  • Fuzzy controller design consists of intuition, and any other information about how to control system, into a set of rules. These rules can then be applied to the system. It is very important to decide parameters of IF-THEN rules. Because Fuzzy controller can make more adequate force to the plant by means of parameter optimization, which is accomplished by learning procedure. In this paper, we apply adaptive fuzzy controller designed to the Rotary Inverted Pendulum.

An Improved Clustering Method with Cluster Density Independence

  • In this paper, we propose a modified fuzzy clustering algorithm which can overcome the center deviation due to the Euclidean distance commonly used in fuzzy clustering. Among fuzzy clustering methods, Fuzzy C-Means (FCM) is the most well-known clustering algorithm and has been widely applied to various problems successfully. In FCM, however, cluster centers tend leaning to high density clusters because the Euclidean distance measure forces high density cluster to make more contribution to clustering result. Proposed is an enhanced algorithm which modifies the objective function of FCM by adding a center-scattering term to make centers not to be close due to the cluster density. The proposed method converges more to real centers with small number of iterations compared to FCM. All the strengths can be verified with experimental results.

  • In this paper, we present a fuzzy-number-oriented methodology to model uncertain geometric robot environment and to manipulate geometric uncertainty between robot coordinate frames. We describe any geometric primitive of robot environment as a parameter vector in parameter space. Not only ill-known values of the parameterized geometric primitive but the uncertain quantities of coordinate transformation are represented by means of fuzzy numbers restricted to appropriate membership functions. For consistent interpretation about geometric primitives between different coordinate frames, we manipulate these uncertain quantities using fuzzy arithmetic.

  • We represent an efficient intelligent digital redesign method for a Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy system Intelligent digital redesign means that an existing analog fuzzy-model-based controller converts to equivalent digital counter part in the sense of state-matching. The proposed method performs previous work, moreover, it allows re matching the states of the overall closed-loop T-S fuzzy system with the predesigned analog fuzzy-model-based controller. And the problem of stability represent convex optimization problem and cast into linear matrix inequality (LMI) framework. This method applies to the helicopter systems which are the nonlinear plant and determine the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method.

  • To be satisfied with complex load condition of electric vehicle, fuzzy logic control (FLC) is applied to improve speed response and system robust performance of induction traction machine based on indirect rotor field orientation control. The proposed propulsion system consists of two induction motors (IM) that ensure the drive of the two back driving wheels of lightweight electric vehicle by means the vehicle used for passenger transportation. The electronic differential system ensures the robust control of the vehicle behavior on the road. It also allows controlling, independently, every driving wheel to turn at different speeds in any curve. Our electric vehicle fuzzy inference system control's simulated in Matlab SIMULINK environment, the results obtained present the efficiency and the robustness of the proposed control with good performances compared with the traditional PI speed control, the FLC induction traction machine presents not only good steady characteristic, but with no overshoot too.

  • 본 논문은 상대적으로 대비도 차이가 크게 나타나는 역광 이미지에 대해서 Retinex 알고리즘을 적용하여 보정 했을 경우 발생하는 밝은 영역에서의 컬러 성분의 손실을 개선하기 위한 새로운 기법을 제안한다. 역광 이미지의 경우 밝은 영역과 어두운 영역에 대한 밝기 차이가 매우 크게 발생하기 때문에 Retinex 알고리즘을 이용하여 영상의 대비도를 향상시킬 경우 밝은 영역에서의 컬러 성분이 손실되는 현상이 발생한다. 이러한 손실을 보완하기 위해서 원본 영상의 밝은 영역에 해당하는 컬러 성분을 Retinex 알고리즘으로 보정된 영상에 추가해준다. Fuzzy c-means 군집화 알고리즘을 이용하여 원본 영상에서의 밝은 영역과 어두운 영역에 대하여 모든 화소의 소속 정도를 나타내는 퍼지 소속 함수를 구한다. 밝은 영역에 대해서의 컬러 성분은 원본 영상 값에 밝은 영역 퍼지 소속 함수를 적용하고, 어두운 영역에 대해서의 컬러 성분은 Retinex 복원 영상 값에 어두운 영역 퍼지 소속 함수를 이용한다. 제안하는 알고리즘의 성능 평가를 위해 역광 현상이 강하게 나타나는 자연영상들을 대상으로 적용하여 기존의 Retinex 알고리즘(MSRCR) 보다 우수한 성능을 가지고 있음을 보였다.

  • In this paper, a novel demand control technique using composite fuzzy model is developed for the peak load control. The outcome of the study clearly indicates that the composite model approach can be used as an attractive and effective means of the peak demand control.

  • In this paper, a fault evaluation method is proposed, which is to determine whether analog electronic circuits are faulty or not. In our method, evaluation characteristics of an expert test engineer are defined by means of directed graphs. By performing a multi-stage fuzzy inference based on the graphs, novice test engineers can derive a fault evaluation result satisfied by the expert. The effectiveness of our method is checked by some experiments for an amplifier circuit.

An Improved Hybrid Canopy-Fuzzy C-Means Clustering Algorithm Based on MapReduce Model

  • The fuzzy c-means (FCM) is a frequently utilized algorithm at present. Yet, the clustering quality and convergence rate of FCM are determined by the initial cluster centers, and so an improved FCM algorithm based on canopy cluster concept to quickly analyze the dataset has been proposed. Taking advantage of the canopy algorithm for its rapid acquisition of cluster centers, this algorithm regards the cluster results of canopy as the input. In this way, the convergence rate of the FCM algorithm is accelerated. Meanwhile, the MapReduce scheme of the proposed FCM algorithm is designed in a cloud environment. Experimental results demonstrate the hybrid canopy-FCM clustering algorithm processed by MapReduce be endowed with better clustering quality and higher operation speed.
