  • In this study, we propose that the structures of spiral inductors have the environment advantage utilizing direct-write and LAM(Laser Ablation of Microparticles) processes without process step of lithography and etching etc. of existing semiconductor process. The structures of inductors have Si thickness of 540${\mu}m$, $SiO_2$ thickness of 3${\mu}m$. The width of Cu coils and the space between segments have 30${\mu}m$, respectively, using for direct-write and LAM processes. The performance of spiral planar inductors was simulated to frequency characteristics for inductance, quality-factor, SRF(Self- Resonance Frequency) using HFSS. The inductors without underpass and via have inductance of 1.11nH over the frequency range of 300 to 800 MHz, quality-factor of maximum 38 at 5 GHz, SRF of 18 GHz. Otherwise, inductors with underpass and via have inductance of 1.12nH over the frequency range of 300 to 800 MHz, quality-factor of maximum 35 at 5 GHz, SRF of 16 GHz.

  • It is known that an EEG is characterized by the unique and personal characteristics of an individual. Little research has been done to take into account these personal characteristics when analyzing EEG signals. Often the EEG has frequency components which can describe most of the significant characteristics. These combinations are often unique like individual human beings and yet they have an underlying basic characteristics as well. We think that these combinations are the personal characteristics frequency components of the EEG. In this seminar, the EEG analysis method by using the Genetic Algorithms (GA), Factor Analysis (FA), and the Neural Networks (NN) is proposed. The GA is used for selecting the personal characteristic frequency components. The FA is used for extracting the characteristics data of the EEG. The NN is used for estimating the characteristics data of the EEG. Finally, in order to show the effectiveness of the proposed method, classifying the EEG pattern is carried out via computer simulations. The EEG pattern is evaluated under 4 conditions: listening to Rock music, Schmaltzy Japanese ballad music, Healing music, and Classical music. The results, when personal characteristics frequency components are NOT used, gave over 80 % accuracy versus a 95 % accuracy when personal characteristics frequency components are used. This result of our experiment shows the effectiveness of the proposed method.

  • Objective: The aim of this paper is to introduces Hyundai Heavy Industry's ergonomic risk assessment tool, H-OWAS, which is considering work load and frequency compared to the OWAS. Background: As prevalence of work-related musculoskeletal disorders(WMSDs) in ship building industries has been much higher than that in other industries, most of the large scaled corporations have implemented their own prevention program since legislation on the prevention of WMSDs had introduced in 2003. Method: This paper introduces WMSDs prevention program, HEMP(HHI Ergonomics Management Program) which consists of risk assessment, improvement efforts of working environments, medical treatment and training/evaluation and describes how to operate the program. We also describe application of OWAS method considering work load and frequency for risk factor analysis(H-OWAS) and shows methodology for assessing the ergonomic risk factor. And comparison of the assessment results between OWAS and H-OWAS is carried out by statistical analysis. Result: There was statistically significant difference in the assessment results between OWAS and H-OWAS, and regression shows H-OWAS explains the borg's scale of perceived exertion more clearly than OWAS. Conclusion: H-OWAS has been proved more effective tool than OWAS to evaluate ergonomic risk factor under real working condition. Application: H-OWAS can be widely applied to the many other companies when implementing the ergonomics risk assessment.

  • In this work, small-size, high-performance solenoid-type RF chip inductors utilizing a low-loss Al$_2$O$_3$core material were investigated. The size of the chip inductors fabricated in this work were 15$\times$10$\times$0.7㎣, 2.1$\times$1.5$\times$10㎣, and 2.4$\times$2.0$\times$1.4㎣ and copper (Cu) wire with 40 ㎛ diameter was used as the coils. High frequency characteristics of the inductance, quality factor, and impedance of developed inductors were measured suing an RF Impedance/Material Analyzer (HP4291B with HP16193A test fixture). It was observed that the developed inductors with the number of turns of 7 have the inductance of 33 to 100nH and exhibit the self-resonant frequency (SRF) of .26 to 1.1 GHz. The SRF of inductors decreases with increasing the inductance and the inductors have the quality factor of 60 to 80 in the frequency range of 300 MHz to 1.1 GHz. In this study, small-size solenoid-type RF chip inductors with high inductance and high quality factor were fabricated successfully. It is suggested that the thin film-type inductor is necessary to fabricate the smaller size inductors at the expence of inductance and quality factor values.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the vibration characteristics and develop a mounting which can improve the strength safety factor to replace the high failure rate APU(auxiliary power unit) imported metal mounts with rubber mount that can be domestically produced. For this study, we analyzed in 3 kinds of rubber mounts hardness for the natural frequency to avoid the average excited frequency of the APU. In addition, allowed vibration acceleration of rubber mount confirmed to 90.8 g by adding a strength safety factor. To assure the validity of the design, we measure the vibration acceleration equipped with a metal mount and rubber mount 2 species(Hs 50 and 60). As a result, the proposed design method in this study is reasonable because the rubber mounts is excellent strength safety factor and vibration transmissibility than metal mounts.

