A polarizability fur a circular aperture near a conducting plane is derived. The Mantel-transform and mode-matching is used to obtain a simple series solution. The presented series solution is fast convergent so that it is very efficient fur numerical computations.

Centrifugation is a method to create functionally graded materials (FGM) with a thermosetting matrix. In this study the movement of short carbon fibers in an epoxy resin during the centrifugation process was modeled to determine the fiber distribution in the final product. For this purpose a form factor K was introduced to modify a set of equations that was previously shown to be valid for the motion of spheres. It was shown that the results of the simulation were in good agreement with the experimental data, when an empirical K factor of four was chosen.

In this paper we propose a method fur the evaluation of the quality of service for VoIP services in NGN. Specifically, let us anatomize the elements of delay of a voice connection in the network in an end-to-end manner and investigate expected value at each point. We extract the delay time in each element in the network such as gateway, network node, and terminal equipment, and estimate an upper bound fur the tolerable delay in each element.

This paper propose a simple and efficient scheme to deliver frames between TDM interfaces and IP interfaces in NGTSs. Next Generation Transport Systems (NGTSs) are new conceptual transmission equipments fur next generation network. They consist of TDM interfaces and IP interfaces. NGTSs are suitable fur high-speed transmission links such as SONET/SDH and Gigabit Ethernet. The proposed VLAN scheme for NGTSs is implemented successfully.

The present paper gives an overview about the Atom Probe Tomography technique and its application to powder materials. The preparation of needle-shaped Atom Probe specimens from a single powder particle using focused-ion-beam milling is described. Selected experimental data on mechanically alloyed (and sintered) powder materials are presented, giving insight into the atomic-scale elemental redistribution occurring under powder metallurgical processing.

A spherical Earth surface is used fur realistic analysis of the geometrical performance characteristics about the variation of satellite altitude and 2-dimensional line-of-sight(LOS) tilt angle in a satellite imager using Time Delay and Integration(TDI) technique with fixed integration time. In the spherical Earth surface model TDI synchronization using LOS tilt is investigated as a solution to compensate geometric performance degradation due to altitude decrease. This result can be used fur a TDI CCD imager with variable integration time in a certain as well.

Clinical and pathohistological findings in 16 cattle with mesotheliosis were described : pearshaped abdominal outline, poor nutritional and growth condition, reduced milk yield, diarrhea, apathy, increased peritoneal fluid, dyspnea, multiple tumors to the visceral serosa of abdominal intestine, and papilliform growth of mesotheliomas. Asbestos plays an etiologic role in bovine mesotheliosis. A proposal is made to use bovine mesotheliosis as a screening monitor for the protection of man.
