본 논문은 분석가들에게 Naive Geography에 기반 한 형상 추출기술과 상식적 공간추론 기술을 제공하는 문제 해결 환경인 NG Analyst의 개발 사례에 대해 다뤘다. 지형과 각각의 객체에 대한 구성 정보는 분산된 지형공간의 지식을 사실적으로 묘사하는 추론집합에 의해 표현되며 사용자가 형상정보를 인지적으로 이해할 수 있도록 3차원으로 표현한다. 여러 그래픽 적인 요소들로 표현된 Naive Geography 정보들은 분석가들에게 실세계의 공간과 객체들을 유사하게 구성하여 제공함으로서 직관적으로 이해하고 상호작용 할 수 있는 문제 해결 환경을 제공한다.

Pedestrian assemblage is now a normal phenomenon in modern cities. To maintain an unblocked traffic situation, protect the pedestrians' safety and make preparedness for any emergencies is an important task for police department. Modeling pedestrian dynamics and simulating evacuation process can provide useful information for make accurate decisions. In this paper, by virtue of geographic information technologies, the authors proposed a conceptual framework to simulate pedestrian dynamics and evacuation in an open urban environment.

Conventional simulations for mobile ad hoc network so far are based on the "random walk" of the mobile nodes, which are not constrained by their surrounding spatial environments. In this paper, we present a geography-based mobility model, which reflects more realistic movements of the real world. This mobility model is used for performance evaluation of MANET routing protocols.protocols.

A fragmented urban heat island is observed over the Seoul metropolitan area. Long-term (1996-2003) hourly temperature, wind speed and direction, and precipitation data observed at 26 (51) automatic weather stations (AWS) in Seoul (Gyeonggi prevince) makes it possible to reveal more dynamic spatial and temporal patterns of the urban heat island in this area than previously revealed. It is important to assess the change of water environment in the present and past. In this study, present-day water quality standards are applied to the expressions in literary works to reconstruct the historical water environment including the quality. As the result, the historical reconstruction of water quality has been made distribution of water quality from 1905 to 1935 for the Sumida River in Tokyo.

This paper analyzes the advantage of the XML, and studies the simple feature object model and Geography Markup Language that proposed by the Open GIS Consortium (OGC). We discussed the means of encoding the geographical data based on XML.

The concept of Smart Specialization represents a major shift in EU structural policy. It recognizes place-specific qualities and particularly locally embedded knowledge to stimulate innovative economic performance. Although there have been debates about the role of universities as innovation incubator, deliberations about their influence in regional innovation strategies (RIS3) in the context of smart specialization approaches are still under-represented. This paper therefore aims at discussing the potential role of universities and related incubator environments in smart specialization strategies, which is illustrated with the help of a German state, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
