프락토, 이소말토 및 갈락토 올리고당들의 쇠고기단백질 냉동변성방지효과 연구 (Cryoprotectant Effects of Fructo-, Isomalto-, and Galacto-Oligosaccharides on Beef Protein)

  • A study was conducted to investigate cryoprotectant effect of commercially produced oligosaccharides (IMO: isomalto-oligosaccharides, FO: fructo-oligosaccharides and GO: galacto-oligosaccharides) on beef protein and to compare their effectiveness to sucrose or a mixture of sucrose and sorbitol on freezing. The optimal addition level of cryoprotectants was determined by measuring $Ca^{2+}$-ATPase activity of sample treated with different concentration (0 to 12%) after freeze-thaw cycle. Since the stabilization effect was not dramatically increased above 8% sugar concentrations, the 8% was determined as an usage level. During frozen storage (at -18$^{\circ}C$ for 12 week), commercially produced oligosaccharides showed lower cryoprotection ability than sucrose but higher than sucrose+sorbitol as measured by protein solubilities and $Ca^{2+}$-ATPase activities.

  • During recent years, the durability of concrete structures has been considered in concret practice and material research. To preserve the brittleness of concrete as well as energy absorption and impact resistance, amount of fiber usage has greatly increased in the field of public works. Ultra fine powder, silica fume, mixed into concrete, it reduce void of concrete structure. Especially, there's a great effect for strength improvement of concrete by initial pozzolanic reactions. For these reasons, if silica fume mixed into concrete, it decrease the total void by microfilter effect . Pozzolan reaction, between cement particle and silica powder, can elaborate the micro structure of matrix. And so, in this paper, we deal SFRC for the purpose of efficiently using of industrial by-products(silica fume). Also we performed the test for durability such as freeze-thaw resistance and accelerated carbonation of SFRC using silica fume.

  • During recent years the durability of concrete structures has attracted considerable interest in concrete practice, material research and long-term deformation. To preserve the brittleness of concrete as well as energy absorption and impact resistance, amount of fiber usage has greatly increased year to year in the field of public works. When fly ash, fine powder, mixed into concrete, it condensed the void of concrete structure. Expecially, there's a great effect for strength improvement of concrete by initial pozzolanic reactions. Pozzolan reaction, between cement particle and fly ash, can elaborate the micro structure of matrix. So it was able to improve the effect of fiber reinforced by increased adhesion between cement paste and steel fiber. And so, in this paper, we dealt SFRC for the purpose of efficiently using of industrial by-products and its economical manufacturing. Also we performed the test for durability such as chemical resistance, freeze-thaw resistance and accelerated carbonation of SFRC using fly ash.

혹한·혹서 피해 저감용 PCM 혼입콘크리트의 내구성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Durability of PCM Mixed Concrete for the Reduction of Cold and Hot Damage)

  • 연구목적:본 연구에서는 혹서 및 혹한 환경에 노출 콘크리트에서 발생할 수 있는 재난을 방지하기위해 PCM을 활용해 콘크리트에 열성능을 부여하고 내구성에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 연구방법:두 종류의 PCM을 시멘트 부피대비 10, 30, 50% 혼입한 콘크리트를 제작한 후 공극량, 동결융해 저항성, 스케일링 저항성을 평가하였다. 연구결과:종류에 상관없이 PCM 분말을 콘크리트에 혼입할 경우 공극량이 감소되는 것으로 나타났고 10%, 30% 혼입시 동결융해 저항성 또한 향상되는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 혼입량이 높아질수록 스케일링 저항성이 향상되는 것을 확인하였다. 결론: 분말형태의 PCM을 콘크리트에 혼입 시 일정수준까지는 채움효과에 의해 내구성을 향상시킬 수 있을 것으로 판단되며 실제 현장 적용을 위해서는 추가적으로 다양한 연구가 뒷받침 되어야 할 것으로 사료된다.

Post-Damage Repair of Prestressed Concrete Girders

  • Concrete is an economical construction material and for that reason it is widely used in buildings and infrastructures. The use of deicing salts, expansion joint failure, and freeze-thaw cycles have led to concrete bridge girders experiencing corrosion of steel reinforcement and becoming unsafe for driving. The goal of this research is to assess the effectiveness of current and possible repair techniques for the end region of damaged prestressed concrete girders. To do this, three American Association of State Highway and Transportation prestressed concrete girders were tested to failure, repaired, and retested. Three different repair materials were tested including carbon fiber, glass fiber, and surface mounted rods. Each different repair material was also tested with and without injected epoxy. Comparisons were then made to determine if injecting epoxy had a positive effect on stiffness and strength recovery as well as which repair type regained the largest percentage of original strength.

