A Case Study of an Activity Based Mathematical Education: A Kernel Density Estimation to Solve a Dilemma for a Missile Simulation

  • While the statistical concept 'order statistics' has a great number of applications in our society ranging from industry to military analysis, it is not necessarily an easy concept to understand for many people. Adding some interesting simulation activities of this concept to the probability or statistics curriculum, however, can enhance the learning curve greatly. A hands-on and a graphic calculator based activities of a missile simulation were introduced by Kim(2003) in the context of order statistics. This article revisits the two activities in his paper and point out a dilemma that occurs from the violation of an assumption on two deviation parameters associated with the missile simulation. A third activity is introduced to resolve the dilemma in the terms of a kernel density estimation which is a nonparametric approach.

가속도계를 활용한 뇌졸중 환자의 환측과 건측의 사용량이 라이프 케어 증진을 위한 상지 기능 평가에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Amount of Use on the Affected and Unaffected Side Using an Accelerometer in Stroke Patients on the Upper Limb Function Assessment for Improving Life Care)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 만성 뇌졸중 환자를 대상으로 가속도계를 활용하여 측정된 환측과 건측의 사용량과 상지 기능 간 상관관계를 알아봄으로써, 임상 작업치료를 시행하는데 있어 유용한 자료를 제공하고자 하는 것이었다. 본 연구는 2019년 5월 2일부터 2020년 7월 18일까지 원주시에 위치한 Y병원에 내원해 있는 뇌졸중 환자를 40명을 대상으로 가속도계(Accelerometer), 퍼글 마이어 평가(Fugle-Meyer Assessment: FMA), 운동 활동 척도(Motor Activity Log: MAL), 연세 양손 활동 검사(Yonsei-Bilateral Activity Test: Y-BAT)을 측정하였다. 연구 결과, 건측의 사용량과 FMA, MAL의 사용량(Amount of Use: AOU), 움직임의 질(Quality of Movement: QOM), Y-BAT를 통한 양손 수행의 질과 만족도는 유의한 음의 상관관계를 나타냈으며, 환측의 사용량은 FMA, MAL의 AOU, QOM, 양손 수행의 질과 유의한 양의 상관관계를 나타냈다. 본 연구는 뇌졸중 환자에게 가속도계를 활용하여 측정한 환측과 건측의 실제 사용량이 상지기능 평가항목으로써 활용될 수 있는 가능성을 제시했다는 측면에서 연구의 의의가 있다고 할 수 있다.

창의적 체험활동과 연계한 초등학교 지속가능발전교육 프로그램의 개발과 적용 (The Development and Application of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) Program related to Creative-Experience Activity for Elementary School Students)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop the ESD program related to creative-experience activity, and to examine the effect of its application. The program was composed of 13 sessions for fifth-grade class in elementary school, including all of the environmental, economic, and social aspects of ESD. This program was connected to the domains of creative hands-on activities, that is, career activities, club activities, self-regulated activities and voluntary service activities. The results was as follows. First, the experimental group to undergo the ESD program related to creative-experience activity did not show significant differences in environmental literacy compared to the control group, but it is proven that this program contributed to the improvement of learners' environmental emotion, skill, and participation. Second, the experimental group did not show significant differences in scientific attitude compared to the control group, but it was considered to affect the elementary students' criticism, self-esteem, and patience in positive and effective manner. In conclusion, more ESD program that cultivate elementary school students' environmental literacy need to be developed continuously, and more intensive research should be conducted to earn better understanding of ESD.

The Effects of Making Horcitultural Products and Selling Activities on Vocational Rehabilitation of Persons with Mental Disabilities

  • This study carried out a horticultural program for people with mental disabilities to determine suitability of the horticultural activity program and to actually apply to vocational rehabilitation. The program was carried out in 16 sessions from April 12 to June 7, 2018 with nine people with a strong will to participate in vocational rehabilitation at a health center for persons with mental disabilities. The tools used were the Horticultural Activity Performance Assessment (psychological behavior) and Purdue Pegboard Test that examines functions of hands and arms. The subjects sold the products they made during class time and obtained the profits. After the program, the scores increased with a significant difference (p = .000) in the psychological behavior area of the Horticultural Activity Performance Assessment. Hand and arm movement also showed continuous improvement along the program with a significant difference (p = .000), as well as finger dexterity also with a significant difference (p = .018). The net profit was 314,000 KRW (subtracting cost of goods 314,000 KRW from total sales 628,000 KRW). The profit was shared equally among the nine subjects, each receiving 34,900 KRW. Therefore this study proved horticultural activity class is suitable for vocational rehabilitation of people with mental disabilities proved by the positive effects. We also expect that the subjects will be able to make more profits if they learn more skills, since they are interested the process of making such profits.

