  • In ubiquitous environments, the real-time features are necessary to insure the QoS of the intelligent service robots. In this paper, we design and implement a real-time framework for intelligent service robots to support real-time features. The real-time framework to support real-time scheduling services is implemented on the general operating systems. We solve the problem that the scheduler of a general operating system can not support real-time features. This paper also proposes realtime scheduling services to guarantee the QoS of real-time robot applications. We implemented the proposed real-time framework on the Windows operating system and conducted some performance experiments. The experimental results show that the proposed real-time framework can improve thread response times and it has slight performance overhead of $62{\mu}s$.

  • To show the recognition of hand-sanitizer, we studied the answers of research questions where we got from the northern part of Seoul and Kyunggi Province. We had categorized two groups both industry-related people who work in restaurants, hygiene service shops, whole sales, government organizations, PC shops, factory-department stores and non industry-related people who work in schools, general offices for this study. 1. Hand sanitation level: Over 60% people washed hands 6 times a day. The group using water and soap was much bigger than the group using water for washing hands. For drying, people preferred wipe tissue, towels, clothes, non drying in that order. 2. Recognition of hand sanitizer and its usage experience: Most people(66.5%) did not know what hand sanitizer is, but they have positive attitude if they use this machine. 3. Place of hand sanitizer: The proper places to install were such public places as hospitals, restrooms, and restaurants. The fifties-group was the most frequently hand washing generation with over 9 times a day. 4. Comparison of recognition for hand-sanitizer by male and female: There were different results in each evaluation item by either male or female. The frequency and method of hand washing showed high in males, while females observed hand sanitization, installation requirements, installation areas, home installation, etc more than anything else.

  • Background: Potentially avoidable hospitalizations (PAH) contribute to an increased post-discharge mortality. Methods: To investigate the between-hospital variation and the relationship between all predictors and mortality after discharge among older adults with PAH, we studied 15,186 older patients with PAH in 2,200 hospitals included in the National Health Insurance Service-Senior claims database from 2002 to 2013. Multivariable multilevel logistic regression analyses were performed to analyze the variance at between-hospital for mortality after accounting for differences in patient characteristics. Results: The between-hospital variation in mortality that could be attributed to hospital practice variations were 37.6% at 1-week to 13.9% at 12-month post-discharge, after adjustment for individual patient characteristics and hospital-level factors. Hospital-level factors significantly explained mortality at 3 weeks after discharge. Clinics, compared with general hospitals, demonstrated a 2.75 times higher likelihood of deaths at 3-week post-discharge (p<0.001). Compared with private hospitals, public hospitals exhibited 1.61 times higher odds of 3-week mortality (p=0.01). Conclusion: This study demonstrates considerable between-hospital variations in PAH-related mortality that could be attributed to hospital practices. Monitoring of hospitals to identify practice variations would be warranted to improve the survival of older patients with PAH.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze the current state of home health nursing (HHN) for elders and to provide basic data on policy alternatives for establishing home medical care in the advanced general hospital. Methods: This study was conducted as a secondary data analysis, using electronic medical record (EMR) data of older patients who received HHN more than once from the S advanced general hospital between January 2016 and December 2018. Results: A total of 1,790 patients received HHN visits, with 22,477 visits being made. The mean age was 76.8±7.3 years old, 96.0% of elders had health insurance and 24.6% had orthopedics problems. Of the 1,168 people who visited emergency rooms, the most frequent symptom was pain (23.4%) and all patients visited the hospital at least once and at most 163 times outpatient care during HHN. Causative diseases were degenerative knee joint osteoarthritis (0.6%), surgery for right knee replacement (4.0%), and for dressings (9.7%) in the HHN service content analysis. Conclusion: The progress towards an aging society and the introduction of community care are expected to further enhance the need for HHN which should be able to provide comprehensive and continuous visiting health care services to the older patients. The results of this study are expected to help doctors solve problems not solved by HHN, reduce unnecessary emergency room or outpatient visits, and readmission, while at the same time contributing to the improvement of patient quality of life through efficient patient health care.

