  • In this study, equation of finite element is formulated to analyze relations of large deformation-small deformation considering geometrical nonlinear for membrane structure. Total Lagrangian Formulation(TLF) is introduced to formulate theory and equation of motion considering Triangular Constant Strain(TCS) element in finite, element analysis is formulated. Finite element program is made by equation of motion considering TLF. This study analyzed a variety of examples, so compared with the past results.

  • The geometrical algorithm for generating a 3-phase SPWM signal for VVVF (Variable Voltage, Variable Frequency) inverter drives is proposed. In this techniques, it is suitable for micro-processor based implementation since the pulsewiths are computable in real time from simple analytic expressions. System hardware consists of the inverter circuit and the 3-phase SPWM signal generating circuit. The inverter circuit is a 3-phase SPWM signal generating circuit is single board micro-processor consisting of Z-80A CPU, EPROMXI, CTC, PIO. The method of controlling VVVF at the inverter output is discussed here.

  • A complete form of physical optics solution to the E-polarized diffraction by a composite of conducting and dielectric wedges is obtained by sum ov geometrical optics solution and edge-diffracted field. The diffraction coefficients of the edge-diffracted field are expressed in series of cotangent functions. The electric field patterns of the physical optics solution are plotted in figures.

  • This paper suggests user interface method with wearable computer by means of detecting gaze under HMD, head mounted display, environment. System is derived as follows; firstly, calibrate a camera in HMD, which determines geometrical relationship between monitor and captured image. Second, detect the center of pupil using ellipse fitting algorithm and represent a gazing position on the computer screen. If user blinks or stares at a certain position for a while, message is sent to wearable computer. Experimental results show ellipse fitting is robust against glint effects, and detecting error was 6.5%, and 4.25% in vertical and horizontal direction, respectively.

  • The main purpose of this paper is to determine a new focal point and field distribution due to the shape deformation of reflector antenna by numerical method such as geometrical optics and the aperture field method. It is shown the 4 types deformations to be added into original shape of parabola antenna and offset antenna: linear, quadratic, cubic and hybrid distortion. These results can be applied to deformed reflector antenna in order to fit a focal point and radiation pattern.

  • Automotive aerodynamic drag coefficient is important variable for vehicle's driving performance and fuel economy. In this research, we applied genetic algorithm to determine the geometrical figure which can optimize Carr's automotive aerodynamic underbody coefficient. And it's verified by previous research.

  • In this paper a computer program is developed for the determination of geometrical and material properties of composite thin-walled beams with arbitrary open cross-section and any arbitrary laminate stacking sequence. Theory of thin-walled composite beams is based on assumptions consistent with the Vlasov's beam theory and classical lamination theory. The program is written in Fortran 77. Some numerical examples are given, with complete information about input and output.

  • 이 논문에서는 기하광학과 회절이론을 통하여 이론적으로 경로손실을 나타내는 식을 유도하였다. 이식을 이용하여 동일 층내에 위치한 안테나간의 전파 특성을 살펴보기 위하여 Bertoni가 사용한 건물과 같은 구조에 대하여 이전의 연구 결과와 비교하였다.

  • Image-based rendering is an approach to generate realistic images in real-time without modeling explicit 3D geometry, Especially, TIP(Tour Into the Picture) is preferred for its simplicity in constructing 3D background scene. However, TP has a limitation that a viewpoint cannot go far from the origin of the TIP for the lack of geometrical information. in this paper, we propose a method to interpolating the TIP images to generate smooth and realistic navigation. We construct multiple TIP models in a wide area of the virtual environment. Then we interpolate foreground objects and background object respectively to generate smooth navigation results.

Localization for Mobile Robot Using Vertical Lines

  • In this paper, we present a self-localization method for mobile robots using vertical line features of indoor environment. When a 2D map including feature points and color information is given, a mobile robot moves to the destination, and acquires images by one camera from the surroundings having vertical line edges. From the image, vertical line edges are detected, and pattern vectors meaning averaged color values of the left and right region of each line segment are computed. The pattern vectors are matched with the feature points of the map using the color information and the geometrical relationship of the points. From the perspective transformation of the corresponded points, nonlinear equations are derived. Localization is carried out from solving the equations by using Newton's method. Experimental results show that the proposed method using mono view is simple and applicable to indoor environment.
