A Real-Time Rendering Algorithm of Large-Scale Point Clouds or Polygon Meshes Using GLSL (대규모 점군 및 폴리곤 모델의 GLSL 기반 실시간 렌더링 알고리즘)

  • This paper presents a real-time rendering algorithm of large-scale geometric data using GLSL (OpenGL shading language). It details the VAO (vertex array object) and VBO(vertex buffer object) to be used for up-loading the large-scale point clouds and polygon meshes to a graphic video memory, and describes the shader program composed by a vertex shader and a fragment shader, which manipulates those large-scale data to be rendered by GPU. In addition, we explain the global rendering procedure that creates and runs the shader program with the VAO and VBO. Finally, a rendering performance will be measured with application examples, from which it will be demonstrated that the proposed algorithm enables a real-time rendering of large amount of geometric data, almost impossible to carry out by previous techniques.

  • A material handling crane is composed of many complex structural components which require sufficient strength, stiffness and stability throughout its service life and need to be light in weight, and satisfy the required functions under the entire range of operating conditions. In this study, the analysis system for material handling cranes is presented. This program integrate various structural analyses modules with the GU(Graphic User Interface) concept. Utilizing basic variables as input data, the analysis system performs quasi-static, eigenvalue, buckling, fatigue and stability analysis. Using this program, the designer can generate optimal design data for the cranes without my actual measurements. This system will also be extended to other mechanical structures with kinematic motion like crane.

  • The train control and monitoring system(TCMS) is an on board computer system in railway vehicles performing the control, supervisory and diagnostic functions of the complete train. This system replaces a lot of hardwired relays and minimizes the necessaries vehicle wiring thus increasing the reliability of the train. In this paper, we proposed a software design technique of TCMS using CASE tool (SAO+). The TCMS functions are implemented in software easily programmed, using a functional block, graphic programming language. We applied the compressor air module to a case study.

  • Railway sign(graphic sign, diagraphics) designs require good recognition with universality to transmit accurate and speedy information as they connect people around the station and other transport systems. An important point of signs is how to design and deliver the contents to the viewers as a communication service tools. It needs to establish design guidelines with standardization and unified system to show their contents and images clearly like common language with visuality, attractivity and generality. These requisites are important for both aesthetics legibility and unified standards to maximize the effectiveness of pictograms for the use of the general public, who require systematic suggestion and management.

  • Many applications are developed on variety type of mobile terminal with mobile tole-communication improvement. We suggest that we offer more improve multimedia environment on that development. So we design SWF player which supports Macromedia SWF file format. It is application that animation and graphic module are independent of system. In addition to, we implement SWF player on mobile communication environment. for the purpose of it, we adapt AKL concept, which is designed for the consistent interface on heterogeneous operating system environment.

  • Since anthropometric data are essential to the design of industrial products, the national anthropometric survey was performed three times in Korea. An Anthropometric Data Manager system (ADaM) was implemented based on the 1992 national anthropometric survey to promote the utilization of the data. The system provides graphic user interface to facilitate usability. Anthropometric information can be obtained in various ways by the following statistical analyses; multivariate features analysis, correlation analysis, and regression. In addition, recommendations for design parameters of industrial products were provided in this system.

  • In this paper, the Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) based on ZigBee technology was devised and developed. Wireless communication was applied to petrochemical domain, like other industries. And sensor network of IEEE 802.15.4 protocol stack diagram was described. Then, by analyzing the protocol, the software systems included the communication Protocol and point-to-point network were implemented with Freescale Semiconductor's product MC13192-SARD DSK board. After that, the performance of this design system was evaluated, and finally, by using PC Graphic User Interface (GUI) and IDE CW08 V3.1 programming tool, the real time communication data and the curve function were displayed.

  • In this study, we design a position controller for two axis servo system. The position controller performs numerical control(NC)to DC or AC servo motor or step motor, and also has a digital input/output sequence capability. The control program composed of position and sequence command, which is called channel, is programmed easily and user-interactively. And it is interpreted and the straight line and arc position command is interpolated. We develop the Z80 microprocessor based system and the software with assembly and C language, and also PC based graphic simulator for the debugging and educational purposes.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a CAD/CAM system for automatic creation and manufacturing of three dimension objects. The computer system used in this study made RAM 2M, CPU 80386, VGA graphic card. The results in this paper are as follows ; 1. By interconnect PC(personal computer) and NC(numerical control) milling machine with RS232C connector, we was constructed with CAD/CAM system. 2. The developed algorithm in this study is able to be design of three dimension object on the computer CRT and manufacturing of NC milling machine. 3. Because of design and modifying on the PC of objects, we can be saving time, cost and improvable precision of objects. 4. Essentially, we expect industrial accident to reduse according as we takes advantage of CAD/CAM system.
