The possibility of ship detection monitoring at operational level using KOMPSAT-5 Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) and Automatic Identification System (AIS) data is investigated. For the analysis, the KOMPSAT-5 SLC images, which are collected from the west coast of Shinjin port and the northern coast of Jeju port are used along with portable AIS data from near the coast. The ship detection algorithm based on HVAS (Human Visual Attention System) was applied, which has significant advantages in terms of detection speed and accuracy compared to the commonly used CFAR (Constant False Alarm Rate). As a result of the integrated analysis, the ship detection from KOMPSAT-5 and AIS were generally consistent except for small vessels. Some ships detected in KOMPSAT-5 but not in AIS are due to the data absence from AIS, while it is clearly visible in KOMPSAT-5. Meanwhile, SAR imagery also has some false alarms due to ship wakes, ghost effect, and DEM error (or satellite orbit error) during object masking in land. Improving the developed ship detection algorithm and collecting reliable AIS data will contribute for building wide integrated surveillance system of marine territory at operational level.
In this paper, we propose a new method for detection moving object contour using spatial and temporal edge. In general, contour pixels of the moving object are likely present around pixels with high gradient value along the time axis and the spatial axis. Therefore, we can detect the contour of the moving objects by finding pixels which have high gradient value in the time axis and spatial axis. In this paper, we introduce a new computation method, termed as temporal edge, to compute an gradient value along the time axis for any pixel on an image. The temporal edge can be computed using two input gray images at time t and t-2 using the Sobel operator. Temporal edge is utilized to detect a candidate region of the moving object contour and then the detected candidate region is used to extract spatial edge information. The final contour of the moving object is detected using the combination of these two edge information, which are temporal edge and spatial edge, and then the post processing such as a morphological operation and a background edge removing procedure are applied to remove noise regions. The complexity of the proposed method is very low because it dose not use any background scene and high complex operation, therefore it can be applied to real-time applications. Experimental results show that the proposed method outperforms the conventional contour extraction methods in term of processing effort and a ghost effect which is occurred in the case of entropy method.
Examination of the morphology of red blood cells in the urine has been shown to be a promising adjunct in determining whether hematuria represents glomerular or nonglomerular bleeding. This is due to distortion of RBCs as they Pass across the basement membrane of the glomerular capillaries. It is concluded that is method can greatly help the clinician in distinguishing between glomerular and nonglomerular bleeding in patients with hematuria and channeling such patients toward the most appropriate investigations. We have experimented dysmorphic red blood cells that 5 patients of the hematuria are distorted with irregular outlines and often have small blobs extruding from the red cell membrane. Tried urinary sediments were seen with phase contrast microscope and confirmed scanning electron microscope. There are seen acanthocytes, anulocytes, ghost cells and sphero-echinocytes in dysmorphic erythrocytes. Clinical diagnosis was referred from the result of the biopsy-proven. Scanning electron microscopic findings of the hematuria are good diagnostic tool that disclose in distorted red blood cells from patients with glomerular disorders.

This study was aimed not only to develop the gill net and trap made of biodegradable monofilaments in order to prevent a ghost fishing and to protect marine ecosystem, but also to analyze their spinning process and physical properties. Results showed that the spinning speed of biodegradable polybutylene succinate(PBS) monofilament was estimated to be approximately 100m/min when spinning temperature and cooling water temperature were adjusted at $180^{\circ}C$ and $3^{\circ}C$, respectively. The breaking loads of PBS monofilaments were estimated to be $35.3kg/mm^2$ at ${\phi}0.2mm$, $46.5kg/mm^2$ at ${\phi}0.3mm$, and $49.7kg/mm^2$ at ${\phi}0.4mm$ in the dry condition, respectively. However, its breaking loads in the wet condition were reduced by 2.4-5.5%, compared to those in the dry condition. The knotted strength of PBS monofilament at ${\phi}0.2mm$ was estimated to be 98.6% of PE in the dry condition. The breaking load of PBS monofilament at ${\phi}0.3mm$ was evaluated to be 81.8% of PA, and its softness showed 3 times less than that of PA in the wet condition. The breaking load of PBS monofilament at ${\phi}0.4mm$ was 95.3% of PA, and its softness showed 1.6 times less than that of PA in the wet state. However, the load elastic elongations of two kinds of monofilaments were estimated to be 1% higher than that of PA.

