  • This paper presents a state-of-the-art review of the nonlinear modelling techniques available today for describing the structural behaviour of masonry infills and their interaction with frame structures subjected to in-plane loads. Following brief overviews on the behaviour of masonry-infilled frames and on the results of salient experimental tests, three modelling approaches are discussed in more detail: the micro, the meso and the macro approaches. The first model considers each of the infilled frame elements as separate: brick units, mortar, concrete and steel reinforcement; while the second approach treats the masonry infill as a continuum. The paper focuses on the third approach, which combines frame elements for the beams and columns with one or more equivalent struts for the infill panel. Due to its relative simplicity and computational speed, the macro model technique is more widely used today, though not all proposed models capture the main effects of the frame-infill interaction.

  • Let $G$ be a metrizable, ${\sigma}$-compact locally compact abelian group with a compact open subgroup. In this paper we define the Gramian and the dual Gramian operators for shift invariant subspaces of $L^2(G)$ and we use them to characterize shift generated dual frames for shift in- variant spaces, which forms a frame for a subspace of $L^2(G)$. We present necessary and sufficient conditions for which standard dual is a unique SG-dual frame of type I and type II.

  • The purpose of this paper is to suggest an analytical technique for time history analysis of R/C frame structure using high-strength concrete under seismic loading. Current researches in hysteretic model of structral elements using high-strength concrete are not enough. It is the cause of error that apply hysteretic model of element using normal-strength concrete to the inelastic analysis of high-strength concrete R/C frame structures. In this paper time history analysis using IDARC and DRAIN programs was performed for a 2-bay, 20-story R/C frame structures. Particularly nonlinear dynamic analysis was performed by IDARC program that was applied hysteretic model of structural element using high-strength concrete. centro earthquake 1940 NS waves was used in the analysis and its peak ground accelerations are changed to be 0.12g, 0.25g

  • In this paper, we attempt to obtain sufficient conditions for the existence of tight wavelet frame sets in locally compact abelian groups. The condition is generated by modulating a collection of characteristic functions that correspond to a generalized shift-invariant system via the Fourier transform. We present two approaches (for stationary and non-stationary wavelets) to construct the scaling function for L2(G) and, using the scaling function, we construct an orthonormal wavelet basis for L2(G). We propose an open problem related to the extension principle for Riesz wavelets in locally compact abelian groups.

  • In this paper, we intend to demonstrate a new intuitive force-feedback device for advanced VR applications. Force feed-back for the device is tension based and is characterized by 7 degrees of freedom (DOF); 3 DOF for translation, 3 DOF for rotation, and 1 DOF for grasp). The SPIDAR-G (Space Interface Device for Artificial Reality with Grip) will allow users to interact with virtual objects naturally by manipulating two hemispherical grips located in the center of the device frame. We will show how to connect the strings between each vertex of grip and each extremity of the frame in order to achieve force feedback. In addition, methodologies will be discussed for calculating translation, orientation and grasp using the length of 8 strings connected to the motors and encoders on the frame. The SPIDAR-G exhibits smooth force feedback, minimized inertia, no backlash, scalability and safety. Such features are attributed to strategic string arrangement and control that results in stable haptic rendering. The design and control of the SPIDAR-G will be described in detail and the Space Graphic User Interface system based on the proposed SPIDAR-G system will be demonstrated. Experimental results validate the feasibility of the proposed device and reveal its application to virtual reality.

  • Ultra-high-frequency radio-frequency identification (UHF RFID) is widely applied in different industries. The Frame Slotted ALOHA in EPC C1G2 suffers severe collisions that limit the efficiency of tag recognition. An efficient full-duplex anti-collision scheme is proposed to reduce the rate of collision by coordinating the transmitting process of CDMA UWB uplink and UHF downlink. The relevant mathematical models are built to analyze the performance of the proposed scheme. Through simulation, some important findings are gained. The maximum number of identified tags in one slot is g/e (g is the number of PN codes and e is Euler's constant) when the number of tags is equal to mg (m is the number of slots). Unlike the Frame Slotted ALOHA, even if the frame size is small and the number of tags is large, there aren't too many collisions if the number of PN codes is large enough. Our approach with 7-bit Gold codes, 15-bit Gold codes, or 31-bit Gold codes operates 1.4 times, 1.7 times, or 3 times faster than the CDMA Slotted ALOHA, respectively, and 14.5 times, 16.2 times, or 18.5 times faster than the EPC C1 G2 system, respectively. More than 2,000 tags can be processed within 300 ms in our approach.

  • In commercial vehicle, sub-frame which equipped in main frame supporting dump deck and oil tanker. This is the main structure for all equipment which including joint function. Sub-frame is made by welding process, this susceptible to deform and crack by its longitudinal size. Also various kind of sub-frame make it difficult to standardization in manufacturing process and exclusive jig is not adapted yet. Frame size is over 6~8m and weight is more than 300kg this make re-work more difficult. If manufacturing company made precise sub-frame, this is not only convenient for customers but also save the company money by reducing the working time. In this study manufacture the sub-frame be suitable for its main function and develop exclusive welding jig for obtain checking fixture function as well.

  • The G-PON is an efficient solution to implement the FTTH and have GEM frame to accomodate various protocols like Ethernet frames, IP packets, and TDM signals. Above all, the Ethernet is one of the most widely used 2nd layer protocol in the campus, the subscriber access, and the carrier service. So G-PON system has to provide an Ethernet interface with top priority. In this paper, we implement a gigabit Ethernet adapter based on Ethernet over GEM in the ITU-T G.984.3 to accommodate Ethernet protocol in the G-PON TC chip. The adapter maps each Ethernet frame to a single or multiple GEM frames and has several functions including generation of the GEM header, encapsulation of frames and the SAR. In particular, the adapter have converter (LUT) MAC address to port-ID which is a key to identify logical connections though it is not defined in specification but important. We implement the adapter with a FPGA and verify the functions of segmentation and reassembling, MAC address learning, and throughput with the logic analyzer and the Ethernet analyzer.

  • We introduce ${\varphi}$-frames in $L^2$(G), as a generalization of a-frames defined in [8], where G is a locally compact Abelian group and ${\varphi}$ is a topological automorphism on G. We give a characterization of ${\varphi}$-frames with regard to usual frames in $L^2$(G) and show that ${\varphi}$-frames share several useful properties with frames. We define the associated ${\varphi}$-analysis and ${\varphi}$-preframe operators, with which we obtain criteria for a sequence to be a ${\varphi}$-frame or a ${\varphi}$-Bessel sequence. We also define ${\varphi}$-Riesz bases in $L^2$(G) and establish equivalent conditions for a sequence in $L^2$(G) to be a ${\varphi}$-Riesz basis.

  • As the structure of a mobile phone becomes thin to catch up with a slim product trend, the structural strength and resistance to shock of TFT-LCD module are getting to be reduced. Hence, TFT-LCD module is the strength reinforced by bezel frame. The bezel frame was produced by the multi hemming processes with several folding parts. The determination of the optimal number of hemming part and structure of bezel frame are very important process parameter to obtain the strength of that. The effect of process parameters on strength of bezel frame was investigated by FEA. Based on the result of FEA, the experiment was performed using manufactured hemming die, the result of the experiment was compared with FEA and verified. Also, three point bending tests were performed to check the strength of bezel frame.
