The purpose of this study was to develop geological field study sites for learning topography and geology of the area with igneous rocks, specifically in Duibaejae volcanic edifice and Seonang-bawi that were distributed in Goseong-gun, Gangwon-do area. As a follow up, we conducted a study to examine the effect of the study sites when applied to high school freshmen Earth science course. The study proceeded based on the Orion's model in the order of preparatory unit, field trip, and summary unit. The geological field study sites were developed based on the geological study elements presented in the Korean Earth science curriculum. Before the field trip, students simply memorized factual knowledge on minerals, rocks and etc., and showed very low level of understanding on the formation process of the region that was distributed with granite and basalt. Especially, their understanding showed that granite and basalt were formed from the same magma at the same time. After the field trip, they increased in-depth level of understanding about minerals, rocks, and geological structures, but were not able to explain the topographical characteristics of the two rocks because they did not recognize the times of the creation of granite and basalt. The reason is that they have learned the simple concept of the process of forming granite and basalt in their middle school, but that they have not learned the meaning of the difference between two the geological eras when each of the two rocks, granite and basalt, were formed.
However, the academic identity of security related studies still remain as a task to be solved. In 2000, security related studies were newly established and offered in 60 universities, but the present condition is that the number of universities that offer the studies has decreased due to the issues such as reduction of freshmen and there are currently 39 universities (both two-year and four-year). In addition, an appropriately mixed use of name of the studies is being demanded in order to respond to the social overall market changes, as the names such as 'police', 'security', 'martial art' and 'non-commissioned officer'. Of course, the common goal the studies are pursuing is safety service activities for civilians. However, the present condition is that the establishment of university system is still insufficient, and the curriculum has composed loosely by professors in various field. Therefore, the two-year security related studies with strong market directivity in the security industry were selected in this thesis to highlight the realistic issues and comparatively analyze the curriculum of each school to deduce basic curriculum and future direction was presented. The wavering curriculum of each school while seeking the common goal of security related studies is reflecting the reality of unsettled security studies and it is a task that needs to be solved. The security related studies need reinforced education such as the method to provide opportunities of joint-task among professional manpower, academic-industrial cooperation process and academic-industrial joint-development, while adopting subdivided education.
The results of realities of the Taekwondo training in Korea National Police University, Police Comprehensive Academy, National Central Police Academy, and police stations and of realities of the Taekwondo blackbelt holders are as below. 1. The Taekwondo training time of Korea National Police University is 4 hours per week for freshmen and 2 hours per week for sophomores, juniors, and seniors. 2. The Taekwondo training of Police Comprehensive Academy is basis for police lieutenants and sergeants. time for Taekwondo training is not allotted in the education course but only allotted as a liberal everyday exercise. In the chivalry master course, 71% of the course composes of basic policeman and on-site arrest techniques and pliceman chilvary such as Taekwondo, and judo. The cadets must select one item among the policeman chivalry and take Taekwondo training for 150 hours during 52 weeks acquire the first grade to be appointed as lieutenant simultaneously with the graduation. 3. The Taekwondo training for newly appointed policemen of National Central Police Academy is 104 hours of arresting criminals and self-protection. 4. In the Taekwondo training in the police stations, when a master completes more than two times of training per month, he receives the first grade by examination and be promoted by one grade each. 5. The policemen with Taekwondo black belt are more than 2.6 times of judo, 4.6 times of fencing, 5.9 times of hapgido.
This study is a part of the research on measuring and developing the creativity of college students, especially of engineering college students. This study was done in the class of imaginative design engineering which was a creativity training program integrated with engineering majors, including idea generation skills, creative problem solving, patent applications, design, manufacturing and marketing. Participants in this program were 75 freshman strudetns in engineering college. First, TTCT scores of the participants in imaginetive design engineering increased significantly. Second, type indicator scores of MBTI varied significantly, to the directions of extrovert, feeling, and perception. Therefore, according to the results of this study, we can conclude the imaginative design engineering class had significant positive effects on the creativity of the engineering students.
The purpose of this study was to analyze career cognition, key competency, vocational values of university students and junior college students. The study was carried out through questionnaire survey method. The population sample for the study constituted 368 completed questionnaires from sample of 373 freshmen-women of university and students. A survey questionnaire consisted of career cognition items, key competency scale, vocational values scale, and personal characteristics items. The construct validity of key competency scale and vocational values scale were confirmed by factor analysis with varimax rotation. Both descriptive and inferential statistics were employed for data analysis. Major findings of this study were as follows: First, university students and junior college students most wanted to get a job after graduate. Many students decided their career at high school days. Many students were not prepared for their career after graduate. They recognized that major curriculum of university and junior college was very helpful to prepare their career. And many students discussed with their parents about their career. Second, key competency of them was moderately high. In the items of key competencies, 'communication and following' was the highest. And key competency of university students was better than that of junior college students. Key competency of male students was better than that of female students. Third, vocational values of them were high. In the items of vocational values, 'occupational stability' was the highest, and 'work in freedom and challenge' was the lowest. 'Occupational stability' and 'work in freedom and challenge' of junior college students was higher than that of university students. And 'occupational stability' of female students was higher than that of male students.

