An Inherent Zero-Voltage and Zero-Current-Switching Full-Bridge Converter with No Additional Auxiliary Circuits

  • An inherent zero-voltage and zero-current-switching phase-shifted full-bridge converter with reverse-blocking insulated-gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) or non-punch-through IGBT is proposed in this paper. This converter not only ensures that the switches in the lagging leg works at zero-current switching, but also minimizes circulating conduction loss without any additional auxiliary circuits. A 1.2 kW hardware prototype is designed, fabricated, and tested to verify the proposed topology. The control loop design procedures with small-signal models are also presented. A simple, low-cost, and robust democratic current-sharing circuit is also introduced and verified in this study. The proposed converter is a suitable alternative for compact, cost-effective applications with high-voltage input.

항만 야드 자동화크레인(ATC)에서 효율적인 컨테이너번호 인식시스템 개발 (Implementation of Efficient Container Number Recognition System at Automatic Transfer Crane in Container Terminal Yard)

  • 본 논문은 컨테이너터미널의 야드에서 무인으로 하역작업을 수행하는 자동화 크레인(ATC; Automatic Transfer Crane) 에서 신속하고 효율적으로 작업 대상인 컨테이너화물의 컬러 영상 이미지내의 컨테이너번호를 인식하는 방법에 대한 연구이다. 부산의 신선대부두 게이트에는 정부의 연구개발사업인 "지능형 항만물류시스템 기술 개발"에 의해 컨테이너번호 인식시스템이 설치되어 있다. 수출컨테이너화물을 자동으로 인식하기 위해 게이트에 터널식 구조물 내 카메라를 설치하여 컨테이너번호를 인식하는 방식이다. 그러나 컨테이너터미널에 자동화장비가 도입되고 작업의 무인화가 점진적으로 이루어짐에 따라 야드의 자동화크레인에서 작업 대상의 확인을 위한 컨테이너번호 인식시스템을 필요로 한다. 따라서 게이트와는 달리 햇빛, 비, 눈, 그림자 등 영상을 통한 문자인식의 방해요소가 많은 야드의 자동화크레인에서는 그에 맞는 컨테이너번호 인식시스템이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 카메라, 조명, 센서 등 하드웨어 요소들의 변경과 주변 환경의 밝기차 등을 조절하여 번호를 인식하는 알고리즘 등 소프트웨어 요소들의 변화를 통해 태양광이나 하역장비 아래에 짙게 드리워지는 그림자 문제 등을 해결하고 인식시간의 단축과 인식률을 높이는 결과를 도출하였다.

  • In this paper, we propose a new design method of Genetic Algorithm Processor(GAP) and Evolvable Hardware(EHW). All sorts of creature evolve its structure or shape in order to adapt itself to environments. Evolutionary Computation based on the process of natural selection not only searches the quasi-optimal solution through the evolution process, but also changes the structure to get best results. On the other hand, Genetic Algorithm(GA) is good fur finding solutions of complex optimization problems. However, it has a major drawback, which is its slow execution speed when is implemented in software of a conventional computer. Parallel processing has been one approach to overcome the speed problem of GA. In a point of view of GA, long bit string length caused the system of GA to spend much time that clear up the problem. Evolvable Hardware refers to the automation of electronic circuit design through artificial evolution, and is currently increased with the interested topic in a research domain and an engineering methodology. The studies of EHW generally use the XC6200 of Xilinx. The structure of XC6200 can configure with gate unit. Each unit has connected up, down, right and left cell. But the products can't use because had sterilized. So this paper uses Vertex-E (XCV2000E). The cell of FPGA is made up of Configuration Logic Block (CLB) and can't reconfigure with gate unit. This paper uses Vertex-E is composed of the component as cell of XC6200 cell in VertexE

A Motion-Control Chip to Generate Velocity Profiles of Desired Characteristics

  • A motion-control chip contains major functions that are necessary to control the position of each motor, such as generating velocity command profiles, reading motor positions, producing control signals, driving several types of servo amplifiers, and interfacing host processors. Existing motion-control chips can only generate velocity profiles of fixed characteristics, typically linear and s-shape smooth symmetric curves. But velocity profiles of these two characteristics are not optimal for all tasks in industrial robots and automation systems. Velocity profiles of other characteristics are preferred for some tasks. This paper proposes a motion-control chip to generate velocity profiles of desired acceleration and deceleration characteristics. The proposed motion-control chip is implemented with a field-programmable gate array by using the Very High-Speed Integrated Circuit Hardware Description Language and Handel-C. Experiments using velocity profiles of four different characteristics will be performed.