중학교에서의 기술적 체험활동에 터한 창의적 문제해결 경진대회 프로그램 개발 (Development of Junior high School Competition Program for Creative Problem Solving on the basis of Technological Hands-on Activities)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 중학교에서 모든 학생들에게 창의적인 문제해결능력을 발휘하여 기술적인 체험활동에 터한 문제를 해결함으로서 창의성을 발휘할 수 있는 기회를 제공하고, 팀 활동을 통하여 주어진 문제를 장시간 고민하고 해결함으로서 협동심과 도전정신을 기를 수 있는 수 있는 창의적 문제해결 경진대회 프로그램을 개발 하는데 있다. 이 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위해 문헌고찰 및 관련 대회 프로그램 탐색을 토대로 하여 중학교에서의 기술적 체험활동에 터한 창의적 문제해결 경진 대회의 프로그램을 개발하고 이를 학교 현장에 적용하였다. 이 연구는 다음과 같은 단계에 따라 연구를 수행하였다. 1. 준비단계: 기술의 내용구조와 내용구조에 따른 체험활동의 영역 등을 살피고, 창의성에 대한 이론을 고찰하였다. 또한 국 내외 창의성 관련 경진대회 프로그램을 탐색하였다. 2 개발단계: 기술적 체험활동에 터한 창의적 문제해결 경진대회의 성격, 목표, 출제 및 평가의 전반적인 총론을 제시하고 대회의 '기획-운영-평가'에 걸친 구체적인 프로그램을 개발하였다. 3. 적용단계: 개발된 프로그램을 중학교 전교생을 대상으로 적용해 보았다. 이에 따른 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 이 연구에서 개발된 프로그램은 중학교에서 모든 학생들에게 기술적인 체험 활동에 터한 문제를 해결함으로서 창의적인 문제해결능력을 발휘할 수 있는 기회를 제공하기 위한 경진대회 프로그램이다. 둘째, 이 연구에서는 창의적 문제해결 경진대회의 성격과 목표와 출제 및 평가 방향을 제사한 뒤 이를 기초로 하여 개발된 '대회 기획 단계, 대회 운영 단계, 대회 평가 단계'의 절차에 따른 프로그램을 개발하였다. 셋째, 이 연구에서 개발된 기술적 체험활동에 터한 대회 문제는 기술의 내용구조에 따라 제조기술, 건설기술, 수송기술, 통신기술, 생물기술의 5개의 영역으로 나누었으며, 각 영역별 문제의 게시자료와 학생용 활동지를 각각 개발하였다. 넷째, 개발된 프로그램 중학교 현장에 적용하여 그 사례를 제시하였다.

예상 부하와 갑작스런 부하에 따른 정상 성인의 복직근과 요부 척추기립근의 근활성도 차이 (Comparison of Rectus Abdominalis and Erector Spine Muscle Activities during Expected and Unexpected Sudden Loadings in Young Healthy Adults)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the responses of the trunk muscle during expected and unexpected sudden loadings of the hands on the sagittal plane. Twenty, young healthy adults(male 10, female 10) were participated to two different loading conditions : expected and unexpected sudden loadings. Different weights were dropped in hand : 5lb, 6lb, 7lb for male, and 3lb, 4lb, 5lb for female. EMG activity of rectus abdominalis and erector spine muscle were collected. Rectus abdominalis and lumbar erector spine muscle activity significantly increased in unexpected sudden loadings than expected sudden loadings(p<.05). This results indicate that co-contraction of abdominal and back muscle contribute for dynamic spinal stability during expected or unexpected activities of daily living. Preparatory adjustments can be made which reduce the postural perturbation to sudden load and prevent low back injuries.