The calcifying odontogenic cyst(COC) showed diverse terminology or classification, clinicopathologic features as well as in its biologic behavior, although it was recognized as a distinct clinicopathologic entity. The epithelial lining of a COC appears to have the ability to induce the formation of dental tissues in the adjacent connective tissue wall, and that other odontogenic tumors may sometimes be associated with it. This case is a COC associated with a complex odontoma involving an impacted left maxillary lateral incisor in a 5-year-old female child. Radiographic examination revealed a well-demarcated radiolucent lesion partially occupied by a radiopaque mass, involving the left lateral incisor crown. The histologic sections showed a cystic cavity lined with ameloblastic epithelium containing ghost cell masses with admixed with complex odontoma components. The presence of mixed radiolucent-radiopaque lesion in children as observed in this case, the possibility of COC must be considered. In this case, there was no recurrence 1 year after enucleation and the space control is ongoing now.
Recenty, the pesticides Pollutions in connection with the maintenance of dietary life are poised as serious sanitary problems. Author have established an appropriate analysis method in this connection and, at the same time, analysed the levels of pesticides residues, such as organochloride pesticides and organic mercurials, contained in main cereals (rice, barley, and wheat) collected throughout the country. Using gas liquid chromatography method, comparative analyses were made of organochloride Pesticides with electron capture detector, and organic mercurials with electron capture detector and the Dithizone Method. As a result, the organic mercurials analysis using gas liquid chromatography is believed to hold out an especially good method for both in terms of its sensitivity and its Practical applications. The summary obtained from these results is as follows; The detectable limit of organochloride pesticides is $5\times10^{-10}$ grams and that of organic mecurials is $5\times10^{-9}$ grams. The detections using the Dithizone Method are difficult. The gas liquid chromatographic analysis of organic mercurials is very simple in its operation and high in its sensitivity, compare with the analysis using the Dithizone Method. Therefore, this analysis is expected to be a good method applicable to the pesticide residues analysis. The levels of pesticide residues contained in samples are very little for tolerance and, therefore, no problem i.: foreseen for eating. The appropriate conditions of gas liquid chromatographic analysis obtained from these results are expected very useful for the date establishing an officially authorized analysis method.
1. The author investigated on the flora of Yongzong island especially on the point of view of the sociological studies. 2. The author could distinguish kinds of the plant formtion in this island(1). Seaside plant formation (2). Mountain plant formation. 3. The seaside plant formation could be subdivided as follows: (1). Association of Triglochin maritimum LINNE. (2). Association of Suaeda japonica MAKINO. (3). Association of Scirpus triqueter LINNE. (4) Association of Phragmites prosturatus MAKINO. (5). Association of Zoysia japonica STEUDEL. (6). Association of Zoysia sinica HANCE var. tenuis NAKAI ex YAMAMOTO. (7). Assocation of Carex pumila THUNBERG. (8). Association of Rosa rugosa THUNBERG. (9). Association of Pinus Thunbergii PARLATORE. (1), (2), (3), (4), (5) associations can grow under the high tide, so when the high tide comes they soaked in the sea water. 4. The mountain plant formation can be subdivided as follows: (1). Association of Quercus aliena BLUME and Platycarya strobilacea STEBOLD & ZUCCARINI. (2). Association of Quercus acutissima CARRUTHERS and Platycaryastrobilacea SIEBOLD & ZUCCARINI. (3). Association of Robinia Pseudoeacia LINNE and Platycarya strobilacea SIEBOLD & ZUCCARINI. 5. The plants at the abandoned mine regions are replacing by the association of Robinia Pseudacacia LINNE and Platycarya strobilacea SIEBOLD & ZUCCARINI. 6. Generally I can find that soil which is developed by the seaside plant formation under sea water (when high tide comes, they soaked in the sea water) is over the pH 8.0, so it shows strong alkaline. But the sandy soil behind the tide line shows near the neutral in spite of the same seaside plant formation. In the case of mountain plant formation the soil where they developed show near the pH 6.0, so it is acidity.