  • In this study, by analyzing the examination time for each procedure, the appropriate workload of radiologic technologist is analyzed based on the actual examination time in the current clinical setting by comparing with the examination time in the radiology field setting of the health insurance review and assessment service. In addition, this result is introduced into the calculation of relate value units; it was attempted to provide accurate and objective evidence in the field of radiology. From May 2020 to December 2021, the study retrospectively investigated the examination times recorded in the electronic medical record and picture archiving and communication system at 5 tertiary general hospitals and 1 general hospital. The total of 16 examination parts are applied in this study, including the head, sinuses, chest, ribs, abdomen, pelvis, cervical, thoracic, lumbar, shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, femur, knee, and ankle. The minimum number of images that could be obtained per radiation generator was 3.6 images for one hour, and the maximum was 6.4 images. When 50% median of procedure time is calculated, the minimum number of images that could be obtained was 16.7 images and maximum was 35.3 images; in addition, minimum examination time is 1.7 minutes, and maximum time is 3.6 minutes. In conclusion, it is judged that there will be insufficient explanation time for basic infection instructions such as hand hygiene during the examinations in current clinical practice. It is believed that radiologic technologists will contribute to providing higher-quality of radiation examination services to the public by complying with guidelines for work and setting appropriate workload on their own.

  • In this paper, the fire risk of a single-phase induction motor under a locked-rotor condition is described. In general, motor failure occurs in the locked-rotor condition owing to poor rotation of the rotor. Large inrush current flows when a motor starts, which is approximately 2-15 times larger than the rated current. In a single-phase induction motor under the locked-rotor condition, a large current that corresponds to the inrush current flows continuously through the stator winding. Such an overcurrent rises the temperature inside the stator winding, and thus the insulating material may catch fire. In this study, the restrained operating condition of the single-phase induction motor was simulated. Further, the degree of the overcurrent and temperature rise in the stator winding was measured. The experimental results, confirmed that the overcurrent was seven times larger than the rated current and the fire commenced at a temperature of approximately 300 ℃ inside the stator winding.

  • Salmonella (S.) Typhimurium infection in pigs is a major source of human foodborne salmonellosis. Recently, the swine industry in Korea has been suffered from salmonellosis causing severe economic loss to farms. Organic acids have antibacterial activity which prevents bacteria from multiplying by reducing the pH in the gastrointestinal tract. The aim of the present study is to evaluate whether $Salstop^{(R)}$ mixed with organic acids is able to have influence on growth performance and whether it prevents against S. Typhimurium in weaning pigs. Four experimental treatments were examined: general diet added with 0.3% of $Salstop^{(R)}$ after S. Typhimurium ($1.0{\times}10^{10}CFU/ml$) challenge, group A; commercial feed after Salmonella ($1.0{\times}10^{10}CFU/ml$) challenge, group B; commercial feed and $Salstop^{(R)}$, group C; commercial feed, Group D. At the end of the study, no significant differences in daily body weight gain and feed intake were observed between groups treated with $Salstop^{(R)}$ and groups treated without, whereas feed conversion ratio (FCR) tended to be improved in groups treated with $Salstop^{(R)}$ between days 1 to 14. Serological and microbiological evolution of the infection were examined by ELISA and microbiological culture from serums and fecal samples, respectively. In groups that challenged by S. Typhimuriums, the group without $Salstop^{(R)}$ showed higher prevalence and bacterial shedding compared to the groups treated with $Salstop^{(R)}$. Our results suggest that the administration of $Salstop^{(R)}$ could be used to promote feed efficiency and to reduce the prevalence of salmonellosis in weaners.

  • It is applying the various teaming contents to improve learner's studying desire and effect in E-Learning system. In this learning contents, there are text animation, sound and picture etc. But, multimedia teaming contents which has big file size need much transmission service times. In this paper, I proposed a scheduling technique of LMS to be faster and service efficiently the multimedia learning contents which was managed and processed it in LMS. for this purpose, I used message and scheduler at LMS. While loaming was processed, it saved the result information of learning contents request to LMS. In this case, if the learner request loaming contents request, it could be possible to support the learning contents efficiently to use learning contents information in LMS without connecting to LCMS. As application result of this techniques, at the first learning course, existent techniques displayed faster learning contents service than proposal techniques. But the more learning process, proposal technique is faster service than existent.