The purpose of this study is to verify the mediating effects of self-efficacy in correlation between conscientiousness and neuroticism among the Big Five personality traits and stress coping strategies. The following two study questions were formulated. Study Question 1: What is the correlation between the Big Five personality traits, stress coping strategies, and self-efficacy Study Question 2: Among the Big Five personality traits, conscientiousness and neuroticism are selected as clinically very meaningful variables that represent mental health in undergraduates. If so, does self-efficacy play a mediating role in the correlation between conscientiousness and neuroticism and stress coping strategies To verify the two study questions, the Big Five personality traits, stress coping strategies scale, and self-efficacy scale were measured for a sample of 462 freshmen attending D University located in Chungcheong. First, according to the results of correlation analysis, neuroticism and self-efficacy showed a negative correlation, and conscientiousness showed a positive correlation. Regarding the Big Five personality traits and stress coping strategies, conscientiousness showed a negative correlation with avoidance-orientation among stress coping strategies. Neuroticism showed a negative correlation with social support and problem solving-orientation among stress coping strategies. Second, according to the results of analyzing the mediating effects of self-efficacy through hierarchical regression analysis, self-efficacy exerted partial mediating effects only in correlation between neuroticism and avoidance-orientation. This study is significant in its anticipation of undergraduates' stress coping, personality factors can be usefully employed as psychological constructs, and particularly, when an undergraduate reveals the neuroticism factor, which is one of the predictors for mental health, and the tendencies of avoidance among stress coping strategies, educational interventions for self-efficacy are needed to reduce their mental stress.

This research aims to gain a better understanding of college students' thoughts on what factors make them happy and contribute to enhancing their happiness. We focused on the relationship between their self-assessed happiness and various factors affecting happiness, such as their socio-economic status, relationships with others, future orientation, and daily activities. Survey data were collected from October, 2014 to December, 2014 at a South Korean University. The final total number of respondents was 474 from 500 distributed questionnaires, after excluding 26 responses with missing values and unanswered items. The response was comprised of 247 male students, and 227 female students, and of 268 freshmen, 145 sophomores, 35 juniors, and 26 senior students. Factors that were statistically significant were gender, year, average cost of leisure, appearance satisfaction, conversation hour with parents, having girlfriend/boyfriend, sexual experience, number of friends, satisfaction with major, Grade Point Average (GPA), studying hours, time for self-improvement, reading hours, use of smart phone hours, number of daily meals, exercise hour, schedule management and future goal setting. This research was conducted utilizing only data from one university and so it may not be appropriate to generalize the results. Moreover, some of the variables are not in line with previous studies on happiness. Some other mediating variables may exist. Therefore, following research should be conducted.

The purpose of this study was to examine the level of human rights sensitivity and the types of perception in regards to the human rights of college students to enhance their human rights sensitivity. The study methodology included a t-test and variance analysis for the level of human rights sensitivity, and a Q-factor analysis for the perception types of human rights. As a result of examining whether there is a difference in human right sensitivity, it was found that female students were higher than male students, and juniors and seniors were higher than freshmen and sophomores. The human rights sensitivity of the students in the social and science department were the highest, and those who had volunteer experiences were more susceptible to human rights than those who did not. Students who registered for organ donation were higher than those who did not, and those who received human rights education showed higher human rights susceptibility than those who did not. Four perception types of human rights were analyzed 'universal social moralists', those who have an idealistic mindset and make decisions based on moral standards, 'practical realists', those who have no intention of breaking out of the social norm and who do not want to take any risks for human rights, 'social system advocates', those who have a clear understanding of the basic human rights concept, but don't think that they should break the rules of society for the sake of individual rights, and 'social contracts advocates', those who are willing to bend the rules of society for human rights, but not to the extent of ruining relationships. These study results are expected to contribute to the possibility of the social viewpoint that human rights sensitivity can be developed in the context of social experience as well as perception.
The authors studied anxiety, using Zung's self-rating anxiety scale(SAS), in the subjects of 127 male and 38 female patients with anxiety disorder. The authors investigated 165 patients in Yeungnam university hospital from January, 1987 to June, 1991. In order to analyze the data on anxiety scores Pearson's product moment coefficient correlation method and factor analysis were carried out by SPSS/PC+ program. The results were as follows : There was significant difference in the mean averages of total anxiety scores among patients with anxiety, disorder and male and female college freshmen: patients with anxiety disorder scored $42.40{\pm}7.74$, male students scored $32.91{\pm}5.70$, female students scored $34.48{\pm}6.00$. The anxiety scores relating to the items of body aches & pains, fatigue, anxiousness, panic, and urinary frequency were relatively high in patients with anxiety disorder. The anxiety scores on the items of restlessness, apprehension, dyspnea, sweating, and insomnia were relatively low in patients with anxiety disorder. Twenty-nine anxiety disorder group(17.5%) showed significantly high anxiety scores of 50 or over. The inter-rater reliability of Zung's self-rating anxiety scale was 0.71.
