Localization for Mobile Robot Using Vertical Line Features (수직선 특징을 이용한 이동 로봇의 자기 위치 추정)

  • We present a self-localization method for mobile robots using vertical line features of indoor environment. When a 2D map including feature points and color information is given, a mobile robot moves to the destination, and acquires images from the surroundings having vertical line edges by one camera. From the image, vertical line edges are detected, and pattern vectors meaning averaged color values of the left and right regions of the each line are computed by using the properties of the line and a region growing method. The pattern vectors are matched with the feature points of the map by comparing the color information and the geometrical relationship. From the perspective transformation and rigid transformation of the corresponded points, nonlinear equations are derived. Localization is carried out from solving the equations by using Newton's method. Experimental results show that the proposed method using mono view is simple and applicable to indoor environment.

  • The most important issues in gesture recognition are the simplification of algorithm and the reduction of processing time. The mathematical morphology based on geometrical set theory is best used to perform the real-time processing. A key idea of the algorithm proposed in this paper is to apply morphological shape decomposition. The primitive elements extracted from a hand gesture have very important information including the directivity of the hand gestures. Based on this algorithm, we proposed the morphological hand-gesture recognition algorithm using feature vectors extracted from lines connecting the center points of a main-primitive element and sub-primitive elements. Through the experiments, we applied to the video contents browsing system with natural interactions and demonstrated the efficiency of this algorithm.

  • Today with the sheep of information which is produced the variety is increasing geometrical progression. To recently the internet being supplied quickly, will reach and the computer users whom it uses increase and the documents which have become digital anger are increasing. From the dissertation which it sees directness it extracts a weight with possibility work and it uses it summarizes a statistics algorithm technique and a sentence. The summary literature course which the summary and the person due to a statistics algorithm summarize an agreement ratio it compares and it compares. And being more accurate like this statistical base summary method more little more, the good hit rate is high and it proposes the document summary algorithm method which is good.

  • In this research, 3D position exploring system was developed to detect direction and position of radiation source by using two general CCD camera. This system consists of a radiation detection device, a controlling device, and a monitoring device. A radiation detection device is composed of a collimator, a scintillator, CCD sensor, and radiation shielding part. Incident radiation is firstly collimated with direction and converted into visual lights in a scintillator. The CCD sensor detect the converted visual light and send a signal as an image. This can explore a radiation source with direction and distance from geometrical structure of two sensors. From these information, the developed 3D position exploring system can provide 3D radiation source information. This research will be useful for managing and processing radioactive materials in remote.

  • This paper proposes a new algorithm for recognizing polyhedral objects using a single 2-D image. It is base don a new representation scheme having two level hierarchey. In the lower level, geometrical features of each primitive surface are represented using their signatures and the variation of signature due to rotation is represented suing the rotation map. In the higher level, topological features are represented in the inter-surface description table(SDT). Based on the proposed representaton scheme, loer level database searched to find a matching primitive surface. The srotation map determines the degree of rotation as well as the matchness. If all surfaces in a test object find their matching primitive surfaces, its structural information is compared with the SDTs of object models. If primitive surfaces of a test object equal to tha tof certain model and satisfy inter-surfaces relationship in SDT, a test object is recognized as the model.

Scattering Model for Electrical-Large Target Employing MLFMA and Radar Imaging Formation

  • To numerically calculate electromagnetic scattering from the electrical-large three-dimensional(3D) objects, the high-frequency approaches have been usually applied, but the accuracy and feasibility of these geometrical and physical optics(GO-PO) approaches, to some extent, are remained to be improved. In this paper, a new framework is developed for calculation of the near-field scattering field of an electrical-large 3D target by using a multilevel fast multipole algorithm(MLFMA) and generation of radar images by using a fast back-projection(FBP) algorithm. The MPI(Message Passing Interface) parallel computing is carried out to multiply the calculation efficiency greatly. Finally, a simple example of perfectly electrical conducting(PEC) patch and a canonical case of Fighting Falcon F-16 are presented.

  • In this paper, new exploration mobile robot is presented. This mobile robot, called Robhaz-6W, is able to overcome hazardous terrains, recognize three dimensional terrain information and generate a path toward the destination by itself. We develop the passive four bar linkage mechanism adoptable to such terrain without any active control and the real time stereo vision system for obstacle avoidance, a remote control and a path planning method. And the geometrical information is transmitted to the operator in the remote site via wireless LAN equipment. And finally, experimental results for the passive mechanism, the real time stereo vision system, the path planning are reported, which show the versatility of the proposed mobile robot system to carry out some tasks.

  • The part-surface of mold or stamping-dies consists of a compound surface which consists of lots of composite surfaces, and may have various types of feature shapes including convex sharp edge (CSE). Those CSE features should be considered with care in machining the surface, which necessitates extraction of CSE curves on a compound surface. This work can be done rather easily for a solid model which has a complete topology information. In case of the compound surface without topology information, however, such CSE curves must be gathered through some geometrical calculations paying much computation time. In the paper, extracting CSE curves by the construction of a CSE region-map which can reduce time, and detecting various common edge types are presented.

  • Stainless steel sheets are widely used as the structure material for the railroad cars and the commercial vehicles. These kinds structures used stainless steel sheets are commonly fabricated by using the gas welding. For fatigue design of gas welded joints such as fillet and plug and ring type joint, it is important to obtain optimum design parameter information on gas welded joints. In this paper, analysis approach for fatigue test using experimental design are evaluated optimum factor in gas welded joint type and geometrical parameters of materials. Using these results, that factors applied to fundamental information for fatigue design.

  • In this paper, electromagnetic wave scattering from a bianisotropicaly coated cylinder is formulated by using wave functions for bianisotropic media and boundary-value method. The cross section of the cylinder is made of a conducting core, a lossless dielectric layer which is both electrically magnetically bianisotropic, and a bianisotropic impedance sheet and a different uniaxial bianisotrpic coating. The solutions to arbitrary polarization angles are presented in two-dimensional. This paper presents and exact solution to the problem of scattering by a long composite circular cylinder using the boundary method. The validity of this solution is verified by comparing numerical results with those in literature. The numerical results for various geometrical and electrical parameters on bistatic scattering cross-section are presented.
