  • As service-oriented software is considered as one of solutions to fulfill the users' needs in internet service environment, it has been increased the demands of reliable service development by the composition of internet services. However a critical issue in the service development approach is to satisfy the performance requirement as well as the functional correctness for the developing services, because impatient user multiply clicks the request-button of service without a short waiting. This paper proposes a framework to examine the performance of composite service. Our testing framework provides the data of service response time to service developer by measuring the service execution time. We develope an Aspect-based timer service, and weave the service with existing services to measure the execution time. Additionally, we perform some experiments to confirm the usefulness of performance test for composite service. This framework can support to develop a good performance service by substitution of the dragging service with another new service that will be a component of composite service.

  • CBD(Component Based Development) can make use of component of block unit that is implementation beforehand and shorten software development cost and time. Also, component can reduce complexity for the large application development because it can hide detail part of internal and offer interface. Common requirement of family in the enterprise framework environment can express workflow, but it is very difficult that express special workflow in single component on various family member's requirement. Therefore, necessity about workflow variability management between component for family member and implementation method had been required constantly This treatise presents implementation techniques for component workflow variability in enterprise framework under .NET base. • The ongoing proliferation of new services, applications, and contents is leading the Internet to an architectural crisis owing to its inability to provide efficient solutions to new requirements. Clean-slate architectures for the future Internet offer a new approach to tackle current and future challenges. This proposal introduces a novel clean-slate architecture in which the TCP/IP protocol stack is decoupled in basic functionalities, that is, atomic services (ASs). A negotiation protocol, which enables context-aware service discovery for providing adapted communications, is also specified. Then, we present how ASs can be discovered and composed according to requesters' requirements. In addition, a media service provisioning use case shows the benefits of our framework. Finally, a proof-of-concept implementation of the framework is described and analyzed. This paper describes the first clean-slate architecture aligned with the work done within the ISO/IEC Future Network working group.

  • This paper discusses the components of a guaranteed maximum price (GMP) and proposes a framework for the development of GMPs as contract payment provisions for construction manager-at-risk (CMR) and design-build (DB) contracts for transportation projects. The framework is the synthesis of a comprehensive literature review, a content analysis of CMR and DB solicitation documents and contracts, and case study project output from twelve projects in nine states worth $3.1 billion. The research also discusses the development of three common types of contingencies that are often utilized in projects with GMPs. The study concludes that owners should specify the structure of the GMP and its components to enhance clarity and understanding of the GMP's composition. It recommends that this structure be included in the CMR and DB solicitation documents so that pricing proposals can be formulated in a manner that is consistent with the contract payment provisions that will be useful to practitioners that need to implement GMP-based contracts.

  • Web service is an important technology to develop business to business e-commerce application. From a business perspective of time to market, dynamic evolution offers flexibility that software can adapt to unforeseen and fluctuating business requirements. OWL-S, based on OWL, is a service ontology language. The semantics provided by OWL support automation of service discovery, invocation, and service composition. In this paper we propose a framework to support dynamic evolution of service-oriented applications. We extend use-case analysis method to derive service description by defining requirements concept and mapping from requirement concept to activity diagram. A prototype is provided to show the validity of this framework.

  • Urban regeneration is a large-scale program that must address challenges such as a significant number of involved projects, diverse participants and their conflicting objectives, and a long life span. In an effort to address these issues, the Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM) is applied to urban regeneration in order to provide a guideline to enhance urban regeneration program management. Through a survey, three major functionalities required in the IETM are identified: process map provision, customized information delivery, and communication ability with other information systems. To achieve these functionalities, the development framework of the IETM and the associated technologies are examined. Its characteristics can be sum up ontology-driven metadata, user-oriented process map composition system and so on. Finally, the usage scenarios of the IETM are discussed.

  • Structured modeling provides a formal mathematical framework, language, and computer-based environment for conceiving, representing, and manipulating a wide variety of model. It provides a natural framework for integrated modeling owing to its explicit representation power for computational dependencies among submodles. Nevertheless, it doesn't seem to offer a systematic way of composing a structured model from submodels. In order to develop a systematic way, this paper discusses three key issues : (1) Genus structure for model composition, (2) Storage of structured models, and (3) Integration of structured models. To formalize and visualize the approach, a programming module is developed to implemented the step-by-step integration.

  • In order to understand the characteristics of the Japanese conception of space, we examined the characteristics of Japanese human geography, schools of thought, and aesthetics through the examinations on relevant documents. In addition, we reorganized such cultural backgrounds in relation to the Japanese perception of space, extracting the fundamental principles and elements of Japanese space composition and examining their significance. We propose a structural framework for understanding and analyzing Japanese space based on the reciprocal relationship and meaning among the various elements of Japanese space. Using this analytical framework, we studied the representative works of Japanese interior space, concluding in an analysis of the expressive characteristics of the Japanese notion of space.

  • This paper proposes a novel aesthetic photo recomposition method using a deep convolutional neural network (DCNN). Previous recomposition approaches define the aesthetic score of photo composition based on the distribution of salient objects, and enhance the photo composition by maximizing the score. These methods suffer from heavy computational overheads, and often fail to enhance the composition because their optimization depends on the performance of existing salient object detection algorithms. Unlike previous approaches, we address the photo recomposition problem by utilizing DCNN, which shows remarkable performance in object detection and recognition. DCNN is used to iteratively predict cropping directions for a given photo, thus generating an aesthetically enhanced photo in terms of composition. Experimental results and user study show that the proposed framework can automatically crop the photo to follow specific composition guidelines, such as the rule of thirds.
