We have synthesized a 17-residue peptide with the amino acid sequence RQMKEDAKGKSEEELAD corresponding to residues 84-100 of chicken skeletal troponin C. This stretch of the protein sequence is in the middle one-third of the 32-residue 9-turn α-helix that connects the two globular domains of the dumbell-shaped molecule and includes the D/E linker helix. We describe here the solution conformation of the helix linker as studied by circular dichroism (CD) and two-dimensional nuclear magnetic resonance (2-D NMR) spectroscopy. The NOE connectivities together with the vicinal $^3J_{N{\alpha}}$ coupling constants suggest that the peptide exists in a fast conformational equilibrium among several secondary structure: a nascent helix near the N-terminus, a helix, and a substational population of extended and random coil forms. In addition, two interresidue α-α NOEs are observed suggesting a bent structure with a bend that includes the single glycine in position 92. These results are consistent with the ideas that in neutral solution the D/E linker region of the central helix in troponin C can adopt a helical conformation and the central helix may have a segmental flexibility around Gly 92.
Recent investigations of the double red clump in the color-magnitude diagram of the Milky Way bulge cast serious doubts on the structure and formation origin of the outer bulge. Unlike previous interpretation based on an X-shaped bulge, stellar evolution models and CN-band observations have suggested that this feature is another manifestation of the multiple stellar population phenomenon observed in globular clusters (GCs). This new scenario requires a significant fraction of the outer bulge stars with chemical patterns uniquely observed in GCs. Here we show from homogeneous high-quality spectroscopic data that the red giant branch stars in the outer bulge ($>5.5^{\circ}$ from the Galactic center) are clearly divided into two groups according to Na abundance in the [Na/Fe] - [Fe/H] plane. The Na-rich stars are also enhanced in Al, while the differences in O and Mg are not observed between the two Na groups. The population ratio and the Na and Al differences between the two groups are also comparable with those observed in metal-rich GCs. Since these chemical patterns and characteristics are only explained by stars originated in GCs, this is compelling evidence that the outer bulge was mostly assembled from disrupted proto-GCs in the early history of the Milky Way. We will also discuss the implications of this result on the formation of the early-type galaxies in general.

Improvement of heat sink technology related to the continuous implementation performance and extension of device-life in circumstance of easy heating and more compact space has been becoming more important issue as multi-functional integration and miniaturization trend of electronic gadgets and products has been generalized. In this study, it purposed to minimize of decline of the heat diffusivity by gluing polymer through compounding of inorganic particles which have thermal conductive properties. We used NH-9300 as base resin and used inorganic fillers such as silicon carbide(SiC), aluminum nitride(AlN), and boron nitride(BN) to improve heat diffusivity. After making film which was made from 100 part of acrylic resin mixed hardener(1.0 part more or less) with inorganic particles. The film was matured at $80^{\circ}C$ for 24h. Diffusivity were tested according to sorts of particles and density of particles as well as size and structure of particle to improve the effect of heat sink in view of morphology assessing diffusivity by LFA(Netzsch/LFA 447 Nano Flash) and adhesion strength by UTM(Universal Testing Machine). The correlation between diffusivity of pure inorganic particles and composite as well as the relation between density and morphology of inorganic particles has been studied. The study related morphology showed that globular type had superior diffusivity at low density of 25% but on the contarary globular type was inferior to non-globular type at high density of 80%.

The heterogeneous nucleation of the ${\Theta}^{\prime}$ phase on nanoscale precipitates has been investigated using a combination of three-dimensional atom probe tomography and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy. Two types of ${\Theta}^{\prime}$ phases were observed, namely small (~2 nm thick) cylindrical precipitates and larger (~100 nm) globular precipitates and both appear to be heterogeneously nucleated on the nanoscale precipitates. The composition and crystal structure of precipitates were directly analyzed by combination of two advanced characterization techniques.
Dynamic properties of proteins can present key information on protein-ligand and protein-protein interaction. Despite their usefulness, the properties of protein dynamics have not been obtained easily due to protein stability and short-term measurement. Here, it is shown that combined method for analysis of dynamical properties. It utilizes predicted order parameter and NMR relaxation data such as $T_1$, $T_2$, and heteronuclear NOE. The suggested method could be used to know the flexibility of protein roughly without precise dynamical parameters such as order parameters through model-free analysis.
The molten globular conformation of V26A ubiquitin (valine to alanine mutation at residue 26) was studied by nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy in conjunction with amide hydrogen/deuterium exchange. Most of the amide protons that are involved in the native secondary structures were observed to be protected in the molten globule state with the protection factors from 1.2 to 6.7. These protection factors are about 2 to 6 orders of magnitude smaller than those of the native state. These observations indicate that V26A molten globule has native-like backbone structure with marginal stability. The comparison of amide protection factors of V26A ubiquitin molten globule state with those of initial collapsed state of the wild type ubiquitin suggests that V26A ubiquitin molten globule state is located close to unfolded state in the folding reaction coordinate. It is considered that V26A ubiquitin molten globule is useful model to study early events in protein folding reaction.

In this study, the morphology of the change of primary Al phase in A356 alloy by two kinds of electromagnetic stirrers(vertical and horizontal) were investigated to obtain the globular structure. The effects of the stirring current, the stirring time and the pouring temperature were determined. The greater stirring current and longer stirring time were to get the finer the Al phase. However, over a certain stirring current and stirring time, the primary Al was merged together and was increased. The reason is the degree of breakdown of initial dendrites has been decreased by the collision and coalescence of particles with increasing stirring current and stirring time. The optimum conditions and difference of the two kinds of electromagnetic stirrers have been investigated for rheology forming with controlled solid fraction.
Legumin was purified from the endosperm cells of the ginseng seed and analyzed its characteristics. Distributional patterns of the legumin in the endosperm cells were identified using the immunocytochemical method. Legumin was glycoprotein composed of two subunits, molecular weights about 33,000 and 25,000 respectively. The molecular shape of purified legumin stained negatively seems to have hexagonal structure about 10 nm in size. It was localized at the rER, dictyosomes, and in the vacuoles at the early developing stage. Legumin was glycosylated in the dictyosomes and transported from the dictyosomes to the vacuoles. Legumin was accumulated into the central vacuole via the dictyosomes while the endosperm cells were developing. The armorphous proteins containing legumin were scattered randomly within the central vacuoles, which were aggregated together and became gradually spherical shape. Legumin was distributed within the globular protein bodies in the endosperm cells of matured seed. However legumin was not found in the globoids located in the protein bodies.

Apply electromagnetic stirring system to making rheology slurry of Al7075. This experiment has important element which is the relation between solid fraction percent and melt temperature of Al7075. The rheology slurry of Al7075 eliminated liquid phase to include alloying element of copper and zinc by squeeze casting process. In result the most structure was composed entirely of globular primary $\alpha$. Used this material for this study. This study made a comparison of mechanical property according to heat treatment T6 at each melt temperature ($619^{\circ}C$ and $615^{\circ}C$). The microstructure and component are observed how heat treatment T6 weight with the mechanical property by SEM-EDS.

PDZ domains are molecular-recognition elements that mediate protein-protein interactions. The PDZ domain was discovered originally as a common motif present in three structurally related proteins: PSD-95 (postsynaptic density protein), Dlg (discs-large protein) and ZQ-1 (zonula occludens-1). The PDZ domain is globular domain, containing about 80-100 amino acids, and a conserved motif with two alpha helices and six beta strands. Most of them bind selectively to the C-termini of the interacting proteins at the complexes of signaling molecules and membrane associated receptors.(omitted)
