How does the gas in a disk galaxy affect the evolution of a stellar bar?

  • In barred galaxies, gaseous structures such a nuclear ring and dust lanes are formed by a non-axisymmetric stellar bar potential, and the evolution of the stellar bar is influenced by mass inflows to the center and central star formation. To study how the presence of the gas affects the evolution of the stellar bar, we use the mesh-free hydrodynamics code GIZMO and run fully self-consistent three-dimensional simulations. To explore the evolution with differing initial conditions, we vary the fraction of the gas and stability of initial disks. In cases when the initial disk is stable with Q=1.2, the bar strength in the model with 5% gas is weaker than that in the gas-free model, while the bar with 10% gas does not form a bar. This suggests that the gaseous component is unfavorable to the bar formation dynamically. On the other hand, in models with relatively unstable disk with Q=1.0, the presence of gas helps form a bar: the bar forms more rapidly and strongly as the gas fraction increases. This is because the unable disks form stars vigorously, which in turn cools down the stellar disk by adding newly-created stars with low velocity dispersion. However, the central mass concentration also quickly increases as the bar grows in these unstable models, resulting in fast bar dissolution in gas rich models. We will discuss our results in comparison with previous work.

LPG 연료용 비황분계 부취제의 적용성 연구 (A Study on the Application of Sulfur-Free Odorant for LPG Fuel)

  • 일반적으로 황분계 부취제는 연료가스로 인한 가스중독, 발화, 폭발 등의 사고를 방지하고, 배출가스에 의해 연료 가스 누출의 즉각적으로 손쉽게 검출할 수 있도록 LPG, 그리고 도시가스와 같은 연료가스에 첨가 사용하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 기존의 황을 함유한 가스용 부취제를 대체하여 연료의 저황분화와 금속 부식성을 낮출 수 있는 LPG 연료용 비황분계 부취제 개발을 위하여 실험하였다. 비황분계 부취제는 황을 함유하지 않는 12개의 부취물질을 선정하였으며, 직접 관능법에 의한 취질과 취기 평가를 실험하였다. 최종 선정된 혼합 부취물질은 methyl isovalerate, methyl acrylate, 2-ethyl-3-methyl pyrazine이며, 이때 조성비는 50% : 40% : 10% 이다. 최종 비황분계 부취제(K-Petro S-Free)는 LPG 연료에 40 wt ppm 혼합하여 품질평가, 금속 부식성 평가 그리고 장기 안정성 평가를 실험하였다. 이 때 LPG 연료용 비황분계 부취제는 국내 LPG 연료의 품질기준을 모두 만족하였다. 또한 금속에 대한 부식성에는 영향이 없으며, 60일간의 장기 안정성 평가에서 LPG연료의 조성에 영향을 주지 않았다. 따라서 최종 선정된 비황분계 부취제(K-Petro S-Free)는 LPG 연료의 첨가제로서 가능성을 보여주고 있다.

  • 14atm, 233K의 아세틸렌 기체를 자유팽창 시켜서 생성한 아세틸렌 cluster의 상과 온도 변화를 실험적으로 측정하였으며, cluster를 여러 겹의 shell로 나누어 취급하고 각 shell 마다 증발과 열전도 현상에 근거한 온도계산을 하는 모델링을 적용하여 이론적인 온도를 구하고 실험값과 비교함으로써, 생성된 cluster의 크기를 4.88$\mu$으로 결정하였다.

Development and Decay of Columnar Vortex in two faces interface ; gas/liquid and solid/liquid

  • Vortices terminating at free surface have been investigated extensively. however. are focused on surface parallel vortices and little has been known about surface normal vortex or columnar vortex. Visualized experimental results utilizing LlF technique are discussed for the purpose of characterization of columnar vortex interacting with a clean and a contaminated free surfaces and a solid body interface in the present investigation. The results reveal that surface tension changes due to surface contamination although bulk viscosity remains constant and eventually the behavior of a columnar vortex interacting with a contaminated free surface and a solid body interface are totally different from the clean free surface case.

  • 만성 하악골염, 유행성출혈, 만성 신부전 및 간 경변증을 가진 환자의 혈청중에 포함된 여러가지 종류의 유리아미노산의 정량분석을 gas-liquid chromatography (G. L. C.)로 측정하였고, 건강인들의 유리아미노산의 정량과 비교한 결과 환자의 종류에 따라서 혈청중에 포함된 유리아미노산의 양에 차이가 있음을 발견 하였다.

