  • The proposed method uses a signal of the smae frequency as the input modulating carrier frequency and of a different phase. This signal is generated in the digital automatic frequency control part to decide the input color demodulated signal. And the phase error from the burst signal is calculated. The calculated phase error is utilized to rmove the phase error contained inthe demodulated color signal. In this paper, digital signal processing of automatic color control is proposed for VCR system campatible with both NTSC and PAL TV systems.

  • A new design method for the LCL filters of three-phase voltage source PWM rectifiers is presented in this paper. Based on the single-phase harmonic equivalent model, the harmonic voltage of the rectifier side is calculated to design the LCL filter parameters by an iterative algorithm, in which the resonance frequency $f_{res}$ and the ratio r between the grid-side inductance and the rectifier-side inductance are selected as known constants. The design criteria and process are introduced and the influence on the design result by the value of the resonance frequency $f_{res}$, ratio r is analyzed. Finally an example (600V, 500kW) is tested by simulation and experiment to verify the validity of the new design method.

  • This paper describes a new phase-difference detection method and the associate process algorithm for calculating the mean value of phase difference detected and OVCXO control value and for monitoring and controlling the DP-PLL operation status to be used in the design of a high-frequency DP-PLL. Through the experiments of DP-PLL implemented with 16-bit processor, memories, pheriperals and OVCXO to eraluate the suggested method and algorithm, it is shown that a remarkable improvement in PLL function such as phase detection, and reference clock tracing capability, jitter absorbability and frequency stability compared with other existing DP-PLL synchronization device is achieved.

  • The correlation identification of the subsurface is a novel electrical prospecting method which could suppress stochastic noise. This method is increasingly being utilized by geophysicists. It achieves the frequency response of the underground media through division of the cross spectrum of the input & output signal and the auto spectrum of the input signal. This is subject to the spectral leakage when the cross spectrum and the auto spectrum are computed from cross correlation and autocorrelation function by Discrete Fourier Transformation (DFT, "To obtain an accurate frequency response of the earth system, we propose an improved correlation identification method which uses all phase Fast Fourier Transform (APFFT) to acquire the cross spectrum and the auto spectrum. Simulation and engineering application results show that compared to existing correlation identification algorithm the new approach demonstrates more precise frequency response, especially the phase response of the system under identification.

  • In OFDM system suitable for high capacity high speed broadband transmission, ICI caused by phase noise degrades system performance seriously by destroying the orthogonality among subcarriers. In this paper, a new STFBC method combining ICI self cancellation scheme and antenna, time, frequency diversity is studied to reduce ICI effectively. CPE and ICI are analyzed by the phase noise linear approximation method in the proposed STFBC OFDM system. CIR, PICR and BER are discussed to compare the system performance degraded by phase noise of PLL. As results, STFBC method significantly reduces ICI. Furthermore, the SCI that usually happens in the traditional STBC, SFBC diversity coding method can be easily avoided.

  • Ear-piercing high-frequency noise from electromagnetic vibrations in motors has become unacceptable in sensitive environments, due to the application of pulse width modulation (PWM) and in consideration of switching losses. This paper proposed a synchronous periodic frequency modulation (SPFM) method based on the interleaving technique for paralleled three-phase voltage source inverters (VSIs) to eliminate PWM vibration noise. The proposed SPFM technique is able to effectively remove unpleasant high-frequency vibration noise as well as acoustic noise more effectively than the conventional periodic carrier frequency modulation (PCFM) and interleaving technique. It completely eliminates the vibration noise near odd-order carrier frequencies and reduces the PWM vibration noise near even-order carrier frequencies depending on the switching frequency variation range. Furthermore, the SPFM method is simple to implement and does not employ additional circuits in the drive system. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed method has been confirmed by detailed experimental results.

Automatic Construction of Korean Unknown Word Dictionary using Occurrence Frequency in Web Documents (웹문서에서의 출현빈도를 이용한 한국어 미등록어 사전 자동 구축)

  • In this paper, we propose a method of automatically constructing a dictionary by extracting unknown words from given eojeols in order to improve the performance of a Korean morphological analyzer. The proposed method is composed of a dictionary construction phase based on full text analysis and a dictionary construction phase based on web document frequency. The first phase recognizes unknown words from strings repeatedly occurred in a given full text while the second phase recognizes unknown words based on frequency of retrieving each string, once occurred in the text, from web documents. Experimental results show that the proposed method improves 32.39% recall by utilizing web document frequency compared with a previous method.

  • It has been generally used for PLL(Phase Locked Loop) to be synthesized randomly chosen frequency state, but the PLL locking time was inevitable element. A direct digital synthesizer. Which makes output frequency directly in sine wave by a phase accumulating method, could be leiminate the defect, although a phase distortion in frequency spectrum. In order to improve this disadvantage, the phase accumulating method is reconsidered in the side of he output wave formula expression. A new mechanism is proposed, and it is constructed by a most suitable logic elements. The spectrum of synthesized sine waveform is simulated and compared with a measured value, and it’s the coherence frequency hoppong state with the PN(Pseudo Noise) code sequence is confirmed. In this results, the power levels of phase distortion harmonics are decreased to 10~25dB and bandwidths are increased to 420kHz.

  • The development of the frequency converter using semiconductor enables to easily control the speed of A.C. motors. It is now technically possible and economically feasible to provide them with power at variable frequency, using silicon-controlled-rectifier (or thyristor) inverters. In such a case, if an induction motor is to be operated efficiently over a wide speed range, it must be supplied from a variable-frequency source whose frequency is adjustable over a range similar to that required for the motor speed. It is desired to observe how several characteristics are changed such as primary current, torque-speed, etc. Although the characteristics could be obtained by means of the conventional method, it requires very complicated calculation. It is assumed that the charateristics above are easily investigated by means of current diagram method from variable circuit constants relating to the motor which is designed in rated frequency. In this paper, the results of the study on the current-diagram method and its application are described as follows; (1) In order to discuss the construction of current diagram, the equation of the stator current with adjustable frequency was derived for applying the Current Diagram Method. (2) The radius, the center of the current circle and current vector locus at any desired frequency could be easily determined with the aid of both above mentioned equation and the standard current diagram at reference frequency. (3) This method could be applicable to the various types of Induction Motors, and this paper has dealt with its application to the capacitor, split-phase and 2-phase types of motors.

  • The relay measures the frequency of the power system in order to detect faults and separate them from the system. Many estimation algorithms for the relay have been proposed to accurately measure the frequency. This paper proposes a new frequency measurement method using the digital phase locked-loop(DPLL) for the relay of the power system. The proposed method is configured with a DPLL scheme and verified through computer simulations and experimental tests. In order to cope with noises in the power system, filters are included in the input signal processing part and the frequency comparator. MATLAB is used for computer simulations and an experimental setup with a CPU and an FPGA(Field Programmable Gate Array) is constructed. The loop filter of the DPLL is run in the CPU software In adjust parameters and others are in the FPGA. Experimental tests are performed lot a function generator and the power system. Results show that the proposed method is appropriate to the frequency measurement for the relay.
