화학기상증착법(CVD)에 의한 SiC/C 경사기능재료의 증착 (Deposition of SiC/C functionally gradient materials by chemical vapour deposition)

  • SiC/C계 경사기능재료를 화학기상증착법에 의하여 흑연기판위에 증착시키고자 하였다. 본 실험에서 경사기능재료의 최적증착조착조건은 온도 $1300^{\circ}C, H_2/[SiCl_4+CH_4]=10, CH_4/[$SiCl_4+CH_4]=0.5-0.6$이었다. 불연속적인 입력개시비의 변화에도 불구하고 연속적으로 조성이 변화된 경사기능재료를 얻을 수 있었으며, 명확한 계면이 존재하지 않는 연속적인 구조변화가 주사전자현미경 관찰로 확인되었다.

와이어 송급 레이저 금속 3차원 적층 연구동향 (Recent Studies of Laser Metal 3D Deposition with Wire Feeding)

  • Recent developments of Laser metal 3D deposition with wire feeding are reviewed which provide an alternative to powder feeding method. The wire feeding direction, angle and position as well as laser power, wire feeding rate, and deposition speed are found to be key parameters to make quality deposition with high throughput. When compared with the powder feed, the wire feed shows higher material efficiency, higher deposition rate, and smoother surface. Large elongated columnar grains which have epitaxial growth across deposit layers are observed in deposit cross sections. The growth direction is parallel to the thermal gradient during the deposit process. Tensile properties are found to be dependent on the direction due to the anisotropic deposit property. A real-time feedback control is demonstrated to be effective to improve the deposition stability.

Formation of Alumian gradient coatings by Ion Beam Assistant Deposition

  • $Al_2O_x$(0$Al_2O_3$ gradient coatings were formed by evaporating pure aluminium(99.9%) in $O_2$ environment with an IBAD facility, 12keV $Ar^+$ was used to irradiate the coatings simultaneously during the deposition. Sample's composition and depth profile were analysed by RBS and AES measurement, and their microhardness and porosity property were also measured in the experiment. Results show that, the oxygen concentration in the deposited coatings has a nearly linear relationship with the inputting gas flow before $O_2$ partial pressure in the target chamber reaches $1.2\times10^{-3}$ mbar under which stoichiometric $Al_2O_3$ could be formed; and sample's microhardness and porosity property is affected significantly by the oxygen concentration in the coatings.

  • 조성경사법을 이용하여 LMO/IBAD-MgO template 상에 EDDC 증착법을 이용하여 $Sm_{1+x}Ba_{2-x}Cu_{3+y}O_{7-d}$ 초전도 박막을 증착하였다. 테이프 형상의 기판상에 길이방향으로 $Sm_{1+x}Ba_{2-x}Cu_{3+y}O_{7-d}$ 박막의 조성비가 연속적으로 변하는 샘플을 얻을 수 있었고, 비접촉 Hallprobe를 이용하여 임계전류를 측정한 결과 조성비에 대응하는 연속적인 임계전류분포를 측정할 수 있었다. 본 조성비 영역 중 Sm:Ba:Cu = 1.01:1.99 :4.87의 조성비에서 최대의 임계전류를 보였다. 이 조성비에서 SmBCO 박막표면에 전체적으로 roof tile 형상의 결정립들이 관찰되었으며 국소적으로 2차상들이 관찰되었다. 조성 경사법을 이용하면 광범위한 조성비영역에서 신뢰도 높은 초전도특성, 결정배향성, 박막표면 형상 등을 조사할 수 있을 것으로 예상된다.

  • Hemosiderosis is characterized by the deposition of excess iron in body tissues. The choroid plexus is an important part of the central nervous system that can be the primary site of iron overload. T2*-weighted gradient echo (GRE) sequence provides high sensitivity for demonstrating cerebral microhemorrhagic foci and iron deposition. In the present study, we describe the case of a 15-year-old boy with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, in whom repeated transfusion led to iron accumulation in the brain. GRE sequence effectively demonstrated hemosiderin deposition in the choroid plexus.

Drained End Shield Effects on Heat Deposition Rate Distribution in CANDU 6 Reactor End Shield Structure

  • The loss of water in the carbon steel balls and water region of the end shield for CANDU 6 reactor could lead to significant temperature gradient through the end shield structure which amy result in the excessive deformation. With an assumed end shield drained scenario, the heat deposition rates were calculated through the end shield associated with the central fuel channel during full power operation as an initial step to thermal stress analysis. The drained case was compared with that of water present normal case in therms of heat deposition rater and the total heating throughout the end shield regions. The compared results show that the heat deposition and the total heating remain almost the same between the two cases. It was found that the change of volume integrated flux in the end shield regions due to the loss of water contribute a negligible effect on the heat deposition in this region.

