The purpose of this study is to suggest the direction and recognition for applying to component of Emotion of the elementary school space with characteristics of child development. For the accomplishment of the study is to deduce types of emotional component and characteristics of child development based on literature and advanced research related to 'Child development and behavior', 'The elementary school space', and concept of 'children' and 'emotion'. In addition, The level of recognition of teachers and students about creation plan of school space by types of emotion component and preference and relationships of students on emotion component of elementary school space is investigated. The space environment has great influence in childhood going through big changes in physical, cognitive, emotional and social ways, Providing space environment built with emotion component such as 'affordance', 'diversity', 'territoriality', and 'relationships' considering characteristics of child development is most important of all, In particular, when building indoor space in elementary schools where students going through various development stages live, providing friendly environments for emotion of children put top priority on students in the decision-making process and guaranteed the participation of students is expected.
This study aims to understand the experiences of highly educated married immigrant women from China, who hold a master's degree or higher, when selecting an elementary school for their children and to explore the significance of that experience. This study included eight participants, all of whom were married immigrant women who had resided in Korea for a minimum of five years. Data was collected through in-depth interviews, which were conducted over approximately one year, from June 2022 to August 2023. The study was approached as a case study. As a result of this study, the similarities between the cases were "choices based on charactercentered education and cultural convergence", "choices for the child's future and career", and "choices influenced by the primary caregiver's use of bilingualism". The differences observed in the cases appeared in "choices based on the balance between global education ideals and economic realities", "choices based on specialized curriculum content", and "choices based on connections to higher-level schools". This study is important, as it underscores the need to conduct various research initiatives on multinational immigrant women and their children. These findings suggest that the study can contribute to the development of multicultural policies that are grounded in the actual experiences and critical awareness of married Chinese immigrant women, who constitute a substantial part of Korean society.

It is difficult to secure public lots in the downtown area, school lots can be made the best use of important source to increase the area of green land in the city. The tree-planting campaign for schools has been in force since 1999 by the city of Seoul and at present; it is currently established as the plan of school parks. Thereupon, the purpose of this study is to present some ways to revitalize elementary schools to be used as vest pocket parks through the research of elementary schools, which are subject to the plan of school parks in Seoul. The results of this study are as below : The subjects to revitalize school parks as vest pocket parks are as follows. First, the land has to be utilized for security of space. Second, in addition to the front and back gate, another passage to the park has to be set up for easy access. Third, the fence has to be formed as a hedge used outside the park. Fourth, selecting plants, species of trees suitable for the landscape of school and taking into consideration the aspect of ecology. Finally, it is urgent to enact socially and economically proper standard of law by the new standards of area for school landscape considering not only the building law and regulations of general landscape, but also specific characteristics of school landscape.
The purpose of this study is to find out the relationship between internet addiction and mental health of 5-6th grade students in elementary schools and to provide some basic data to develop a program for prevention and treatment of internet addiction. The study is the research of the descriptive correlation and the subjects of the study were 643 students from 5th and 6th year children of four elementary schools in four districts which are located in G city. The data were analyzed by SAS program with frequency, percentage, means, standard deviation, x2-test, ANOVA and Pearson's Correlation Coefficient. The results were as follows: 1. In the demographic characteristics of the subjects, the boys were 50.5%, girls 49.5% and 5th grade students were 48.4%, 6th grade 51.6%. The purposes of the internet using were e-mail 40.3%, game 37.5%. 2. In the degree of the internet addiction were 4.5% of addiction, 38.7% of addiction tendency and 56.8% of non-addiction. 3. The score range of the degree of the mental health index of the subjects' were 26-28, mean 47.8. 4. There were significant differences in mental health index(F=34.01, p= .000) to the degree of the internet addiction. 5. There were significant negative correlation between the degree of internet addiction and the mertal health index(r=0.342, p= .000). The result of the study showed the students who are in high-grade in elementary school have already addicted to using of the internet as much as the youth and the more they addicted to the internet, the lower mental health index they have. According to increasing of the using internet among the elementary school students, the internet addiction of them have increased. Therefore, it is necessary to develope a program for prevention and treatment of the internet addiction.
This study was attempted to offer the basic data required for composing a systemic education contents for health by analyzing the contents related to health education shown in the guidebook for teachers and the schoolbook for students of all grades in the current 7th education course for elementary school. The objectives and data were totally 162 copies which were 90 copies of national schoolbook for 1~6 grades and 72 copies of guidebook for teachers used in elementary schools in the 7th educational course. The standards of selection for the contents related to health education including in each schoolbook were divided into 11 themes using the health care model suggested by Kim, Hwa Joong(1995) in the guidebook for health curriculum for elementary middle high schools. The results of this study are as follows: Firstly, the total hours of health education suggested in the 7th educational course for elementary school were 274 hours and it was 6.2% of the total class of 4,442 hours. Secondly, the contents about health education were distributed into 9 subjects of The right livelihood, The wise livelihood, The cheerful livelihood, Korean, Morals, Society, Science, Physical education, and Practical course etc. Physical education had the most contents about health education and there was nothing in Mathematics, Music and Arts. Thirdly, contents about health of regional society and environmental health were the most of 53 hours(19.3%), and contents about understanding of health were the least of 4 hours(1.4%). Fourthly, contents included equally in every grades were those about safety and emergency response, health of home and society, health of regional society and environmental health.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the differences in the understanding level of the Korean traditional seasonal customs during summer (i.e. Buddha's birthday, Dano festival, Yudu festival and Chilseok) before and after the execution of a educational program concerning seasonal customs and determine if elementary school teachers recognize a need for this kind of educational program. The subjects of this study were 168 students in the 4th grade at two elementary schools (84 students each for the experiment group and the control group) and 249 teachers at the elementary schools in Yangju city. The major results of this study are as follows : First, it was shown that there is no significant difference in the understanding level of seasonal customs between the experiment group and the control group in the pre-test, but after carrying out the educational program, it was indicated that there is a statistically significant difference between the experiment group and the control group in the post-test. Second, in addition to strongly pointing out the necessity of seasonal customs education, the teachers recognized that it is desirable to teach seasonal customs to students through the discretionary activity class corresponding to the seasonal divisions in the year and that it is especially important to perform the educational activity through traditional plays and to utilize audio-visual media. Also, teachers hoped that a seasonal customs program suitable for elementary school students would be required, along with the development of instructional materials, and finally that the schools need to further develop teacher training through field inspections and practice.