  • This study is about internet marketing of family restaurant through marketing mix and we found out the way which can make to activate by means of analysis of family restaurant's homepage. This study was done as following precedure. First, we've compared between characteristic was based on contents distinctive quality of family restaurant's homepage through the marketing mix. And in the next step, we've compared and ana lysed homepage of family restaurant which was chosed by the internet surfing. In the last, we evaluate strategy of marketing mix which is going well in the each field of business and then research of the way can improve internet-marketing. We draw the findings which is seperated by goods, price, promotion, distribution, other service according to marketing constituents. As a result of study, it is found that each company has given much more weight on some part in internet marketing's field of activity. In general, they put an emphasis on activity of goods and promotion. On the other hands they don't consider prices and delivery to be important compared with other parts. One of the most important things about internet-marketing is that fast and exact feedback and community makes each firm to be able to help to communicate with customer. It's like off-line-restaurant make use of free-coupon and an anniversary service.

인터넷 식단 배송 사이트의 내용 사례연구 (A Study on the Case Study of Internet Menu-Delivery-Web Site)

  • This study .is about marketing of menu-delivery-web site through internet which is getting bigger in working-together-couples. The purpose of this study is suggesting the way which can make internet marketing to activate by means of analysing of a certain enterprise's homepage with marketing mix method. We draw the findings which is seperated by goods, price, promotion, distribution, other service according to marketing constituents. As a result of research, it was found that each company has given much more weight on some part in internet marketing's field of activity. In general, they put an empasis on activity of goods and promotion. On the other hands they didn't consider prices and delivery to be important compared with other parts. In a field of price, menu-site just announced price but in further advance, it had better offer and compare two price level when customer used menu-delivery-web site or not. And that site needed to promote and to be advertised what customer who just think using web site was expensive have benefit in the price. One of the most important things about internet-marketing was that fast and exact feedback and community made each enterprise to be able to help to communicate with customer. For these strategy to execute effectively, first company's name should be known well and goods and service the company had should be well advertised. But first of all, differentiated strategy should precede through consistency of taste and quality, consistant information update as a internet-company and sincere homepage management.

과학중점학교 교육과정 운영이 정의적 영역 및 비교과 체험활동 만족도에 미치는 영향 (An Influence of Curriculum of Science Core School on the the Affective Domain and Non-subject Hands-on Activities Satisfaction)

  • Under this research, the survey is made on the definitive influence of the first-year education process of the science focus school for each of humanities, science and science core courses and the level of satisfaction of the non-curriculum experiment activity program for each course to find out the effectiveness of the first-year education process of the science focus school. For this purpose, this research has set three research issues. First, By clarifying the research result through the first-year education curriculum for science core school, noticeable change was observed for science focus school students through the change of attitude related to science for each desired course of students. Second, in the self-directed learning characteristics change, there was meaningful change for each desired field of students. Students hoping for humanities curriculum had great help in improvement of creative thinking for openness, creativeness and the like, but the influence was slightly insufficient in the moderation and control capability on themselves in learning attitude. Third, By analyzing the research result comprehensively, the first-year education curriculum for science core school provides high level of tailored science learning for the science focus school students and the level of satisfaction for students was significantly high.

  • 본 연구에서는 학생중심의 수학 및 과학 교육법으로 화제가 되고 있는 STEM교육의 유래와 STEM 교육을 대학교육에 부분적으로 적용하고 있는 Hands-on교육과 일본대학의 수리공교육의 사례를 조사한다. STEM교육은 학생들이 기술과 공학의 문제에서 수학의 필요성을 자각하도록 하고, 더 나아가 수학교과에 대한 수동적 학습태도를 능동적으로 바꾸는데 적합한 방법으로 부상되고 있지만, S(과학), T(기술), E(공학), M(수학)의 물리적 융합이 아닌 화학적 융합으로써 현행 대학 교과과정에 바로 적용하기에는 다소 무리한 측면이 있다. 따라서 실제 프로젝트에서 고려되어야 하는 T와 E를 졸업작품에서 스스로 찾도록 하고, 이 자발적인 발견을 수학교과목과 연계하는 Pseudo-STEM교육법을 제안한다.