This study was carried out to examine a novel inactivated Salmonella Typhimurium (S. Typhimurium) vaccine candidate for protection of mice against salmonellosis by immunization of BALB/c mice using various type adjuvant. The novel type-inactivated vaccine candidate was constructed by adding Chlorhexidine digluconate solution. BALB/c mice were divided into 6 groups of 15 mice apiece. The mice were intramuscularly (IM) primed at 6 weeks of age and were IM boosted 8 weeks of age. Groups A and B mice were injected with sterile phosphate-buffered saline as controls; group C mice were inoculated with 5×108 cells/100 µL of formalin-inactivated S. Typhimurium cells and adjuvant ISA70; groups D~F mice were immunized with 5×108 cells/100 µL of the inactivated vaccine candidate and adjuvant ISA70, adjuvant IMS1313 and adjuvant IMS1313 containing 30 ㎍/mL of GI24, respectively. All mice (except group A mice) were orally challenged with a virulent S. Typhimurium strain at 10 weeks of age. Mice from groups C-F had significantly increased IgG levels compared to control groups (A-B) mice. The levels of splenocyte IFN-γ and IL-4 in mice of all groups were measured by ELISA, resulting in increased immunity in group F mice compared to those of groups A-E mice. These data suggested that systemic and cell-mediated immune responses were highly induced by IM immunization with the vaccine candidate and adjuvant IMS1313 containing GI24. Furthermore, clinical signs such as death were observed in only 20% of group F mice after virulent Salmonella strain challenge, however, groups B and C (100%), and groups D and E (60%) mice died. This data suggested that mice immunized by intramuscular prime and booster with this vaccine candidate and adjuvant IMS1313 containing GI24 effectively protected mice from salmonellosis.
Due to the advantages of fast read/write operation and low power consumption, SSD(Solid State Drive) is now widely adopted as storage device of smart phone, laptop computer, server, etc. However, the shortcomings of SSD such as limited number of write operations and asymmetric read/write operation lead to the problem of shortened life span of SSD. Therefore, the block replacement policy of SSD used as cache for HDD is very important. The existing solutions for improving the lifespan of SSD including the LARC scheme typically employ the LRU algorithm to manage the SSD blocks, which may increase the miss rate in SSD due to the replacement of frequently used block instead of rarely used block. In this paper we propose a novel block replacement scheme which considers the block reuse interval to effectively handle various data read/write patterns. The proposed scheme replaces the block in SSD based on the recency decided by reuse interval and age along with hit ratio. Computer simulation using workload trace files reveals that the proposed scheme consistently improves the performance and lifespan of SSD by increasing the hit ratio and decreasing the number of write operations compared to the existing schemes including LARC.

The system performance of NRZ format in WDM transmission system with lumped dispersion management(DM) and optical phase conjugator(OPC) is compared with that of RZ format. It is confirmed that eye opening penalty(EOP) of both NRZ and RZ format in WDM transmission system having lumped DM combined with OPC are greatly improved than those in WDM system with only OPC. The optimal net residual dispersion(NRD) in the case of RZ format is decided to so small value that path-averaged dispersion coefficient become almost zero, while that in the case of NRZ format is decided to larger value, for the best improvement of overall WDM channels. It is also confirmed that EOP in the case of RZ format is more improved than that in the case of NRZ format in lumped DM with optimal NRD. This is resulted from that lumped DM combined with OPC suppress the signal distortion due to intrachannel four-wave mixing(IFWM) and intrachannel cross phase modulation(IXPM). Consequently, lumped DM combined with OPC proposed in this paper is effective technique to mitigate intrachannel nonlinearities in WDM transmitting RZ format.
