The owner of underground metallic structures (gas pipeline, oil pipeline, water pipeline, etc) has a burden of responsibility for the corrosion protection in order to prevent big accidents like gas explosion, soil pollution, leakage and so on. So far, Cathodic Protection(CP) technology have been implemented for protection of underground systems. The stray current from DC subway system in Korea has affected the cathodic protection (CP) design of the buried pipelines adjacent to the railroads. In this aspect, KERI has developed a various mitigation method, drainage system through steel bar under the rail, a stray current gathering mesh system, insulation method between yard and main line, distributed ICCP(Impressed Current Cathodic System), High speed response rectifier, restrictive drainage system. We installed the mitigation system at the real field and test of its efficiency in Busan and Seoul, Korea. In this paper, the results of field test, especially, distributed ICCP system is described.
Previous research has explored early expression of fire signs before the burning of insulation. To achieve this, typically, automatic inspections are used to detect gas emitted from odor capsules at electrical connection points; additionally, early fire signs can be expressed using visual inspection of changes in the appearance of temperature caps. However, early detection of electrical fire is often difficult because only specific inspections, which are not complex, are performed. Therefore, in this paper, we present complex inspection techniques, such as visual inspection, odor inspection, and automatic inspection, and propose a showing material of fire signs that can solve conventional problems. In addition, this study examines the conditions under which the candidate material for the showing material is designed, the composition of the candidate material selected based on the designed conditions, the manufacturing means used to produce the showing material considering the temperature for early expression of fire signs, and the performance of the produced showing material. Furthermore, we analyze various effects that can occur through the proposed display material.

SiO2, renowned for its excellent insulating properties, has been used in the semiconductor industry as a valuable dielectric material. High-quality SiO2 films find applications in gate spacers and interlayer insulation gap-fill oxides, among other uses. One of the prevalent methods for depositing these SiO2 films is plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD) favored for its relatively low processing costs and ability to operate at low temperatures. However, compared to the increasingly utilized atomic layer deposition (ALD) method, PECVD exhibits inferior film characteristics such as uniformity. This study aims to produce SiO2 films with uniformity as close as possible to those achieved by ALD through the adjustment of PECVD process parameters. we conducted a total of nine PECVD processes, varying the process time and gas flow rates, which were identified as the most influential factors on the PECVD process. Furthermore, ellipsometry analysis was employed to examine the uniformity variations of each process. The experimental results enabled us to elucidate the relationship between uniformity and deposition rate, as well as the impact of gas flow rate and deposition time on the process outcomes. Additionally, thickness measurements obtained through ellipsometer facilitate the identification of optimal process parameters for PECVD.
To find effective diagnostic method for Transmission OF cables, various characterizations were carried such as DGA (dissolved gas analysis), water contents, total acidity and AC breakdown voltage. It was found that the result was varied by sampling and container. The results from those characterization method showed the present condition and history very well and could be used to estimate the degree of degradation of cables.
This study is to development of inorganic insulation material using by-product materials. The organic material is due to toxic gas emission, when a fire occurs. And it has lower water resistance. The inorganic material is heavy and worse thermal performance than organic materials. In this study, cullet and fly ash were used as basic materials in order to secure a recycling technology of by-products which was mostly discarded and reclimed, and measure of physical properties of Inorganic foam material.
As an LNG carrier preserves and transports liquefied natural gas under minus $163^{\circ}C$, the cargo tank has to have sufficient hull strength against not only the wave loads but also against loads caused by loading and unloading and thermal expansion to keep the LNG safely. The main insulation types for a CCS are No.96 and Mark III from GTT for the membrane LNG carrier. Particularly, the invar membrane plate in No.96 is very thin and its connections could experience high local stresses owing to such dynamic loads. Therefore, it should be verified whether those connections have sufficient fatigue lives for the purpose of operation and maintenance. This research aims at performing fatigue analysis with 0.1 fatigue damage criteria for 40 years of design life to support new membrane CCS development using proper S-N curves and the associated finite element modeling technique for each connection and then propose a reasonable design methodology.
The modern society longing for the convenience of up-to-date technology, there are attempts of miniaturization and high reliance of power equipments in the effectiveness aspect of urban area's usage of space while requiring more electrical energy than now. Consequently, paper used to the Neral Network for a forcasting conservation system. A neral network is powerful asta modeling tool that is able to capture and represent complex input/output relationships. The true power and advantage of neral networks lies in their ability to learn these relationships directly from the data being modeled. Traditional linear models are simply inadequate when it comes to modeling data that contains non-linear characteristics. Form results of this study, the Neral Network is will play an important role for insulation diagnosis system of real site GIS and power eqipment using $SF_6$ gas.

Conventional flame retardant cable using PVC or CR materials generate considerable amount of toxic and acidic gas (HCI etc.) together with excessive black smoke during a fire. The newly developed halogen free materials have dissolved the problem of halogen acid gases. This paer describes the development of this power cable insulation and sheath, using halogen free materals.
Macroporous ceramics with tailored pore size and shape could be used for well-established and emerging applications, such as molten metal filtration, biomaterial, catalysis, thermal insulation, hot gas filtration and diesel particulate filters. In these applications, unique properties of porous materials were required which could be achieved through the incorporation of macro-pores into ceramics. In this article, we reviewed the main processing techniques which can be used for the fabrication of macroporous ceramics with tailored microstructure. Partial sintering, replica templates, sacrificial fugutives, and direct foaming techniques was described here and compared in terms of microstructures and mechanical properties that could be achieved. The main focus was given to the direct foaming technique which was simple and versatile approach that allowed the fabrication of macro-porous ceramics with tailored features and properties.
