In the multi-agent system for a single task, the action selection can be made for the real-time environment by using the global coordination space, global coordination graph and MAX-PLUS algorithm. However, there are some difficulties in multi-agent system for multi-tasking. In this paper, a real-time decision making method is suggested by using coordination space, coordination graph and dynamic coordinated state of multi-agent system including many agents and multiple tasks. Specifically, we propose locally dynamic coordinated state to effectively use MAX-PLUS algorithm for multiple tasks completion. Our technique is shown to be valid in the box pushing simulation of a multi-agent system.
We proposed a conceptual design of the web-based agent model for global supply chain management(GSCM), where agents representing autonomous operational units, such as suppliers, factories, distribution center and customers, cooperate and are coordinated through the information exchange. The agent model assumed the hierarchical federated system. In the federated system, the agents of the same region are grouped and linked to the region-specific facilitator only through which communication between agents is allowed. The facilitator is responsible for monitoring and controlling the conversations consisting of the message flows across the agents. A web-based user presentation was also designed so that human users could involve in collaborative settings into the GSCM multi-agent system. In the conversation protocols which allow for complex coordinated behavior among agents, the KQML was extended to represent the messages. A GSCM scenario where the supply chain is formed upon customer order and supply decision is made was used to demonstrate the dynamics of the conversation protocols.
In this paper, an improved detection system for the network vulnerability scan attacks is proposed. The proposed system improves the methodology for detecting the network vulnerability scan attacks and provides a global detection and response capability that can counter attacks occurring across an entire network enterprize. Through the simulation, we show that the proposed system can detect vulnerable port attacks, coordinated attacks, slow scans and slow coordinated attacks. We also show our system can achieve more global and hierarchical response to attacks through the correlation between server and agents than a stand-alone system can make.
A computer clock has limits in accuracy and precision affected by its inherent instability, the environment elements, the modification of users, and errors of the system. So the computer clock needs to be synchronized with a standard clock if the computer system requires the precise time processing. The purpose of synchronizing clocks is to provide a global time base throughout a distributed system. Once this time base exists, transactions among members of distributed system can be controlled based on time. This paper discusses the integrated approach to clock synchronization. An embedded system is considered for time synchronization based on the GPS(Global Positioning System) referenced time distribution model. The system uses GPS as standard reference time source and offers UTC(Universal Time Coordinated) through NTP(Network Time Protocol). A clock model is designed and adapted to keep stable time and to provide accurate standard time with precise resolution. Private MIB(Management Information Base) is defined for network management. Implementation results and performance analysis are also presented.

This paper proposes a new time synchronization scheme for the Automatic Identification System(AIS). The proposed scheme utilizes a Temperature Compensated Crystal Oscillator(TCXO) as a local reference clock, and consists of a Digitally Controlled Oscillator(DCO), a divider, a phase comparator, and register blocks. Primary time reference is IPPS from GPS receiver that is synchronized to Universal Time Coordinated(UTC). And if GPS is unavailable, other station's signal is utilized as secondary time reference. The phase comparator measures time difference between the 1PPS and the generated transmit clock. The measured time difference is compensated by controlling the DCO and the transmit clock is synchronized to the Universal Time Coordinated(UTC). The synchronized transmit clock(9600Hz) is divided into the transmitting time slot(37.5Hz). The proposed scheme is tested in an experimental AIS transponder set. The experimental result shows that the proposed module satisfies the timing specification of the AIS technical standard, ITU-R M.1371-1.
This paper presents efficient parallel genetic algorithm (EPGA) based decomposed network for optimal power flow with various kinds of objective functions such as those including prohibited zones, multiple fuels, and multiple areas. Two coordinated sub problems are proposed: the first sub problem is an active power dispatch (APD) based parallel GA; a global database generated containing the best partitioned network: the second subproblem is an optimal setting of control variables such as generators voltages, tap position of tap changing transformers, and the dynamic reactive power of SVC Controllers installed at a critical buses. The proposed approach tested on IEEE 6-bus, IEEE 30-bus and to 15 generating units and compared with global optimization methods (GA, DE, FGA, PSO, MDE, ICA-PSO). The results show that the proposed approach can converge to the near solution and obtain a competitive solution with a reasonable time.

