of those from the depth of water, respectively. To determine the vertical opening of mouth, a transmitter of net recorder was set on the head rope and the vertical opening of that to ground rope was directly read on the recording paper. The results obtained can be summarized as follows: 1. The rate of the depth of otter board to the length of warp was in the range of 0.44 to 0.25, and the depth was linearly shoaled about 5m per 0.1m/sec of the towing speed or per 20rpm of the main engine. The rate of the observed depth to the calculated depth of otter board was in the range of 0.92 to 0.080 with a decreasing tendancy in accordance with the increase of towing speed. 2. The depth of head rope was 2 to 3m deeper than that of otter board, and the vertical opening of net mouth was in the range of 22 to 19m, with a decreasing tendancy in accordance with the increase of towing speed, 3. The difference of depth between front weight and otter board was about 20m and 22m respectively in the length of warp 100m and 150m without distinct change in accordance with the towing speed. The depth of front weight was 2 to 3m shallower than that of ground rope. 4. The changing range of depth of head rope according to the revolution of main engine was about 4m per 20rpm.
