Application of wavelet transform in anti-Compton phoswich detector for gamma spectrum

  • The response of an anti-Compton phoswich detector to gamma rays was investigated using Monte-Carlo method, and the pulses from different crystal cases, including gamma deposition only in the LaBr3(Ce) or CsI(Tl) crystal and coincidence in both crystals, were analyzed. A novel pulse discrimination method for gamma deposition events based on wavelet transform analysis, called SSD (Scale Shape Discrimination), was developed in this study. Compared to the traditional PSD (Pulse Shape Discrimination) method, SSD has the advantage of transforming one-dimensional pulses in the time-domain into two-dimensional time-frequency spectra, providing the more useful features for pulse discrimination. The performances of the Compton suppression and Full-energy peak loss using PSD and SSD methods was studied. The results show that the Compton suppression factor IPSD = 5.12 and ISSD = 5.32, and FEP loss factor PLPSD = 0.0554 and PLSSD = 0.0587. Meanwhile, the influences of the cutoff values for pulse discrimination on the results of I and PL with different method were analyzed.

  • This study investigates the evolution and impact of contactless dining services on consumer behavior in the food service industry. Catalyzed by rapid technological advancements and the COVID-19 pandemic, these services have become integral to restaurant operations, reshaping business models and fundamentally altering consumer eating habits. Through a comprehensive analysis of domestic and international case studies, this research elucidates the definition, development, and current state of contactless dining services. The findings reveal that these innovations offer significant advantages, including enhanced convenience, efficiency, and accessibility, leading to increased dining frequency and widespread adoption of digital ordering platforms. Consumers particularly value the temporal and spatial flexibility afforded by these services, enabling food ordering from any location at any time. However, the study also identifies persistent challenges, such as the diminution of human interaction and potential exclusion of digitally disadvantaged populations. To address these issues, the research suggests that restaurants must prioritize customer satisfaction through personalized experiences and intuitive user interfaces, while concurrently developing targeted strategies to accommodate elderly and less tech-savvy clientele. The study posits that ongoing technological innovation will continue to drive industry growth by facilitating increasingly customized services aligned with evolving consumer preferences. These insights provide a valuable framework for restaurant operators.

  • In this paper, domestic standard revision plan of dynamic frequency method which is used both in unmanned automatic toll collection system and manned collection system of the express highway is presented. For such ETCS, the infrared rays (870 nm) of active frequency method and the frequency integrated method (5.8 GHz) are adopted and extended to be operated to the all around the Toll Gate. This standardization plan is based on inter connection reference model between OSI (Open System Interconnection) in process of ITS short range radio communication standardization of 5.8 GHz bandwidth to support traffic information and control system service, and the derived revision plan by starting from physical layer which support interoperability for multiple access between RSE (Road Side Equipment) and OBE (On Board Equipment), in which is categorized into physical layer, data link layer, and application layer. In case of radiation power, existing standard is divided by class1 (within 10 m) and Class2 (within 100 m) according to transmission lengthwhile it is operated with just single standard 'Class1' because of notification of Ministry of Information and Communication in 2004. In the case of the limitation value of incident power in communication area, considering operation plan of ETCS that is on actuality operation the measurements are reflected to the standard. In other wort this paper proposed the improvement standard of incident power, pseudo response in the communication area and radiated power in order to secure stability and compatibility among operator systems about the needed part on ETCS operation.

Healthcare Research for Sexual Satisfaction of Women Using Questionnaire of Smartphone SNS (스마트 폰 SNS 설문조사 통해 알아본 여성의 성 만족도에 관한 헬스케어 연구)

  • This study aimed to compare the differences in sexual function and sexual preference according to demographic characteristics of women, sexual experience, preference penile type, and sexual dysfunction. 72 adult women responded to the survey. 54 respondents were analyzed except respondents who did have incomplete response and no sexual experience. All collected data were analyzed using independent t-test and chi-square test using SPSS 22. In results, Married was significantly higher in intercourse frequency and sexual function than unmarried(p<.05). In economic status, high or middle was significantly higher in the subjective sexual experience and sexual function than the low(p<.05). In subjective sexual experience, high was higher in intercourse frequency than the low, and penile length and type were important(p<.05). preference of glans> penis was significantly higher in subjective sexual experience than preference of glans $${\frac{._-}{.}}$$ penis, and importance of penile girth and size(p<.05). In sexual function, normal function was lower in intercourse frequency than dysfunction, and penile length was not considered significant(p<.05). The results of this study suggest that there may be differences in sexual function and sexual preference according to various causes and can be used as basic data for the development of psychological counseling program for sexual function rehabilitation of women.