Precise time synchronization is a main technology in high-speed communications, parallel and distributed processing systems, Internet information industry and electronic commerce. Synchronized clocks are useful for many leasers. Often a distributed system is designed to realize some synchronized behavior, especially in real-time processing in factories, aircraft, space vehicles, and military applications. Nowadays, time synchronization has been compulsory thing as distributed processing and network operations are generalized. A network time server obtains, keeps accurate and precise time by synchronizing its local clock to standard reference time source and distributes time information through standard time synchronization protocol. This paper describes design issues and implementation of a network time server for time synchronization especially based on a clock model. The system uses GPS (Global Positioning System) as a standard reference time source and offers UTC (universal Time coordinated) through NTP (Network Time protocol). Implementation result and performance analysis are also presented.
A number of studies have been performed to analyze climate change impacts of water resources system. In this study, a coordinated dam operation is compared with an existing operation strategy for coping with projected future runoff scenarios. GCMs (Global Circulation Models) and the LARS-WG downscaling method was used to project future climate scenarios. The water balance model called abcd was employed to estimate future runoff scenarios. The existing dam operation comes from the national dam construction guideline, which is called the "level-operation method." The alternative coordinated dam operation are constructed as a linear programming using New York City rule for refill and drawdown seasons. The results of annual total inflow in future is projected to decrease to 72.81% for Andong dam basin and 65.65% for Imha dam basin. As a result of applying future runoff scenarios into the dam operation model, the reliability of coordinated dam operation, 62.22%, is higher than the reliability of single dam operation, 46.55%. Especially, the difference gets larger as the reliability is low because of lack of water. Therefore, the coordinated operation in the Andong & Imha dams are identified as more appropriate alternative than the existing single operation to respond to water-level change caused by climate change.
Russia's push in the Asia-Pacific region stems from its interests that have the national, regional and global dimensions. In their turn, the aims of this policy are civilizational, geopolitical, economic and prospective, with a long-term outlook. In the course of their achievement, cooperation with Northeast Asia's countries will play one of the key roles owing to the factors of geographic proximity, Northeast Asia's economic potential, risk hedging and a growing influence Northeast Asia exerts upon the global development. A new cooperation paradigm between Russia and the states of Northeast Asia should be based upon establishing and cementing self-reproducing ties. This is the central aim of Russian initiatives in relations, with Japan, the Republic of Korea, Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Mongolia and China. However, numerous obstacles ranging from Russia's absence in the regional free trade agreements and supply-production chains of value-added production to the permanent international instability generated by Pyongyang's missile-nuclear developments hamper the practical implementation of this task. Realizing the necessity to give an additional impetus to this new cooperative paradigm, Russia has to develop directions with an apparent consolidating effect. The most promising may be the establishment of a permanent security forum based upon Northeast Asia Peace and Security Mechanism chaired by the Russian Federation. The urgency of this measure and its expected support stem from the necessity to strengthen security in Northeast Asia, a task neither the US-led hub-and-spoke system nor ASE-AN-led multilateral dialogue venues have been able to resolve. The issues addressed at the security forum must include the unification of approaches to North Korean nuclear issue and producing a document specifying actions of the claimants on the disputed maritime territories in the "direct contact" situations. At the expert level, Russia has elaborated on the idea to establish such a forum outlining the spectrum of the key directions of cooperation. With the urgency in the establishment of this dialogue venue, its agenda has to be coordinated with the agendas of the existing security systems presented by the US alliances and the ASE-AN-led multilateral negotiations. The practical implementation of this initiative will strengthen security in Northeast Asia as its challenges will be resolved in the pre-emptive way based on coordinated approaches. Therefore, Russia as the Eurasian state will be one of the role players in the advent of the Asian century.