The purpose of this study was to suggest a stratege of promoting school health. This study examined the historical aspacts of school health and conducted a mail questionnaire survey for 24 school health specialists who work in school and educational administration from November 1 to November 30, 2000 and the reply rate was 79.2%(19 persons). The results were as follows. The most important fields in schools were answered health related field. The most important field of school health were health education(89.5%), the supervisor of school health project should be office of school health ward in Educational administration(42.1%), and problems in conducting health project in school were lack of policy(63.5%), awareness of the importance of school health(63.2%), and budget(63.2%). They answered that the cause of food poisoning in school were negligence of sanitation of cook(42.1%) and prevention methods were thorough inspection of food stuffs(31.6%). 72.2% replied that school health project were not being operated in a proper way. They answered that tasks of promoting school health were development of school health policy, increase of man-power for school health, expansion of school health budget, systematic health education, and development of independent health subject program, connection with local society. 94.7% of those replied answered that school health organization is necessary. Common sense on health and sex education are needs to be handled most importantly in health education. 63.2% of those replied answered that appropriate time of education for health service is more than once a week. The person appropriate for health education were school nurse(63.2%). In conclusion to improve the problems of school health and to activate it, development and support of policy of health project and preparation of various conditions that can establish health courses independently is, above all, immediately required. Many efforts need to be made to make the president of schools and education authorities recognize the importance of health in schools. These efforts need to link to the transformation of awareness, and process of development of concrete method of practicing various school health education and school health is necessary.

This study was conducted to contribute to the basic data for decisions on environment policy improvement in health promotion for students in elementary, middle and high schools. This study was carried out to investigate the extent of indoor air pollution in elementary, middle and high schools in residential, traffic congestional and industrial areas. The concentrations of major indoor air pollutants(carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, respiratory particulate, radon) and thermocircumstance (temperature, relative humidity, intensity of illumination) indices were observed from June to August 2000. As results of the survey, the mean values of thermocircumstance in school were $26.94{\pm}1.15^{\circ}C$ of temperature, $68.88{\pm}5.31%$ of humidity and $268.26{\pm}164.60$ Lux of intensity of illumination. The mean concentrations of carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, respiratory particulate were $8.36{\pm}0.29\;ppm$, $547.66{\pm}175.58\;ppm$, $36.23{\pm}48.39\;{\mu}g/m3$, respectively. These values were lower than those of the indoor environmental standard on the first clause of Article 45 of public utilization service notified public hygiene of the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs. The mean concentration of radon was $20.07{\pm}17.95\;Bq/m3$. Which was below the U.S. EPA radon action level.

The aim of this study is to determine whether the 65 competencies, defined in "the role of Korean doctor, 2014", are suitable for basic medical education phase in Korea. It seeks to analyze the gap among the educational reality and expectation, assessment situation of the competencies above. We also try to define issues of the development, application and assessment phases of competency-based medical education (CBME) at individual medical schools. We designed survey tools based on the Miller's assessment pyramid (knowledge, explanation, demonstration, and performance) for each of the 65 competencies. The survey distributed to 41 medical schools in April 2015 and 38 replies were received (92.7%). Competencies that matched both the educational reality and expectation were numbers 1 (patient care), 33 (social accountability), and 49 (professionalism). However, all the other competencies ranked lower in current status than that of desirable level. 54 out of 65 competencies (83.07%) remained at the knowledge and explanation level when each competence were assessed. In the development, application, and assessment phases of CBME, common issues that medical schools commonly noted were difficulty linking competencies to curriculum preparation and student assessment, the lack of faculty's understanding, difficulty to reach consensus among faculties, and absence of teaching and learning methods and assessment tools that fits CBME. For the successful settle down of CBME, there is a need for efforts to develop the model of graduate outcomes, to share information and experience, and to operate faculty development program by the medical education communities.
This study used survey data to identify the use of salimeters and the prevalence of sodium reduction education in the Gyeonggi region. A survey with 211 dietitians working in school foodservice (106 in elementary schools, 69 in middle schools, and 36 in high schools) was conducted from August 6 to August 17, 2012. The data were analyzed using the SPSS program. Though 86.6% of school kitchens had salimeters, the rate for checking the sodium content of soup or stew was just 62.7% and the rate for checking the sodium content of kimchi and solid food was very low. Since salimeters are mostly used to measure sodium in liquid foods, it is urgent to provide an education and manual on using salimeters and to promote salimetry for kimchi and side dishes. It is also important to provide students with nutritional information by clearly posting the sodium content of food on menus and compelling students to notice them. Sodium reduction education for cooks was conducted in the 70.3% of the kitchens; however, the dietitians perceived that the cooks did not understand the importance of the education. Also, sodium reduction education for students was mostly provided through indirect methods, rather than face-to-face education, resulting in poor educational data (only 36.4% comprehending). By providing detailed guidelines for sodium reduction and labelling accurate content of sodium of the menus, we will be able to enforce practices for sodium reduction in school lunches.