Analysis of children's Reaction in Facial Expression of Emotion (얼굴표정에서 나타나는 감정표현에 대한 어린이의 반응분석)

  • The purpose of this study has placed its meaning in the use as the basic material for the research of the person's facial expressions, by researching and analyzing the visual reactions of recognition of children according to the facial expressions of emotion and by surveying the verbal reactions of boys and girls according to the individual expressions of emotion. The subjects of this study were 108 children at the age of 6 - 8 (55 males, 53 females) who were able to understand the presented research tool, and the response survey conducted twice were used in the method of data collection by individual interviews and self administered questionnaires. The research tool using in the questionnaires were classified into 6 types of joy, sadness, anger, surprise, disgust, and fear which could derive the specific and accurate responses. Regarding children's visual reactions of recognition, both of boys and girls showed the high frequency in the facial expressions of joy, sadness, anger, surprise, and the low frequency in fear, disgust. Regarding verbal reactions, it showed the high frequency in the heuristic responses either to explore or the responds to the impressive parts reminiscent to the facial appearances in all the joy, sadness, anger, surprise, disgust, fear. And it came out that the imaginary responses created new stories reminiscent to the facial expression in surprise, disgust, and fear.

The Study of Driving Fatigue using HRV Analysis (HRV 분석을 이용한 운전피로도에 관한 연구)

  • The job of long distance driving is likely to be fatiguing and requires long period alertness and attention, which make considerable demands of the driver. Driving fatigue contributes to driver related with accidents and fatalities. In this study, we investigated the relationship between the number of hours of driving and driving fatigue using heart rate variability(HRV) signal. With a more traditional measure of overall variability (standard deviation, mean, spectral values of heart rate). Nonlinear characteristics of HRV signal were analyzed using Approximate Entropy (ApEn) and Poincare plot. Five subjects drive the four passenger vehicle twice. All experiment number was 40. The test route was about 300Km continuous long highway circuit and driving time was about 3 hours. During the driving, measures of electrocardiogram(ECG) were performed at intervals of 30min. HRV signal, derived from the ECG, was analyzed using time, frequency domain parameters and nonlinear characteristic. The significance of differences on the response to driving fatigue was determined by Student's t-test. Differences were considered significant when a p value < 0.05 was observed. In the results, mean heart rate(HRmean) decreased consistently with driving time, standard deviation of RR intervals(SDRR), standard deviation of the successive difference of the RR intervals(SDSD) increased until 90min. Hereafter, they were almost unchanging until the end of the test. Normalized low frequency component $(LF_{norm})$, ratio of low to high frequency component (LF/HF) increased. We used the Approximate Entropy(ApEn), Poincare plot method to describe the nonlinear characteristics of HRV signal. Nonlinear characteristics of HRV signals decreased with driving time. Statistical significant is appeared after 60 min in all parameters.

Downward Decrease of Non-adrenergic Non-cholinergic Relaxation in the Rabbit Gastric Body (토끼 위체에서 비-아드레날린 비-콜린성 이완반응의 하행성 감소)

  • Non-adenergic non-cholinergic (NANC) innervation on the circular muscle of the rabbit gastric body was investigated by observing the magnitudy of relaxations induced by the elec trical field stimulation (EFS). Strips were cut from the greater curvature of the gastric body and stimulated with 5s trains of 0.5 ms pulses at 1-20 Hz, 40 V. The EFS induced transient frequency-dependent contractons, followed by a slowly recovering relaxation ewpecially at higher frequency of the EFS. In the presence of atropine and guanethidine, the contractions were virtually abolished, while the frequency-dependent relaxations by the EFS remained unaffected. The magnitude of relaxations progressively decreased as the location of the strips gets closer to the bottom of the gastric body. The relaxations were ablished by tetrodotoxin, indicating that their orgin is the NANC nerve stimulation. NG-nitro-L-arginine (L-NNA, 10-$100{\mu}M$), the inhibitor of nitric oxide (NO)-synthase, caused a concentration-dependent inhibition of the NANC relaxations. The inhibitory effects of L-NNA were not affected gy the location of the strips and were reversed by L-arginine, the precursor of NO-biosynthesis. Hemoglobin (20-$60{\mu}M$), a NO scavenger, inhibited the NANC relaxation s in a concentration-dependent manner. This inhibition was more prominent in the NANC relaxations observed in the lower portion of the gastric body and the relaxations induced ly lower frequencies of the EFS. Methyelne blue (10-$100{\mu}M$), an inhibitor of cytosolic guanylate cyclase, markedly inhibited the NANC relaxations, almost abolishing the response at a higher dose ($100{\mu}M$). These results suggest that NANX innervation of the rabbit gastric body progeressively decrease as he location of the strips gets closer to the bottom of the gastric body, and that the NANC relaxation is primarily mediated by NO-guanosine 3',5'-cyclic monophophate (cyclic GMP).

