In 1954 Frame, Robinson and Thrall [5] gave the hook formula for the number of standard Young tableaux of a given shape. Since then many proofs for the hook formula have been given using various methods. See [9] forprobabilistic method and see [6] or [12] for combinatorial ones. Regev [10] has given asymptotic values for these numbers and Gouyou-Beauchamps [8] gave exact formulas for the number of standard Young tableaux having n cells and at most k rows in the cases k = 4 and k = 5.
In this paper, a new high speed parallel input and parallel output GF(2$^{m}$ ) multiplier based on standard basis is proposed. The concept of the multiplication in standard basis coordinates gives an easier VLSI implementation than that of the dual basis. This proposed algorithm and method of implementation of the GF(2$^{m}$ ) multiplication are represented by two kinds of basic cells (which are the generalized and fixed basic cell), and the minimum critical path with pipelined operation. In the case of the generalized basic cell, the proposed multiplier is composed of $m^2$ basic cells where each cell has 2 two input AND gates, 2 two input XOR gates, and 2 one bit latches Specifically, we show that the proposed multiplier has smaller complexity than those proposed in 〔5〕.
In this paper we consider the part-machine cell formation decision of the generalized Group Technology(GT) problem in which multiple process routes can be generated for each part. The existing p-median model and similarity coefficient algorithm can solve only small-sized or well-structured cases. We suggest an assignment method for the cell formation problem. This method uses an assignment model which is a simple linear programming. Numerical examples show that our assignment method provides good separable cells formation even for large-sized and ill-structured problems.
We present a fast, constructive algorithm for the automatic placement of standard cells, which consists of two steps. The first step is responsible for cell-row assignment of each cell, and converts the circuit connectivity into a multi-stage graph under to constraint that sum of the cell-widths in each stage of the multi-state graph does not exceed maximum cell-row width. Generatin of feed-through cells in the final layout was shown to be drastically reduced by this step. In the second step, the position of each cell within the row is determined one by one from left to right so that the cost function such as the local channel density is minimized. Our experimental result shows that this algorithm yields near optimal results in terms of the number of feed-through cells and the horizontal tracks, while running about 100 times faster than other iterative procedures such as pairwise interchange and generalized force directed relaxation method.
The grouping of parts into families and machines into cells poses an important problem in the design and planning of the flexible manufacturing system(FMS). This paper proposes a new optimal algorithm of forming machine-part groups to maximize the similarity, based on branching from seed machine and bounding on a completed part. This algorithm is illustrated with numerical example. This algorithm could be applied to the generalized machine-part grouping problem.
In this paper, a meshfree shell adaptive procedure is developed for the applications in the sheet metal forming simulation. The meshfree shell formulation is based on the first-order shear deformable shell theory and utilizes the degenerated continuum and updated Lagrangian approach for the nonlinear analysis. For the sheet metal forming simulation, an h-type adaptivity based on the meshfree background cells is considered and a geometric error indicator is adopted. The enriched nodes in adaptivity are added to the centroids of the adaptive cells and their shape functions are computed using a first-order generalized meshfree (GMF) convex approximation. The GMF convex approximation provides a smooth and non-negative shape function that vanishes at the boundary, thus the enriched nodes have no influence outside the adapted cells and only the shape functions within the adaptive cells need to be re-computed. Based on this concept, a multi-level refinement procedure is developed which does not require the constraint equations to enforce the compatibility. With this approach the adaptive solution maintains the order of meshfree approximation with least computational cost. Two numerical examples are presented to demonstrate the performance of the proposed method in the adaptive shell analysis.

Winkler (1990, 2001), Sitter and Skinner (1994), Wilson and Sitter (2002) present a method which applies linear programing to designing surveys with multi-way stratification, primarily in situation where the desired sample size is less than or only slightly larger than the total number of stratification cells. A comparison is made with existing methods both by illustrating the sampling schemes generated for specific examples, by evaluating sample mean, variance estimation, and mean squared errors, and by simulating sample mean for all methods. The computations required can, however, increase rapidly as the number of cells in the multi-way classification increase. In this article their approach is applied to multi-way stratification using real data.
A $TiO_2$ films in dye-sensitized solar cells was fabricated using $TiO_2$ colloidal sol prepared from titanium iso-propoxide used as a starting material by applying the sol-gel method. It was characterized by particle size analyzer, XRD, FE-SEM, and BET analysis. The adsorption isotherms of dye molecule on $TiO_2$ films were obtained at three different temperatures (30, 45, $60^{\circ}C$) and at three different pH (3, 5, 7). The adsorption kinetics of dye molecule on $TiO_2$ films were obtained at three different temperatures (30, 45, $60^{\circ}C$. The adsorption experimental data were correlated with Langmuir isotherm model and pseudo-second-order model. Also the isosteric enthalpies of dye adsorption were calculated by the Clausius-Clapeyron equation. In addition, the adsorption energy distribution functions which describe heterogeneous characteristics of nanocrystalline $TiO_2$ film surface were calculated by using the generalized nonlinear regularization method. We found that efficient adsorption of N719 dye from aqueous solution onto $TiO_2$ films can be successfully achieved by dye adsorption conditions and morphology of $TiO_2$ films.
Purpose : To observe the histopathological changes in the pulp tissues of mandibular molars in streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats after irradiation. Materials and Methods : The male Sprague-Dawley rats weighing approximately 250 gm were divided into four groups: control, diabetes, irradiation, and diabetes-irradiation groups. Diabetes mellitus was induced in the rats by injecting streptozotocin. Rats in control and irradiation groups were injected with citrate buffer only. After 5 days, the head and neck region of the rats in irradiation and diabetes-irradiation groups were irradiated with a single absorbed dose of 10 Gy. All the rats were sacrificed at 3, 7, 14, 21, and 28 days after irradiation. The specimen including the mandibular molars were sectioned and observed using a histopathological method. Results : In the diabetes group, capillary dilatation was observed. However, there was no obvious morphologic alteration of the odontoblasts. In the irradiation group, generalized necrosis of the dental pulp tissues was observed. Vacuolation of the odontoblasts and dilatation of the capillaries were noted in the early experimental phases. In the diabetes-irradiation group, generalized degeneration of the dental pulp tissues was observed. Vacuolation of the dental pulp cells and the odontoblasts was noted in the late experimental phases. Conclusion : This experiment suggests that dilatation of the capillaries in the dental pulp tissues is induced by diabetic state, and generalized degeneration of the dental pulp tissues is induced by irradiation of the diabetic group.
Point collocation method based on the fast derivatives approximation of meshfree shape function is applied to solid mechanics in this study. Enhanced meshfree approximation with approximated derivative of shape function is reviewed, and formulation of linear elastic solid mechanics by point collocation method is presented. It implies that governing equation of solid mechanics with strong form is directly formulated without no numerical integration cells or grid. The regularity of weight function is not required due to a use of approximated derivative, so we propose the exponential type weight function that is discontinuous in first derivative. The convergence and stability of the proposed method is verified by passing the generalized patch test. Also, the efficiency and applicability of the proposed method in solid mechanics is verified by solving types of solid problems. Numerical results show that not only a use of proposed weight function leads lower error and higher convergence rate than that of the conventional weight functions, but also the improved collocation method with derivative approximation enables to compute the derivatives of shape function very fast and accurately enough to replace the classical direct derivative calculation.
