A double cantilever sandwich-beam method has been applied to the evaluation of the frequency dependence of dynamic elastic modulus and material loss factor of EPDM rubbers. The flexural vibration of a double cantilever sandwich-beam specimen with an inserted rubber layer was studied using a finite element simulation in combination with the sine-sweep test. Effects of the rubber layer length on the dynamic characteristics were also investigated: reliable values were measured when the length of the inserted rubber layer was larger than and equal to 50% of the effective specimen length. The values were compared with those obtained by the dynamic mechanical analysis and the simple resonant test. Relationships of the dynamic characteristics of rubbers with frequency could be determined using the least square error method.
This paper presents the analysis of wind speeds data measured on top of three neighboring high-rise buildings close to a beach in Xiamen city, China, during Typhoon "Usagi" 2013. Wind tunnel simulation was carried out to validate the field measurement results. Turbulence intensity, turbulence integral scale, power spectrum and cross correlation of recorded wind speed were studied in details. The low frequency trend component of the typhoon speed was also discussed. The field measurement results show turbulence intensity has strong dependence to the wind speed, upwind terrain and even the relative location to the Typhoon center. The low frequency fluctuation could severely affect the characteristics of wind. Cross correlation of the measured wind speeds on different buildings also showed some dependence on the upwind terrain roughness. After typhoon made landfall, the spatial correlation of wind speeds became weak with the coherence attenuating quickly in frequency domain.

The gate bias dependence of kink phenomenon with a large deviation from the resistance circle in Smith chart is observed in the frequency response of $S_{11}$-parameter for large multi-finger RF MOSFETs. For the first time, this bias dependence is analyzed by measuring magnitude and phase of $S_{11}$-parameter, input resistance and input capacitance. As a result, $V_{gs}$ dependent $S_{11}$-parameter is largely changed by the magnitude of input capacitance as well as dominant pole and zero frequencies of input resistance. At $V_{gs}=0V$, the kink phenomenon occurs in the high frequency region because of very small phase difference of $S_{11}$-parameter and high pole frequency of input resistance. However, the kink phenomenon at higher $V_{gs}$ is generated in the low frequency region owing to large phase difference and low pole frequency.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships among Clothing Satisfaction, Social approval, Psychological dependence, and Social security-insecurity and to determine the difference of clothing behaviors by the demographic variables such as age, socioeconomics status, education, religion, and material status. Clothing Satisfaction was measured by Rim's Questionnaire(1974) moditide and supplemented for this study. For the measurement of Social approval and Psychological dependence, the Clothing Interest Inventory developed by Creekmore (1971) was adapted for this story. The measurement for the Social security-insecurity was adapted from Lapitsky's (1961) Social Security Inventory. Data were collected from 322 purposively selected elderly women over sixty dwelling in Seoul by means of interviews. For statistical analysis, frequency distribution, one-way analysis of variance, Pearson's correlation coefficients were used. The results were as follows: 1. There were significant relationships among Clothing satisfaction, Social approval, and Psychological dependence. Negative significant relaionships were found between Clothing satisfaction and Social approval and between Clothing satisfaction and Psychological dependence. 2. There was negative significant relationship between Social security-insecurity and Clothing satisfaction, while positive significant relationships were found between Social security-insecurity and Social approval, and between Social security- insecurity and Psychological dependence. 3. There was significant difference in Clothing satisfaction according to socioeconomic status and education. 4. There was significant difference in Social approval according to socioeconomic statusand education. 5. There was significant difference in Psychological dependence according to education and religion.
Purpose: This study was done to identify attitudes to smoking, beliefs about smoking and factors influencing nicotine dependence in woman smokers. Methods: Data was collected from 131 women smokers, who visited a public health center between January and July. 2012. Collected data were analyzed using the SPSS 18.0 program. Results: Mean score for attitude to smoking was $23.7{\pm}3.2$, beliefs about smoking, $18.6{\pm}2.9$, and nicotine dependence, $4.3{\pm}2.1$. Attitude to smoking of the woman smokers was significantly different according to marital status, beliefs about smoking were significantly different according to marital status and being employed. Nicotine dependence was significantly different according to frequency of alcohol consumption, stress, number of cigarettes smoked. There was a correlation between attitude to smoking and beliefs about smoking. Age when starting to smoke, number of cigarettes, and length of time one has smoked accounted for 31.0% of nicotine dependence. Conclusion: The results indicate that increasing knowledge and improving attitudes toward smoking as well as training on stress management and exercise are needed. Also, a distinct mediation should be developed for women smokers. Especially, in-depth research is needed to identify psycho-social behavior-related variables for the health promotion of young women smokers.