Assessment of Train Running Safety, Ride Comfort and Track Serviceability at Transition between Floating Slab Track and Conventional Concrete Track (플로팅 슬래브궤도와 일반 콘크리트궤도 접속구간에서의 열차 주행 안전, 승차감 및 궤도 사용성 평가)

  • It is of great importance to assure the running safety, ride comfort and serviceability in designing the floating slab track for mitigation of train-induced vibration. In this paper, for this, analyzed are the system requirements for the running safety, ride comfort and serviceability, and then, the behavior of train and track at the floating slab track including the transition zone to the conventional concrete slab track according to several main design variables such as system natural frequency, arrangement of spring at transition, spacing of spring isolators, damping ratio and train speed, using the dynamic analysis technique considering the train-track interaction. The results of this study demonstrate that the discontinuity of the support stiffness at the transition results in a drastic increase of the dynamic response such as wheel-rail interaction force, rail bending stress and rail uplift force. Hence, it is efficient to decrease the spacing of springs or to increase the spring constants at the transition to obtain the running safety and serviceability. On the other hand, the vehicle body acceleration as a measure of ride comfort is little affected by the discontinuity of the stiffness at the transition, but by the system tuning frequency; thus, to obtain the ride comfort, it is of great significance to select the appropriate system tuning frequency. In addition, the effects of damping ratio, spacing of springs and train speed on the dynamic behavior of the system have been discussed.

Development of the Predicted Model for the HMA Dynamic Modulus by using the Impact Resonance Testing and Universal Testing Machine (충격공진실험과 만능재료시험기에 의한 아스팔트 공시체의 동탄성계수 예측 모델 개발)

  • PURPOSES : The dynamic modulus can be determined by applying the various theories from the Impact Resonance Testing(IRT) Method. The objective of this paper is to determine the best theory to produce the dynamic modulus that has the lowest error as the dynamic modulus data obtained from these theories(Complex Wave equation Resonance Method related to either the transmissibility loss or not, Dynamic Stiffness Resonance Method) compared to the results for dynamic modulus determined by using the Universal Testing Machine. The ultimate object is to develop the predictive model for the dynamic modulus of a Linear Visco-Elastic specimen by using the Complex Wave equation Resonance Method(CWRM) came up for an existing study(S. O. Oyadiji; 1985) and the Optimization. METHODS : At the destructive test which uses the Universal Testing Machine, the dynamic modulus results along with the frequency can be used for determining the sigmoidal master curve function related to the reduced frequency by applying Time-Temperature Superposition Principle. RESULTS : The constant to be solved from Eq. (11) is a value of 14.13. The reduced dynamic modulus obtained from the IRT considering the loss factor related to the impact transmissibility has RMSE of 367.7MPa, MPE of 3.7%. When the predictive dynamic modulus model was applied to determine the master curve, the predictive model has RMSE of 583.5MPa, MPE of 3.5% compared to the destructive test results for the dynamic modulus. CONCLUSIONS : Because we considered that the results obtained from the destructive test had the most highest source credibility in this study, the dynamic modulus data obtained respectively from DSRM, CWRM were compared to the results obtained from the destructive test by using th IRT. At the result, the reduced dynamic modulus derived from DSRM has the most lowest error.

The Comparison of Seakeeping Performance Analysis Methods for a High Speed Catamaran (Strip and 3-D Panel Method) (초고속 쌍동선에 대한 내항성능 해석 방법 비교 (스트립 방법과 3-D Panel 방법))

  • The strip method, unified theory and 3-D panel method are commonly used methods for the seakeeping analysis of high-speed vessels. The strip method which is basically 2-dimensional method is known to give incorrect hydrodynamic coefficients and motion responses for the cases of high speed and low frequency region. And the unified theory which uses two dimensional approach in inner domain and slender body theory in outer domain is very complicate in computational modelling. Though the 3-D panel method requires comparatively long computation time, it is believed that the method gives good results without any limitation in ship speed and range of frequency for computation. In the 3-D panel method the source singularity representing translating and pulsating Green function is used and Hoff's method is adopted for the numerical calculation of the Green function. The computation time can be reduced by using the symmetry relationship with respect to longitudinal axis. In this paper the strip method and the 3-D panel method are compared for the seakeeping analysis of a high-speed catamaran. The Compared items are the hydrodynamic coefficients, wave exciting forces, frequency response functions and short-term responses in irregular waves.
