In this study, the gradient descent algorithm was used for FLC analysis and the algorithm was used to represent the effects of nonlinear parameters, which alter the antecedent and consequence fuzzy variables of FLC. The controller parameters choose the control variable by iteration for gradient descent algorithm. The FLC consists of 7 membership functions, 49 rules and a two inputs - one output system. The system adopted the Min-Max inference method and triangle type membership function with a 13 quantization level.

The new architecture that fuzzy logic control(FLC) with difficulties for tuning membership function
(MF) is parallel with neural networks(NN) to be learned from the output of FLC is proposed.
Therefore proposed scheme has the characteristics to utilize the expert knowledge in design process, to
be learned during the operation without any learning mode.
In this architecture, the function of the FLC is to supply the sliding surface which is constructed on the
phase plane by rule base for giving the desired control characteristics and learning criterion of NN and the
stabilization of the control performance before NN is learned, The function of the NN is to let the system
trajectory be tracked to the sliding surface and reached to the stable point.

A navigation system was developed for autonomous guidance of a combine. It consisted of a DGPS, a machine vision system, a gyro sensor and an ultrasonic sensor. For an autonomous operation of the combine, target points were determined at first. Secondly, heading angle and offset were calculated by comparing current positions obtained from the DGPS with the target points. Thirdly, the fuzzy controller decided steering angle by the fuzzy inference that took 3 inputs of heading angle, offset and distance to the bank around the rice field. Finally, the hydraulic system was actuated for the combine steering. In the case of the misbehavior of the DGPS, the machine vision system found the desired travel path. In this way, the combine traveled straight paths to the traget point and then turned to the next target point. The gyro sensor was used to check the turning angle. The autonomous combine traveled within 31.11cm deviation(RMS) on the straight paths and harvested up to 96% of the whole rice field. The field experiments proved a possibility of autonomous harvesting. Improvement of the DGPS accuracy should be studied further by compensation variations of combines attitude due to unevenness of the rice field.

Uncertainty of result of context awareness always exists in any context-awareness computing. This falling-off in accuracy of context awareness result is mostly caused by the imperfectness and incompleteness of sensed data, because of this reasons, we must improve the accuracy of context awareness. In this article, we propose a novel approach to model the uncertain context by using ontology and context reasoning method based on Bayesian Network. Our context aware processing is divided into two parts; context modeling and context reasoning. The context modeling is based on ontology for facilitating knowledge reuse and sharing. The ontology facilitates the share and reuse of information over similar domains of not only the logical knowledge but also the uncertain knowledge. Also the ontology can be used to structure learning for Bayesian network. The context reasoning is based on Bayesian Networks for probabilistic inference to solve the uncertain reasoning in context-aware processing problem in a flexible and adaptive situation.
In this paper, a fuzzy inference control system is proposed for a turbojet engine with fuel flow control input only. The proposed control system provides a practical fuel flow control method to prevent surge or flame out during engine acceleration or deceleration. A fuzzy logic is designed to obtain the fast acceleration and deceleration of the engine under the condition that the operating point should stay between the surge line and flame out control line. With using both engine rotating speed error and surge margin as fuzzy input variables, the desired engine rotating speed can be achieved to rapidly follow the engine control line without engine stall. Computer simulation using the MATLAB is realized to prove the proposed control performance to the turbojet engine which is linear modelized using DYGABCD program package.