천연가스 유량 측정에서 헬름홀츠 자유에너지를 이용한 임계유동함수 계산 (Evaluation of Critical Flow Function by Using Helmholtz Free Energy for Natural Gas Flow Measurement)

  • 본 연구에서는 천연가스 유량 측정에서 2차 표준으로 사용되는 소닉노즐 뱅크 -12개 노즐 패키지로 구성-의 임계유동함수 계산 시간을 1초 이하로 단축하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 AGA 8-dc 상태방정식을 적용한 헬름홀츠 자유에너지를 유도하고 이로부터 적분 항이 없는 열역학 상태량 식을 도출하여 CFF 계산에 적용하였다. 그 결과 CFF 계산 시간이 기존 6.7초/12개에서 0.6초/12개로 크게 감소하는 것을 확인할 수 있었고 이 계산 시간은 가스 성분 수와 거의 무관함도 알 수 있었다. 또한 본 계산 결과의 정확도를 확인하기 위해 기존 CFF 국제비교연구의 결과와 비교한 결과 차이가 없음도 확인하였다.

  • A tubular packed bed reactor for the steam-$CO_2$ combined reforming of natural gas to produce the synthesis gas of a target $H_2/CO$ ratio 2.0 was simulated. The effects of the reactor dimension, the feed gas composition, and the gas feeding temperature upon the possibility of coke formation across the catalyst bed were investigated. For this purpose, 2-dimensional heterogeneous reactor model was used to determine the local gas concentrations and temperatures over the catalyst bed. The thermodynamic potential distribution of coke formation was determined by comparing the extent of reaction with the equilibrium constant given by the reaction, $CH_4+2CO{\Leftrightarrow}3C+2H_2O$. The simulation showed that catalysts packed in the central region nearer the entrance of the reactor were more prone to coking because of the regional characteristics of lower temperature, lower concentration of $H_2O$, and higher concentration of CO. With the higher feeding temperature, the feed gas composition of the increased $H_2O$ and correspondingly decreased $CO_2$, or the decrease in the reactor diameter, the volume fraction of the catalyst bed subsequent to coking could be diminished. Throughout the simulation, reactor dimension and reaction condition for coking-free operation were suggested.

주위조건 변화에 대한 증발 디젤분무 거동특성 연구 (Study on the Behavior Characteristics of the Evaporative Diesel Spray under Change in Ambient Conditions)

  • To analyze the mixture formation process of evaporating diesel spray is important for emissions reduction in actual engines. Then the effects of change in density of ambient gas on spray structure in high temperature and pressure field have been investigated in this study. The ambient gas density was changed from ${\rho}_a=5.0kg/m^3$ to ${\rho}_a=12.3kg/m^3$ with CVC(Constant Volume Chamber). Also, simulation study by modified KIVA-II code was conducted and compared with experimental results. The ambient temperature and injection pressure are kept as 700K and 72MPa, respectively. The images of liquid and vapor phase in the evaporating free spray were simultaneously taken by exciplex fluorescence method. As experimental results, with increasing ambient gas density, the tip penetration of the evaporating free spray decreases due to the increase in the drag force from ambient gas. The spatial structure of a diesel spray can be verified as 2-regions consisted of liquid with momentum decrease and vapor with large-scale vortex. The calculated results obtained by modified KIVA-II code show good agreements with experimental results.

무수은 제논 EEFL의 전기적 특성 (Electric Properties of Mercury-free Xe EEFL)

  • This paper had mentioned about CCP light source application for increasing the efficiency of Xe lamp the mercury-free lamp. In order to increase the efficiency of Xe EEFL, we designed and manufactured the lamp used by mixture gas of Xe, Ne and He. Also, we have analyzed the electrical and optical properties with the firing voltage, sustain voltage, paschen's curve, wall charge, and capacitance. As a result, the firing voltage decreased by increasing the ration of mixture gas. and, It is owing to include the gas with high ionization energy. The firing voltage decreased in condition happening the penning effect, Because the ion of metastable state created from penning effect, Which can encourage the ionization phenomena. Also, the wavelength of 467.12 is increase. because of the energy transition in the wavelength of 147 nm. therefore, we can know about the affection of phosphor with UV emission properties. Through an experiment, Xe 100 % and Xe 75 % confirmed same spectrum properties by each mixture gas ratio. In the case of Xe 50 %, spectrum properties appeared Xe discharge and Ne-He discharge. That analyzed an electrical and optical properties. Therefore, confirmed that is excellent because properties of firing voltage, wall charge, capacitance in Xe 50 %, Ne : He = 9 : 1. We offered parameter in inverter manufacture and lamp manufacture by electrical and optical properties.