  • 세계화의 진전 및 시장 개방의 가속화로 인해 국내외 항만물류산업의 중요성이 높아지고 있다. 우리나라는 항만의 경쟁에서 살아남기 위해 첨단기술을 적용한 무인 자동화 컨테이너 터미널의 구축 등을 통해 생산성, 경제성, 보안성 및 서비스 수준을 향상을 위해 연구 하고 있다. 하지만 컨테이너터미널 내부 효율 및 생산성을 향상시키는 연구가 대부분이며 보안업무 등을 처리하는 연구는 미흡한 실정이다. 컨테이너 터미널 보안의 중요성은 갈수록 중요 ${\cdot}{\cdot}$(중략)${\cdots}{\cdot}$.

자동 분수공의 개발 (Development of the Automatic Turnout)

  • Floating-type automatic turnout was developed for the purpose of reducing labor cost and labor-working hours related to turnout management. The point of automation is to use a flexible-float within the turnout. The weight of float is changed by emptying and filling with water at the beginning and ending of irrigation. The turnout is controlled to open and close small bole on the float bottom using electromagnets. With the weight control of float. the gate of turnout is opened by the empty float to begin irrigatiom and is closed by the filled float to stop irrigation. The turnout was designed to be operated by the main computer and to minimize electric power consumption by sending an electric current at the beginning and ending of irrigation. The functional experiment was succesfully carried out and the rating curves for both free overflow condition and submerged flow condition were derived.

  • In this paper, we describe the internet-based remote home automation system that con control and manage home appliances or digital devices bi-directionally through Internet. The platform-independency of VRML and Java applet enables users to access their home appliances and to check current state of them in t he virtual reality environment. The main focus is on three aspects. One is on the virtual reality technology to support the user interface efficiently by using 3D GUI in web-browser. Another is on the system architecture that consists of Home server and its manager server called Gate server in this paper. These servers have been implemented by Java RMI which is the basic single programming interface for distribution of objects and services using Java technology. The third, remote PLC controller and each digital devices are composed of home networking by PLC using CEBus protocol.

Design of a Biped Robot Using DSP and FPGA

  • A biped robot should be designed to be an effective mechanical structure and have smaller hardware system if it is to be a stand-alone structure. This paper shows the design methodology of a biped robot controller using FPGA(Field Programmable Gate Array). A hardware system consists of DSP(Digital Signal Processor) as the main CPU, and FPGA as the motor controller. By using FPGA, more flexible hardware system has been achieved, and more compact and simple controller has been designed.

팬.틸트 카메라의 저 진동 마이크로스텝핑 제어기 설계 (Design of a Low-Vibration Micro-Stepping Controller for Pan-Tilt Camera)

  • Speed, accuracy and smoothness are the important properties of pan-tilt camera. In the case of a high ratio zoom lens system, low vibration characteristic is a crucial point in driving pan-tilt mechanism. In this paper, a novel micro-stepping controller with a function of reducing vibration was designed using field programmable gate arrays (FPGA) technology for high zoom ratio pan-tilt camera. The proposed variable reference current (VRC) control scheme reduces vibration decently and optimizing coil current in order to prevent the step motor from occurring missing steps. By employing VRC control scheme, the vibration in low speed could be significantly minimized. The proposed controller can also make very high speed of 378kpps micro-step driving, and increase maximum acceleration in motion profiles.

  • 과학이 주는 가장 큰 이점인 인간의 편리함을 추구하는데 있어서 자동화라는 개념을 빼 놓을 수는 없을 것이다. 특히 인간생활의 기본이 되는 가정에서의 편리성은 항상 최우선되어져 왔다. 본 논문은 미래 사회 핵심 기술인 자동화의 가장 근본이 되는 Home Automation에 암호화 알고리즘을 통한 출입문 제어 시스템의 구현과 유비쿼터스의 개념을 도입하는 것에 그 목적이 있다. 현재까지 출입문 제어 시스템에 관한 수많은 논의와 연구가 이루어 졌지만 기존의 키 인증 방식은 한계가 존재하였다. 이에 인중서 개념 도입을 통한 암호화 알고리즘을 선보이고 기존의 키 인증시스템의 문제점을 해결하고 보안상의 문제도 해결하는 방법을 제안한다.