외부증착공정에서의 열영동에 의한 입자부착에 관한 3차원 해석 (Three-dimensional analysis of the thermophoretic particle deposition in the OVD process)

  • Three-dimensional conjugate heat transfer and particle deposition on a circular cylinder in the OVD process are numerically investigated. Flow and temperature fields are obtained by an iterative method, and thermophoretic particle deposition is simulated. Effects of the heat conduction in the cylinder, the rotation speed of the cylinder, and the traversing speed of torch on the deposition are studied. Effects of variable properties are also included. As the conductivity of the cylinder decreases, particle deposition rate and deposition efficiency greatly decrease due to the reduced temperature gradient. The rotation of the cylinder has no significant effect on the deposition due to the small diameter of the cylinder and low speed of rotation. Since the increase of the torch speed keeps the surface low temperature, the particle deposition increases with the traversing speed.

기공 경사화된 나노 구조의 니켈-구리 거품 전극 (Pore Gradient Nickel-Copper Nanostructured Foam Electrode)

  • 기공 경사화된 마이크론 단위의 구조 틀 및 나노 수지상 구조 벽을 가지는 니켈-구리 거품 전극을 전기화학적인 방법으로 합성하였다. 전해 도금 시 순수한 니켈은 치밀한 층으로 성장하는 양상을 보였으나, 구리와 함께 도금시키는 경우 그 성장 양상이 순수한 니켈과는 매우 다르게 관찰되었다. 특히, 첨가제로써 염소 이온의 농도가 증가함에 따라 니켈-구리 도금 층의 수지상 성장이 뚜렷해지는 모습을 보였다. 또한, 기재와 먼 부분일수록 도금 층 내 구리 대비 니켈의 상대적인 양이 감소하였으며, 염소 이온 농도가 높아짐에 따라 전 도금 층에 걸쳐 니켈의 양이 증가하였다. 수지상 구조 벽의 가지 내부 조성을 분석한 결과, 중심부로 갈수록 구리 함량이 점차 높아지는 조성 구배를 확인하였으며, 적절한 열처리를 통해 상호 확산을 유도하여 균일한 조성의 니켈-구리 합금을 얻어낼 수 있었다. 본 연구를 통해 제작된 재료는 기능성 전기 화학 장치용 고성능 전극에 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

수직 원통형 CVD 반응로에서 박막의 균일성과 증착률 최적화에 대한 수치해석적 연구 (Numerical Analysis for Optimization of Film Uniformity and Deposition Grow Rate in the Vertical Cylindric Reactor)

  • This work investigated the optimal condition for an uniform deposition growth rate in the vertical cylindric CVD chamber. Heat transfer, surface chemical reaction and mass diffusion in the flow field of CVD chamber h,id been computed using Fluent v5.3 code. A SIMPLE based finite Volume Method (FVM) was adopted to solve the fully elliptic equations for momentum, temperature and concentration of a chemical species. The numerical analysis results show good agreements with the measurements obtained by N. Yoshikawa. The results obtained by the numerical analysis showed that the film growth rate in the center of a susceptor is increasing, as the inner flow approaches to the forced convection. To the contrast, as it approaches to the natural convection, that in the outside of a susceptor is increasing. As the Reynolds number increases, the uniformity may not hold due to the larger temperature gradient at a susceptor surface. Therefore, when the temperature gradient on the surface of a susceptor is zero, the film growth rate becomes uniform on most surface.

Tailored Powder Composites by Freeze Drying, Electrophoretic Deposition and Sintering

  • Two approaches for the fabrication of tailored powder composites with specially distributed pore-grain structure and chemical composition are investigated. Electrophoretic Deposition (EPD) followed by microwave sintering is employed to obtain functionally graded materials (FGM) by in-situ controlling the deposition bath suspension composition. $Al_2O_3/ZrO_2$ and zeolite FGM are successfully synthesized using this technique. In order to fabricate an aligned porous structure, unidirectional freezing followed by freeze drying and sintering is employed. By controlling the temperature gradient during freezing of powder slurry, a unidirectional ice-ceramic structure is obtained. The frozen specimen is then subjected to freeze drying to sublimate the ice. The obtained capillary-porous ceramic specimen is consolidated by sintering. The sintering of the graded structure is modeled by the continuum theory of sintering.
