These days hair perm and dye is a modern trend that women prefer to create their own image and personality. However, chemicals for hair perm and dye are easy to damage hair. This study, then, is to find out some effective skills to minimize hair damage when hair perm and dye is done in a same time. The subjects were 200 hairs picked from five healthy women in their twenties which have not been permed and dyed since one year and more ago. The experimental group was divided into two groups: 1)the perm- nutritional treatment- dye (PNT) group 2)the dye- perm- nutritional treatment(DPN) group. After experiments, the states of "hair scale", "hair damage", and "color tone in dyed hair" were compared between two groups. The results are as follows: to lessen hair damage when hair perm and dye is done in a same time, nutritional treatments must be necessarily used on hair. To make hair colored more clearly when hair dye is done, it is more desirable to use nutritional treatments on hair.

This study is a thesis about the hair art reflected minimalism which is expanded to various art fields using minimum formative measures minimalism is a kind of modern art trend. It is analyzed theoretically that the works of this researcher approaching minimalism and consideration of minimalism about hair, flexible clothes and artistic costume. It is defined that the "hair art" is "aesthetic hair", and I include my three works approaching minimalism that are researched, extended, made. I spread the works which have minimalism characteristic by design intent, concept, title, color, ingredient, size and detail, consider the hair art works theoretically and present the basis and method of scholar study minimalism art trend. I think that succeeding studies related to the hair art should be continued. I expect that various work activities of hair art artists and scientific breakthrough via theoretical thesis about the work of themselves.

Hair style is an expression of beauty for individuals and at the same time a clear social representation. It may be regarded as a means of knowing social recognition about social values and groups of the moment. The hair style clearly discriminated so-called the new woman, emerged during Chosun's modernization, and the old woman. Thus the purpose of this study is to examine changes in social recognition about the behavioral style of the new woman by relating them with women' s movements and with changes in female education policies. Results of the study can be described as follows. First, the new women in the 1920s were evaluated positive as those who were leading struggles against Japan and enlightenment campaigns. But between the 1920s and the 1930s, those women were thought to be negative in that they were appearance-oriented, extravagant and sticking themselves to reality. Second, how a variety of social figures recognized short-hair was determined here through reviewing the mass media of the 1920s. At that time, some men were positive about short-hair like feminists while others denied the convenience of the hair style in life and were negative about the new women's individualism and pursuance of luxurious appearance. Third, there were both positive and negative social recognitions about short-hair in the 1930s. which were supported by the mass media of that time.

The purpose of this study was to find out proper evaluative words according to fashion image and to identify the correlation between clothing style and hair style related to fashion image. The questionnaire was used to collect data. 326 female aged between 23 to 40 were selected for the subjects of this study. The data were analyzed by frequency, factor analysis, pearsons correlation. The results of this study were as follows. 1. Evaluative words for each fashion image were selected by factor analysis. modern image intellectual, cold, urbane, simple, straight. elegance image : graceful, dignified, refined, decorous, luxurious. romantic image : cute, lovely, girlish, feminine, romantic. natural image : natural, comfortable, gentle, intimate, soft. casual image : energetic, active, free, cheerful, vivid. avant-garde image : experimental, strange, creative, avant-garde, irregular. 2. Correlation between clothing style image and hair style image ; clothing style and hair style was positively correlated. with the same image in case of modern, romantic, casual, elegance and avantgarde but natural image of clothing style was correlated with the natural, elegance, romantic, modern image of hair style. 3. The most suitable hair style for the clothing style according to fashion image : The clothing style of a particular image was matched best with the hair style of the same image.

To overcome the harmful effects caused by conventional oxidative hair dyes, natural colorants becomes more popular in the hair dyeing. By extracting Sagassum fusiforme powders with aqueous alkaline solution as a solvent at 130℃ for 60 minutes, a fucoxanthin concentration of up to 216㎍/ml can be obtained. UV/Vis analysis was used to prove the presence of fucoxanthin in the extract powder. A K/S value of 23.8 can be obtained when wool fabrics were dyed with the extract at 120℃ for 60 minutes under pH 2. The color fastness properties of the dyed wool fabrics were very good as indicated by rating 4 for laundering(color change), rating 3 or higher for rubbing, and rating 5 for light irradiation. The dyed wool fabric was found to have antimicrobial activity against Staphylococcus aureus. The antioxidant and antimicrobial activity of the Sagassum fusiforme extract can be an effective functional hair colorant. Hair dyeing with the extract formulation at 45℃ for 40 minutes under pH 5 accomplished a K/S value of 8.9. The color fastness of the dyed hair showed rating 3 against light irradiation, which increased to rating 5 with after-mordanting of tannin acid.

