A New Artificial Immune Approach to Hardware Test Based on the Principle of Antibody Diversity

  • This paper proposes a new artificial immune approach to hardware test. A novel algorithm of generating tolerance conditions is suggested based on the principle of the antibody diversity. Tolerance conditions in artificial immune system correspond to the antibody in biological immune system. The suggested method is applied to the on-line monitoring of a typical FSM (a decade counter) and its effectiveness is demonstrated by the computer simulation.

  • For this research, we developed the hardware and software of the measurement system for on-line test and evaluation. The software controls the hardware of the mesurement data and acts as interface between users and the system hardware. In this paper, practical experiment is performed to verify temperature characteristics of induction motor for high speed rail. The experimental test carried out new temperature measurement method. Through this test, temperature characteristics of induction motor is verified.

  • The floating crane is used to lift the heavyweight on the ocean. The floating crane has a winch system for lifting the heavyweight and the system is controlled by the winch control system. The heavyweight is lifted safely by control of the winch control system. Before the make the control system and controller, there are many restricted conditions to test and validate at design and development steps. In order to solve the problems, commonly use the HILS (Hardware-In-the-Loop-Simulation). HILS is the method of test and validation for the hardware control system. It can be composed of the control system in hardware with surrounding environments which is a virtual model. In this study, we developed the winch system model for HILS of the 150t winch control system in a floating crane. Through this simulation and winch model, it can be applied to HILS for the winch control system.

  • Air Data Recording System (ADRS) is the flight data recorder for the SmartUAV development. ADRS of the low cost designed for the SmartUAV has been developed and tested through the ground test. ADRS is the reconstructing data acquisition system and can be programmed automation controller. This paper focuses on the design aspects of the hardware and software. The hardware aspects of the ADRS include details about the hardware configurations for the interfaces with the Digital Flight Control Computer(DFCC) and sensors, components modifications. The software section describes the ADRS Operating System(OS) and data flow for archived files. Finally, ADRS-based results of the SmartUAV that include the Iron-bird test, system interface test and ground test are presented.

  • This paper introduces the upper stage attitude control system of KSLV-I, which is the first space launch vehicle in Korea. The KSLV-I upper stage attitude control system consists of two electro-hydraulic actuators and a reaction control system using cold nitrogen gas. A proportional, derivative, and integral controller is designed for the electro-hydraulic thrust vectoring system, and Schmidt trigger ON/OFF controllers are designed for the reaction control system. Each attitude controller is designed to have enough stability margins. The stability and performance of KSLV-I upper stage attitude control system is verified via hardware in the loop tests. Hardware in the loop tests are accomplished for perturbed flight conditions as well as nominal flight condition. The test results show that the attitude control loop of KSLV-I upper stage is very stable and the attitude controllers perform well for all flight conditions. Attitude controllers designed in this paper have been successfully applied to the first flight of KSLV-I on August 25, 2009. The flight test results show that all attitude controllers of the KSLV-I upper stage performed well and satisfied the accuracy specifications even during abnormal flight conditions.

CTS: A Cluster System Test Suite for Preventive Maintenance (CTS: 예방 정비를 위한 클러스터 시스템 검사 도구)

  • Cluster systems have been widely used for solving problems in various application domains, and regarded as useful high performance computing resources. As the number of cluster system user is increasing, it is no less important to maintain stable operation than to improve cluster system performance. Although hardware preventive maintenance is important for keeping normal operation, the testing tool which can be used for general cluster systems during maintenance has received little attention. In this Paper, considering hardware Preventive maintenance, we suggest a testing tool for hardware of cluster system. The cluster system testing tool which is named CTS(Cluster system Test Suite) has two check routines; one for memory, and the other for NIC respectively. The CTS is designed to support the common features of general cluster systems and all the Jobs such as setting test conditions to querying the results can be done entirely within an integrated GUI environment. CTS is used as the testing tool for two kinds of cluster systems during maintenance, and the experimental results show that CTS reports useful information for cluster systems management.

  • Burn-in is a test procedure to find and eliminate the inherent initial failure of a product during or at the final stage of production process. Software testing is the validation and verification process which is used to cut off the faults from a software. The two have the common function and objective of "debugging". This article summarizes some significant models on the optimal hardware and software burn-in time, and provides the relevant paper lists. The need for the development of the unified burn-in policy of a hardware-software system is addressed.addressed.

  • In this paper, we introduce the software and hardware of the measuring system for performances of traction and braking in KTX(Korea Train eXpress). The measuring system focuses on the verification of the performance and acquisition of test data. The software controls the hardware of the measuring system, performs the analysis and calculation of measurement data and acts as interface between users and the hardware. For this purpose, three programs, such as a measuring program, a back-up program and a post-processing program, have developed.

  • Increasing use of embedded systems has made many improvements on hardware development for specific purpose. Hardware changes are more expensive and harder to implement rather than software changes. Developers need tools to do design and testing of new hardware. Many simulation tools have been made to mimic the hardware and allow developer to test programs on top of new hardware. Virtual Development Environment for Embedded Software (VDEES) is one of the alternatives available. It provides an open source based platform and an Integrated Development Environment (IDE) that can be used to build and testing newly made component, faster and at low-cost.
