  • The diagnosis and treatment plan for forming ideal occlusal plane in full mouth rehabilitation are difficult because each process is complicated and information exchange between dentist and technician is subjective. The OP finder® system simplifies this process and helps to deliver more objective and accurate information. In this case, full mouth rehabilitation was performed using OP finder® system for patients with old bad fixed prosthesis and severely worn mandibular teeth, and reported that the result of proper occlusal plane setting and masticatory function recovery was obtained.

  • A sensorless control method was recently investigated in the robot and automation industry. This method can solve problems related to the rise of manufacturing costs and system volume. In a vector control method, the rotor position estimated in the sensorless control method is generally used. This study is based on a conventional full-order flux observer. The proposed full-order flux observer estimates both currents and fluxes. Estimated d- and q-axis currents and fluxes are used to estimate the rotor position. In selecting the gains, the proposed full-order flux observer substitutes gain k for the speed information in the denominator of the gain for fast convergence. Therefore, accurate speed control in a low-speed region can be obtained because gains do not influence the estimation of the rotor position. The stability of the proposed full-order flux observer is confirmed through a root-locus method, and the validity of the proposed observer is experimentally verified using a surface permanent-magnet synchronous motor.

  • Human postural responses appeared to have stereotyped modality, such as ankle mode, knee mode and hip mode in response to various perturbations. We examined whether human postural control gain of full-state feedback could be decoupled along with the eigenvector. To verify the model, postural responses subjected to fast backward perturbation were used. Upright posture was modeled as 3-segment inverted pendulum incorporated with feedback control, and joint torques were calculated using inverse dynamics. Postural modalities such as ankle, knee and hip mode were obtained from eigenvectors of biomechanical model. As oppose to the full-state feedback control, independent eigenvector control assumes that modal control input is determined by the linear combination of corresponding modality. We used optimization method to obtain and compare the feedback gains for both independent eigenvector control and full-state feedback control. As a result, we found that simulation result of eigenvector feedback was not competitive in comparison with that of full-state feedback control. This implies that the CNS would make use of full-state body information to generate compensative joint torques.

  • The purpose of this study was to provide basic information need to promote early childhood's growth with balanced diet and preferable dietary attitude by observing the provision of food service management in kindergarten in Daejeon. We researched the dietary life of full- and half-day program children and their mothers. A questionnaire survey was conducted with 392 children attending kindergarten and their mothers. The questionnaire items examined general characteristics, dietary life, dietary behavior, frequency food intake etc. The results of the survey were as follows. The frequency of breakfast intake of the half-day program children and their mothers was higher than that of the full-day program children and their mothers. Most of the children had an unbalanced diet about soybean, kimchi, and vegetables, whereas their mothers had an unbalanced diet about processed food In general, the half-day program children showed higher scores than full-day children for the items of the dietary behavior of kindergarten. The dietary attitude and nutrition attitude scores of the half-day program children and their mothers were higher than those of the full-day program children and their mothers.

  • We studied the performance of a two-user time reversal multiple input single output scheme combined with the shifted transmission technique in a variable rate back-off scenario, called shifted time reversal (TR), that minimizes both intersymbol interference and multiuser interference. We compare the bit error rate performance of the shifted TR scheme to both full-rate TR and full back-off TR schemes and demonstrate its superiority to shifted zero forcing scheme when the guard interval is larger than one.

  • The performance of an isolated high voltage full bridge converter is improved using a voltage doubler. In a conventional high voltage full bridge converter, the diode of the transformer secondary voltage undergoes a voltage spike due to the leakage inductance of the transformer and the resonance occurring with the parasitic capacitance of the diode. In addition, in the phase shift control, conduction loss largely increases from the freewheeling mode because of the circulating current. The efficiency of the converter is thus reduced. However, in the proposed converter, the high voltage dual converter consists of a voltage doubler because the circulating current of the converter is reduced to increase efficiency. On the other hand, in the proposed converter, an input current is distributed when using parallel input / serial output and the output voltage can be doubled. However, the voltages in the 2 serial DC links might be unbalanced due to line impedance, passive and active components impedance, and sensor error. Considering these problems, DC injection is performed due to the complementary operations of half bridge inverters as well as the disadvantage of the unbalance in the DC link. Therefore, the serial output of the converter needs to control the balance of the algorithm. In this paper, the performance of the conventional converter is improved and a balance control algorithm is proposed for the proposed converter. Also, the system of the 1.5[kW] PCS is verified through an experiment examining the operation and stability.

  • The development of information retrieval between 1950s and 1990s is described chronologically. For each decade, the following information retrieval systems are examined : post-coordinate and KWIC indexing methods for the 1950s ; off-line and experimental on-line systems for the 1960s ; on-line and full-text retrieval systems for the 1970s ; full-text databases, on-line interfaces, and overseas and domestic on-line databases for the 1980s ; and finally for the 1990s, CD-ROM, multimedia, hypertext, and Internet. The prospects for the future are also discussed.

  • The purpose of this study is to seek how to effectively acquire a full-text using LHI(Loca1 Holdings Information) when we search bibliographic DB. For this study, the pre-investigation of LHI within Online and CD-ROM DB was made using local and overseas literature. The questionary survey was made of librarians and users who have used CD-ROM. The finding of this study is that LHI is not very widely used in libraries, thus more study on ,LHI within Online and CD-ROM DB is required to get high quality information service.

  • Despite the fact that the deployment of sensor networks and target tracking could both be managed by taking full advantage of Voronoi diagrams, very little few have been made in this regard. In this paper, we designed an optimized barrier coverage and an energy-efficient clustering algorithm for forming Vonoroi-based Wireless Sensor Networks(WSN) in which we proposed a mobile target tracking scheme (CTT&MAV) that takes full advantage of Voronoi-diagram boundary to improve detectability. Simulations verified that CTT&MAV outperforms random walk, random waypoint, random direction and Gauss-Markov in terms of both the average hop distance that the mobile target moved before being detected and lower sensor death rate. Moreover, we demonstrate that our results are robust as realistic sensing models and also validate our observations through extensive simulations.