Arts is the expression of reasoning and conscious life of human and arouse human the concept of existence, utmost emotion and excellent thoughts. Also it makes humans life very abundant. I make it come first to get rid of the art thirst on the opposite sight of technical one for hair as on part of humans body. Next purpose is that to confirm the esthetic value of 'hair arts' by solidify the academic ground of beauty arts through creating 'hair arts' works and learning and make the direction for the beauty industry and education of the next generation. In this study I investigated the Greek myth and the hair styles of ancient Greek Goddesses. On the basis of that symbols I elaborated hair formative works made of metal and studied, analyzed and displayed that. Work No.1 'aphne' pictures the second of changing into a laurel tree avoiding the love. Secondly 'Muse Erato' was exhibited the peaceful figure that have enough the fine melodies. 'Leda' brings out the feature of Leda resembling a swan and the fourth piece, 'Eos' conveys the brilliant and mystery of dawn. So this study conducted based on the concept of practical hair and have made efforts to be close to theoretical manufacturing research needed at making hair arts works and academic one needed at organic design composition for pioneering new field, 'art hair.' I hope these 'hair arts' works make creativity of the practise hair alive. It will be very thankful to me if this study can help even though slightly for splendid beauty arts to make its status firm as a one part of arts, and there are following studies.

In the modern society that is advancing rapidly, the hair art is also advancing and subdividing. The purpose of this study is to investigate unique field of formative as characteristics and forms of copper wire, focused on such a harmony of hair art, the present thesis aims at developing concept of hair art as a creative way, and recognizing the formative characteristics of copper wire as analyze and arrange the concept of hair art, formative, a way of practical application, material aspect, through literature, academic journals, photo data, and researched about prior piece, for example, architecture and costume with hair art, and then pieces of hair art were made. Influenced by the theory, applied the social phenomenon and the formative principles, produced the five pieces which includes balance, composure, flying, harmony, way, spring etc. The results of this research are outlined below. Firstly, It showed that the copper wire can express the mysterious and beautiful formative world, and it could know the possibility of design. Secondly, formative activity using copper wire can differ according to approach and interpretation, and it can be a works with aesthetic value. Thirdly, hair could be express the art of the three-dimensional forms which constitute the mixture of line, surface and space. So, hair art has enlarged the fields with development of technique, and changed to recognition of the hair art, and opened up a new field. Hair art will be positive fields to maximize the possibility, and not only the beauty artist but also the public will be communicate each other.

The purpose of this study is research on the characteristics of post-modernism expressed on western hair styles in the late 20th century. Therefore this thesis analyzed the relationship of modernism & the hair styles of that mage and post-modernism & the hair styles of that mage. That will re-illuminate the same beauty worth of same age as to accurate the concept of post-modernism & the hair styles of that mage. And the last, criticizing the post-modernism design and that hair design, helping to find new trends. The method of this study was the literature research & analysis of visual materials focus on upper bust image that can know the relationship of modernism & the hair styles of that mage, and post-modernism & the hair styles of that mage. First, the literature research is composed of analysis of theses, magazines on art, clothing and cosmetology having the contents of 20th century western culture, art and hair styles. Second, the analysis of visual materials is composed of analysis of video films, slide films and photographs of books, magazines, and internet home-pages. Modern western hair styles, appeared after 1910's, is represented as a short cut & permanent wave. That express experimentalism, functionalism, and purism, that is same as the other art's trend of same age. Post-modern western hair styles, appeared after 1960's, also show the same trend with same age's. This summarized & characterized 8 categories; historical method, pluralism, negotiation, escape from the formality, recovery of humanity, ornament, connection with race, metaphor & symbolism. But post-modernism concentrating pluralism makes easy making low quality art and absence of criticism, so this thesis criticised it 5 categories; absence of ideas, absence of the social sense of responsibility, lost of one's characteristics, decline of skills, decline of worth of usages.

This study attempted to comparative analysis about the physical and morphological damage degrees of hair according to the bleaching methods by $H_2O_2$ concentration. As a result of the changes in the physical characteristics of the hair according to the deceleration operation methods by 3-6-9% and 9% $H_2O_2$ concentration, the intensity of tension considerably decreased but the elongation was increased. And the more the damage of hair, the larger the degree of change. Regarding the method of deceleration operation, the 3-6-9% deceleration operation method was more damaging than the 9% single deceleration operation method. In the change of the characteristics of the form of the hair, the control group of the 5-level deceleration hair generally showed a smooth external appearance and regular and closely overlapped epidermis and undamaged cuticle were observed. But in the 3-6-9% deceleration operation method and 9% single deceleration operation method, damages such as the irregular form of the edge of the epidermis and the unclear boundary between the epidermis occurred.

This research is the hair damage as treating a permanent wave before and after that is compared and analyzed the change of physical and mechanical properties. This is the survey of women's hair in 20 years old. On the basis of this we would like to analyze a extend of hair damage. Also, we would to show a basic data for hair damage prevention and hair improvement to keep the beautiful and healthy hair. The conclusion is as follow. : The swelling degree after the treatment was found to be greater than before permanent wave treatment. For the formational characteristics wave, untreated hair certainly had more elastic S curl wave than damaged hair in all the permanent wave treatments, and damaged hair and extremely damaged hair had less elasticity and had saggy S curl wave. The protein permanent and soft permanent wave had thicker, gorgeous, and better elastic wave than the regular permanent wave and direct heating permanent wave in all the hair condition. As the degree of damage on hair got greater, the tensile strength dramatically decreased and as the degree of damage got greater, the elongation was great as well. For treatment method, direct heating permanent wave showed the greatest effect, causing the most damage.