  • Shotcrete needs the enough durability without deterioration for life time. But shotcrete is being deteriorated according to aging like concrete by internal causes whithin itself and by external causes which can be physical, chemical, or mechanical. Durable shotcrete can be made by incresing the cement content, adding chemical and mineral admixtures and so on. So, in this study, chloride ion penetration test, freeze and thaw test, neutralization test were conducted to examine the durability characteristice of shotcrete with mineral admixtures such as silica fume, blast-furnace slag and fly ash. These results indicate that shotcrete with silica fume is durable. Therefore, the present study provides a firm base to make high performance shtcrete.

혼합재를 사용한 시멘트경화체의 해수 중에서의 동결융해 저항성 (Freezing and Thawing Resistance of Hardened Cement Paste Containing Blending Materials in the Sea Water)

  • In this study, the freezing and thawing resistance in sea-water of hardened cement paste was investigated by adding slag, diatomaceous earth and fly ash as blending materials and air entraining agent and superplasticizer as admixtures to the cement paste. The structure of hardened cement pate was densified by potential hydraulic properties and pozzolan reactivities of materials and the freezing and thawing resistance of the paste was improved with the effect blending materials and admixtures. As the blending materials were added to the paste, the quantity of C3A was relatively reduced and the formation of expansive ettringite was suppressed to decrease the penetration of sea-water or Cl-, SO42-ion, and then freeze-thaw resistance was enhanced. Particulary, when 40% of slag was mixed, the resistance was excellent.

  • Concrete and shotcrete should withstand the conditions for which they have been designed, without deterioration, over a period of years. But connote and shotcrete are being deteriorated according to aging by internal and external causes. Recently, many studies on the durability of concrete have been conducted But the durability of shotcrete is rarely studied. So, in this study, chloride ion penetration test freeze and thaw test neutralization test were conducted to examine the durability characteristics of shotcrete with several accelerator and chemical admixture types. These results indicate that shotcrete with allah free accelerator and with superplasticizer are durable. Therefore, the present study provides a fm base to make high performance shotcrete.

The effect of acid environment and thawing and freezing cycles on the mechanical behavior of fiber-reinforced concrete

  • This research examined the mechanical behavior of fiber-reinforced concrete at unstable environmental conditions. Concrete composites with varying percentages of steel and glass fibers were analyzed. Compressive, indirect tensile, and fracture toughness properties were evaluated using the Edge Notched Disc Bend (ENDB) test under freezing-thawing and acidic environments and the results were compared with normal conditions. Steel fibers decreased the strength in the specified cycles, while glass fibers showed a normal strength trend. The compressive, tensile and fracture toughness of the samples containing 1.5 vol.% fibers showed a 1.28-, 2.13- and 4.5-fold enhancement compared to samples without fibers, after 300 freezing-thawing cycles, respectively.

  • 구조물은 사용연한 경과에 따른 노후화 및 용도 변경 등에 의한 보수.보강시 널리 행해지는 부착공법 중 탄소섬유, 아라미드섬유, 유리섬유 등을 이용한 섬유보강 폴리머(Fiber-reinforced polymer,FRP) 보강공법은 섬유 자체의 내화학성, 내구성과 우수한 시공성 등의 장점을 지니고 있다. 현재 FRP 부착공법을 이용한 보강설계 및 보강구조물의 내력 계산시, 콘크리트 부재와의 부착력을 완전부착으로 가정하고 있으나 콘크리트 구조물이 내부적 요인 및 외부 환경요인에 의해 열화될 경우 내력저하 및 1차적인 표면부 열화로 인한 FRP 부착면적의 손실발생이 우려된다. 하게 된다. 따라서 노후화에 따라 내력저하를 보이는 철근콘크리트 구조물에 FRP 보강시 열화에 따른 FRP 보강부재와 콘크리트 모재 간의 부착력 손실에 관한 연구가 필요하며, 본 연구에서는 환경적 요인에 의해 열화되는 철근콘크리트 부재의 파괴양상 및 구조성능과 FRP 보강부재와 콘크리트 모재와의 부착성능 저하현상을 분석하기 위하여 동결융해에 따른 CFRP 쉬트의 보강성능을 실험적으로 규명하고자 한다.
