Emotion Graph Models for Bipedal Walk Cycle Animation

  • Technology in the animation industry has evolved significantly over the past decade. The tools to create animation are becoming more intuitive to use. Animators now spend more time on the artistic quality of their work than wasting time figuring out how to use the software that they rely on. However, one particular tool that is still unintuitive for animators is the motion graph editor. A motion graph editor is a tool to manipulate the interpolation of the movements generated by the software. Although the motion graph editor contains a lot of options to control the outcome of the animation, the emotional rhythm of the movements desired by the animator still depends on the animator's skill, which requires a very steep learning curve. More often than not, animators had to resort to trial and error methods to achieve good results. This inevitably leads to slow productivity, susceptible to mistakes, and waste of resources. This research will study the connection between the motion graph profile and the emotions they portray in movements. The findings will hopefully be able to provide animators reference materials to achieve the emotional animation they need with less effort.

XED: Model-based XML Editor Generator for Data-Centric XML Documents (XED: 데이타 중심 XML문서를 위한 모델 기반의 XML 편집기 생성 도구)

  • Though XML is widely used, it is still hard for end users to write XML documents. A lot of XML documents are data-centric documents which have formal data format. Even novices can easily write the data-centric XML documents if they use form-based GUIs. In this paper, we introduce a new method for generating form-based XML editor for data-centric XML documents automatically and an XML editor generator called XED. The DTD consists of sequence, choice, and repetition, and this structure can be represented with Document Decomposition Graph(DDG). XED allows users to generate an XML editor by applying the presentation rules to DDG. It also permits users to modify generated editor through changing editor`s GUI properties with direct manipulation.

A JCML and a GUI-based Editor for Specifying Job Control Flow on Grid (그리드에서 작업 흐름을 효과적으로 제어하기 위한 JCML과 GUI 기반의 편집기)

  • The Grid system is an emerging computing infrastructure that will substitute for existing distributed systems. However end users have a difficulty in using the Grid because of its complicated usage, which is an inherent characteristic from the heterogeneous mechanism of the Grid. In this paper, we present the JCML(Job Control Markup Language) and its GUI-based editor, which not only provide users with ease of use, improved working environment, but assist users to execute their jobs efficiently The JCML is a job control language that improves the RSL of Globus, which defines global services in Grid. The JCML is designed to support flexibility among various Grid services using standard XML. And it makes use of a graph representation method, GXL(Graph eXchange Language), to specify detailed job properties and dependencies among jobs using nodes and edges. The JCML editor provides users with GUI-based interface. With the JCML editor, a complicated job order can be easily completed using very simple manipulations with a mouse, such as a drag-and-drop.

  • 통합정보사전은 고도의 언어처리 및 이해를 목적으로 한 것이며, 체계적이고 과학적인 방법론을 이용하여 형태소, 구문, 의미정보 등 각종 정보가 통합된 전자사전으로, 이를 개발하는데는 막대한 개발시간과 노력을 필요로 한다. 이러한 특성 때문에 통합정보사전을 구축하기 위해서는 정보를 통합하고 관리하는 사전개발 시스템의 개발이 선행되어야 한다. 현재까지의 사전개발 시스템은 사전 항목을 정의하고, 정의된 항목에 표제어별 정보를 입력하는 시스템으로, 단순한 정렬 및 검색에 의한 표제어 찾기 및 편집을 지원하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 사전의 계층화된 항목정보를 트리 형식으로 나타내어 사전의 개발 및 구축작업을 효율적으로 지원하기 위한 통합정보사전 개발 시스템인 YDK3를 설계하고 구현하였다. 구현한 YDK3는 기존의 각종 사전의 다양한 사전정보를 입력하는 기본적인 기능 외에, 항목정보를 기반으로 한 graph editor형식의 사용자 인터페이스가 제공되어, 사전의 개발, 자료입력 및 검색을 보다 쉽게 할 수 있다는 특징이 있다.

  • In this paper, we developed a Graphic Editor which automatically translated the state transition graph into state CHDL. Also, an algorithm for efficient state minimization is presented to reduce the redundancy state transition table.

An Automatic Generation of XML Syntax Directed Editor (XML 구문 지향 편집기의 자동 생성)

  • XML문서를 작성하는데 있어서 그 규칙이나 DTD에 익숙하지 않은 개발자에게 구문 지향 편집기는 효율적인 환경을 제공해 준다. 이러한 구문 지향 편집기를 생성하는 도구로서 Synthesizer Generator등이 잘 알려져 있는데, 사용자는 Synthesizer Generator를 위해 구문 지향 편집기 생성 정보 표현 언어인 SSL(Syntheizer Specification Language)을 직접 작성해야 한다. 본 연구는 웹 문서 표준인 XML 구문 지향 편집기를 자동 생성하기 위한 방법을 제안한다. 제안된 방법은 입력된 XML DTD를 AST 형태로 변경하여DAG(Directed Acyclic Graph)를 추출하는 DAG 변환기, 생성된 DAG를 SSL로 변환하기 위한 DAG 핸들러와 SSL 변환기 모듈 그리고 변환된 SSL을 이용해 XML 구문 지향 편집기를 자동 생성하기 위한 Synthesizer Generator 사창을 포함한다. SSL 변환기는 SSL문서를 자동 생성하기 위한 모듈로서 추상 구문변환 모듈 역 파싱(Unparsing scheme)모듈 변형 규칙(Transformation rule) 표현 모듈로 구성된다. 사용자는 SSL변환기와 Synthesizer Generator의 사용을 통해 SSL을 직접 코딩해야 하는 노력과 불필요한 학습시간을 줄이고 빠르고 정확한 XML 구문 지향 편집기를 생성하므로 효율적인 XML 문서 작성할 수 있다.

An Abstract Grammar for XML Document Editing (XML 문서 편집을 위한 추상문법)

  • A document type definition(DTD) which defines tags for a document is a XML document grammar that defines syntactic structure of a document. An XML document keeps the rules and must be parsed to check validation. To parse XML document, the deterministic parsing method of programming language is irrelevant because it does not satisfy the definition of deterministic content model in element declaration. In this paper, we consider editing of a valid XML document in syntax-directed editing environment, and we suggest the internal storage representations of syntax in DTD and theirs algorithms. The consequence is that a syntactic structure of textual DTD is transformed into graph and table structures. The table structure of DTD is interpreted the context free grammar which has attribute values and is used in syntax-directed editor for XML. We called this the XML abstract grammar and showed generated results and examples.

  • The characteristics of metabolic pathways make them particularly amenable to layered graph drawing methods. This paper presents a visual Java-based tool for drawing and annotating biological pathways in two- and a-half dimensions (2.5D) as an alternative to three-dimensional (3D) visualizations. Such visualization allows user to display different groups of clustered nodes, in different parallel planes, and to see a detailed view of a group of objects in focus and its place in the context of the whole system. This tool is an extended version of J2dPathway.