In this paper, we theoretically demonstrate that semiconductor optical amplifiers (SOAs) with strong wavelength dependence of gain and phase are capable of all-optical inverted and non-inverted wavelength conversion (WC) over a wide range, with the assistance of an optical filter. First, the gain dynamics and phase dynamics in a common quantum well (QW) SOA with the $In_{0.53}Ga_{0.47}As/In_{0.7322}Ga_{0.2678}As_{0.5810}P_{0.4190}$ material system are found to be strongly dependent on wavelength, which is mainly related to the wavelength dependence of the differential gain and the differential refractive-index change. Second, the wavelength dependence in an all-optical wavelength converter based on the QW SOA cascaded with a detuning band pass filter is studied. Simulations show that the quality of the converted signal has little dependence on the operation wavelength. Both inverted and non-inverted WC can be achieved, over a large wavelength range. Therefore, although the gain and phase change are strongly wavelength-dependent, the effects of this dependence can be erased by appropriate optical filtering.
The purpose of this study was to investigate differences in social play, cognitive play, and social-cognitive play patterns as related to young children's field independence-dependence cognitive styles. Sixteen field independent and sixteen field dependent children were selected from a group of 79 young children with the use of Preschool Embedded Figures Test(PEFT). Their social play, cognitive play, and social-cognitive play patterns were observed. The data collected for this study were analyzed by using SPSS/$PC^+$; frequency, percentage and ${\chi}^2$ test. The results of this study were that (1) difference of social play patterns as related to young children's field independence-dependence cognitive styles was not found, (2) differences were found in cognitive play patterns as related to young children's field independence-dependence cognitive styles, and (3) differences were found in social-cognitive play pattern as related to young children's field independence-dependence cognitive styles.
This study is an effort to bring our attention to social dependence on alcohol, focusing on previous studies of drinking behaviors. Although drinking behavior and problems must be understood in a biopsychosocial framework, a certain aspect is often ignored in alcohol research. A few attention has been paid to social aspect of alcohol abuse or dependence. Social processes of drinking behavior deserve to have same attention as other aspects, psychological and physical aspects of the behavior. Literature show that the interdependence among group members exists to regulate individual's drinking behavior. Such social interactions tend to control drinking level for individual in terms of amounts, frequency, and preference. The drinking level tends to be dependent on desires for heavy drinkers, ignoring variabilities of individual's sensitivity to alcohol. However, such a heavy-oriented tendency in drinking behavior may have different patterns which are function of normative orientation of alcohol. negotiation among group members, and ethnoreligious characteristics. Perspectives from conflict tradition and symbolic interactionism are welcomed to illuminate multi-dimentional aspects of social dependence. Policy implication were discussed from public health perspective.
The measured damping ratio was analysed to obtain amplitude dependence. Wind-induced vibration of 20 story steel-framed building was measured to investigate amplitude dependence by RD method. Micro-tremo vibrations of 20 RC bearing wall typed buildings were performed to analysis the amplitude dependence by formula proposed by Tamua and ESDU. Amplitude dependent damping in 17 story steel-framed building was showed clearly in the increasing rate of 9%. But Amplitude dependent damping of 17 RC bearing wall typed buildings was very low in the increasing rate of 2.5%. The tendency of dynamic properties of building obtained here are useful for the validation of dynamic properties of buildings in the evaluation of serviceability.

The purpose of this study was to explore factors associated with smartphone dependence among adults in their 20s. The data were derived from the 2017 Survey on Smartphone Over-dependence conducted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the National Information Society Agency. There were 3,684 participants. The data were analyzed by frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, independent t-test, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and weighted hierarchical multiple regression analysis. For the results, factors related with higher smartphone dependence of participants were duration (β=.18, p=.000) and frequency (β=.04, p=.000) of usage, gaming (β=.15, p=.000), watching videos (β=.09, p=.000), mobile shopping (β=.05, p=.000), working (β=.05, p=.010), e-mailing (β=.13, p=.000), and sports betting (β=.07, p=.000). Music (β=-.07, p=.000) and adult content (β=-.07, p=.000) significantly reduced their smartphone dependence. SNS (Social Networking Services) (β=.01, p=.358) and instant messengers (β=-.02, p=.330) were not factors related to smartphone dependence. However, instant messengers were the most used by participants and had a strong correlation with working (r=.55, p=.000). This study shows that smartphone usage patterns related with smartphone dependence among adults in their 20s are different from those of children and adolescents. These results could be used to more deeply understand smartphone dependence among adults in their 20s and plan early detection and prevention and care of dependence.