Home service robot are not working in the fixed task such as industrial robot, because they are together with human in the same indoor space, but have to do in much more flexible and various environments. Most of them are developed on the base of the wheel-base mobile robot in the same method as a vehicle robot for factory automation. In these days, for holonomic system characteristics, omni-directional wheels are used in the mobile robot. A holonomicrobot, using omni-directional wheels, is capable of driving in any direction. But trajectory control for omni-directional mobile robot is not easy. Especially, azimuth control which sensor uncertainty problem is included is much more difficult. This paper develops trajectory controller of 3-wheels omni-directional mobile robot using fuzzy azimuth estimator. A trajectory controller for an omni-directional mobile robot, which each motor is controlled by an individual PID law to follow the speed command from inverse kinematics, needs a precise sensing data of its azimuth and exact estimation of reference azimuth value. It has imprecision and uncertainty inherent to perception sensors for azimuth. In this paper, they are solved by using fuzzy logic inference which can be used straightforward to perform the control of the mobile robot by means of the fuzzy behavior-based scheme already existent in literature. Finally, the good performance of the developed mobile robot is confirmed through live tests of path control task.
Many dairy producers periodically receive information about their bulk tank milk with reference to bulk tank somatic cell counts, standard plate counts, and preliminary incubation counts. This information, when collected over a period of time, in combination with bulk tank mastitis culture reports can become a significant knowledge base. Several guidelines have been proposed to interpret farm bulk tank milk bacterial counts. However many of the suggested interpretive criteria lack validation, and provide little insight to the interrelationship between different groups of bacteria found in bulk tank milk. Also the linguistic terms describing bulk tank milk quality or herd management status are rather vague or fuzzy such as excellent, good or unsatisfactory. The objective of this paper was to develop a set of fuzzy descriptors to evaluate bulk tank milk quality and herd's milking practice based on bulk tank milk microbiology test results. Thus, fuzzy logic based reasoning methodologies were developed based on fuzzy inference engine. Input parameters were bulk tank somatic cell counts, standard plate counts, preliminary incubation counts, laboratory pasteurization counts, non agalactiae-Streptococci and Streptococci like organisms, and Staphylococcus aureus. Based on the input data, bulk tank milk quality was classified as excellent, good, milk cooling problem, cleaning problem, environmental mastitis, or mixed with mastitis and cleaning problems. The results from fuzzy reasoning would provide a reference regarding a good management practice for milk producers, dairy health consultants, and veterinarians.

Urine analysis is basic test in clinical medicine using visual examination by expert nurse. Recently, this test is measured by automatic urine analysis system. But, this system has different results by each instrument. So, a new classification algorithm is required for accurate classify and urine color collection. In this paper, a intelligent color classifier of urine analysis system was designed using neural network algorithm. The input parameters are three stimulus(RGB) after preprocessing using normalization. The fuzzy inference and neural network ware constructed for classify class according to 9 urine test items and $3{\sim}7$ classes. The experiment material to be used a standard sample of medicine. The possibility to adapt classifier designed for urine analysis system was verified as classifying measured standard samples and observing classified result. Of many test items, experimental results showed a satisfactory agreement with test results of reference system.

To date, many viable smart base isolation systems have been proposed and investigated. In this study, a novel friction pendulum system (FPS) and an MR damper are employed as the isolator and supplemental damping device, respectively, of the smart base isolation system. A fuzzy logic controller (FLC) is used to modulate the MR damper because the FLC has an inherent robustness and ability to handle non linearities and uncertainties. A genetic algorithm (GA) is used for optimization of the FLC. The main purpose of employing a GA is to determine appropriate fuzzy control rules as well to adjust parameters of the membership functions. To this end, a GA with a local improvement mechanism is applied. This method is efficient in improving local portions of chromosomes. Neuro fuzzy models are used to represent dynamic behavior of the MR damper and FPS. Effectiveness of the proposed method for optimal design of the FLC is judged based on computed responses to several historical earthquakes. It has been shown that the proposed method can find optimal fuzzy rules and the GA optimized FLC outperforms not only a passive control strategy but also a human designed FLC and a conventional semi active control algorithm.

This paper presents a control system that uses a fuzzy algorithm in controlling the depth of a model midwater trawl net, and experimental results carried out in the circulating water channel by using a model trawl winch system. The fuzzy controller calculates the length of the warp to be changed, based on the depth error between the desired depth and actual depth of the model trawl net and the ratio of change in the depth error. The error and the error change are calculated every sampling time. Then the control input, i.e. desirable length of the warp, is determined by inference from the linguistic control rules which an experienced captain or navigator uses in controlling the depth of the trawl winch controller and the length of the warp is changed. Two kinds of fuzzy control rules were tested, one was obtained from the actual operations used by a skilled skipper or navigator, and the other was a modified from the former by considering the hydrodynamic characteristics of the model trawl system. Two kinds of fuzzy control were tested, one was obtained fro the actual operations used by a skilled skipper or navigator, and the other was a modified from the former by considering the hydrodynamic characteristics of the model trawl system. The results of these model experiments indicate that the proposed fuzzy controllers rapidly follow the desired depth without steady-state error although the desired depth was given in one step, and show robustness properties against changes in the parameters such as the change of the towing sped. Especially, a modified rule shows smaller depth fluctuations and faster setting times than those obtained by a field oriented rule.