  • In the case of a general spiral inductor, the orientation of the port is affected as it has an asymmetric structure. In this paper, a single-layered spiral inductor that can have a symmetrical structure is proposed, and the simulation and frequency characteristics are analyzed. The general spiral inductor shows a large difference in frequency-inductance characteristics, frequency-quality factor characteristics, and self-resonant frequency according to the standard of the port, while the proposed symmetric spiral inductor has an inductance of 2.7nH, a quality factor of about 7.86, and a self-resonant frequency of about 14.1GHz without changing the port. Compared to the general spiral inductor having a large difference depending on the port, it was confirmed that the influence on the port direction was small. However, it was confirmed that the mutual inductance decreased compared to the occupied area of the coil, resulting in a low inductance, and the resistance of the coil increased more than the increase in the inductance, and the quality factor was also lowered. In the future, it is expected that inductance and quality factor can be improved through a 2-layer symmetrical spiral structure.

  • Nonlinear distortion arising from the nonlinear movement of the loudspeaker diaphragm degradates the tone quality. The distortion is, in low frequency range, mainly caused by nonlinear characteristics of the suspension stiffness and the force factor. In this paper, the nonlinear suspension stiffness and the nonlinear force factor are modeled to the quadratic functions and a method is proposed to determine their coefficients. An additional mass to the diaphragm moved the quiescent point of the diaphragm and uncoupled the stiffness and the force factor. This made it possible to deter mine the coefficients of the nonlinear suspension stiffness by measuring the resonance frequencies at several quiescent points. The coefficients of the nonlinear force factor are then determined by fitting the curve which is calculated from the waveforms of input voltage and input current, and the displacement of the diaphragm at resonance frequency.

  • The effect of calcining temperature on planar coupling factor Kp resonance and antiresonance frequency of $Pb(Z_{0.53}Ti_{0.47})O_3$ doped with $Nb_2O_5$ has been investigated. The calcining temperature ranged from $700^{\circ}C$ to 110$0^{\circ}C$ The calcining temperature affected on antiresonance frequency more strongly than the resonance frequency. Therefore the Kp was almost entirely dependent upon the antiresonance frequency. The p and antiresonance frequency of the sample in creased with the calcining temperature reaching a maximum at about 90$0^{\circ}C$ When a poling electric field of 35KV/cm was applied to the sample calcined at 90$0^{\circ}C$ and sintered for two hours at 120$0^{\circ}C$ Kp attained a maximum value of 0.64 which is in good agreement with the results of other investigators.

  • Acoustic behavior in gas turbine combustor with acoustic resonator is investigated numerically by adopting linear acoustic analysis. Helmholtz-type resonator is employed as acoustic resonator to suppress acoustic instability passively. The tuning frequency of acoustic resonator is adjusted by varying its length. Through harmonic analysis, acoustic-pressure responses of chamber to acoustic excitation are obtained and the resonant acoustic modes are identified. Acoustic damping effect of acoustic resonator is quantified by damping factor. As the tuning frequency of acoustic resonator approaches the target frequency of the resonant mode to be suppressed, mode split from the original resonant mode to lower and upper modes appears and thereby complex patterns of acoustic responses show up. Considering mode split and damping effect as a function of tuning frequency, it is desirable to make acoustic resonator tuned to broad-band frequencies near the maximum frequency of those of the possible upper modes.
