  • Recently, various methods derived from the experiences and the practices to manage knowledge have been proposed. However, the effects of the most of those methods have not been demonstrated quantitatively, but only the successful cases reported. In this paper, a method for knowledge transfer in a group is proposed to evaluate the effect of knowledge management and to express a shape that knowledge is transferred in the group by the multi-agent simulation. Simulation results show that the performance of the entire group is improved by introducing a knowledge database and a knowledge manager. In addition, the experience knowledge of the entire group is shown to be lost by reviewing results of the social issues by the proposed method. As a countermeasure for that, it was confirmed that the introduction of the knowledge database and the knowledge manager is more effective than those of an extension of the retirement age and of an increase of the intermediate recruitment.

  • Background and Objectives: Currently limited information is available on speech stimuli processing at the subcortical level in the recipients of cochlear implant (CI). Speech processing in the brainstem level is measured using speech-auditory brainstem response (S-ABR). The purpose of the present study was to measure the S-ABR components in the sound-field presentation in CI recipients, and compare with normal hearing (NH) children. Subjects and Methods: In this descriptive-analytical study, participants were divided in two groups: patients with CIs; and NH group. The CI group consisted of 20 prelingual hearing impairment children (mean age=8.90±0.79 years), with ipsilateral CIs (right side). The control group consisted of 20 healthy NH children, with comparable age and sex distribution. The S-ABR was evoked by the 40-ms synthesized /da/ syllable stimulus that was indicated in the sound-field presentation. Results: Sound-field S-ABR measured in the CI recipients indicated statistically significant delayed latencies, than in the NH group. In addition, these results demonstrated that the frequency following response peak amplitude was significantly higher in CI recipients, than in the NH counterparts (p<0.05). Finally, the neural phase locking were significantly lower in CI recipients (p<0.05). Conclusions: The findings of sound-field S-ABR demonstrated that CI recipients have neural encoding deficits in temporal and spectral domains at the brainstem level; therefore, the sound-field S-ABR can be considered an efficient clinical procedure to assess the speech process in CI recipients.

  • SVC(Scalable Video coding) is the standardization of MPEG that aims to support multi spatial, temporal, and quality layers. We can support the video service guaranteeing the QoS in varied network circumstance by using SVC bitstream. In this paper, we propose the real-time SVC bitstream extractor that is able to extract the bitstream with varied frame rate and SNR quality in real-time. To do, extraction processing needs to be performed by GOP unit. As well , essential bitstream information for real-time extraction is aquired before doing extraction process. The proposed method is implemented by using JSVM 2.0. Experimental results show that the proposed method is valid.

  • In this paper, we propose an integer frequency offset estimation and compensation method based on PLC preamble correlation in DOCSIS 3.1 Downstream system. The proposed method determines the PLC preamble subcarrier location recovered from PLC data and the one obtained from PLC preamble correlation. We showed the performance of PLC preamble detection in the received signal through the maximum value detection of PLC preamble correlation. Thus we can estimate and compensate for the integer frequency offset by computing the difference of PLC subcarrier locations.

  • In this paper, we propose a new distribution and renewal scheme for a group key suitable for secure mobile communications based on identification protocol, in which all members of the group can reshare the new group common key except revoked members by using a key distribution center (a trusted center). The security of this scheme is based on the difficulty of the discrete logarithm problem. The proposed scheme can be appropriately managed in case that terminal's capability of storage and computing power is relatively small and more than one caller are revoked. It also renews a group key easily when the center changes this key intervally for security.

  • Scroll compressors are widely used in air conditioning systems and in automobiles due to their low pressure loss, minimal vibrations, and light-weight. Open-die forging with back pressure is used to forge the rotating scroll, and it requires special care since the forging die can be severely damaged at the fixed end of the spiral cavity similar to a fracture of a cantilever beam. To overcome the inevitable weakness of the forging die due to such damage, an innovative design is necessary. In this study, structural analysis using the finite element method was conducted to determine the reason for the fracture of the forging die. A novel design to avoid stress concentrations and vertical deflection, causing serious damage to the die, is suggested.

  • How to generate the precise broad group cross section is important for the fast reactor design. In this study, a fast reactor multi-group cross-section generation code MGGC2.0 are developed in-house for processing ultrafine group MATXS format library. Validation and verification are performed for MGGC2.0 code by applying the benchmarks of ICSBEP handbook, and the results of MGGC2.0 agree well with that of MCNP. The consistent PN method with critical buckling search is in good agreement that condensed with TWODANT flux and flux moment for the inner core and outer core region. For the radial blanket and reflector, two region approximation method has been applied in MGGC2.0 by using collision Probability Method neutron flux solver. The RBEC-M benchmark was used to verify the power distribution calculation, and the relative error of power distribution comparison with the reference are less than 0.8% in the fuel region and the maximum relative error is 5.58% in the reflector region. Therefore, the precise broad cross section can be generated by MGGC2.0 for fast reactor.
