  • Purpose The study aims to develop a data-based decision model for private bankers when recommending hedge funds to their customers in financial institutions. Design/methodology/approach The independent variables are set in two groups. The independent variables of the first group are aggressive investors, active investors, and risk-neutral type investors. In the second group, variables considered by private bankers include customer propensity to invest, reliability, product subscription experience, professionalism, intimacy, and product understanding. A decision-making variable for a private banker is in recommending a first-rate general private fund composed of foreign and domestic FinTech products. These contain dependent variables that include target return rate(%), fund period (months), safeguard existence, underlying asset, and hedge fund name. Findings Based on the research results, there is a 94.4% accuracy in decision-making when the independent variables (customer rating, reliability, intimacy, product subscription experience, professionalism and product understanding) are used according to the following order of relevant dependent variables: step 1 on safeguard existence, step 2 on target return rate, step 3 on fund period, and step 4 on hedge fund name. Next, a 93.7% accuracy is expected when decision-making uses the following order of dependent variables: step 1 on safeguard existence, step 2 on target return rate, step 3 on underlying asset, and step 4 on fund period. In conclusion, a private banker conducts a decision making stage when recommending hedge funds to their customers. When examining a private banker's recommendations of hedge funds to a customer, independent variables influencing dependent variables are intimacy, product comprehension, and product subscription experience according to a categorical regression model and artificial neural network analysis model.

  • This paper focuses on legal risks and risk management affecting foreign religions or foreign religious legal persons in Taiwan. Beginning with an overview of relevant legal norms, types, processes, precautions, other such considerations, the purpose of this paper is to assist foreign religions when they first come to Taiwan for development. The contents of this paper can inform the adoption of a suitable methodology. If foreign religions want to come to Taiwan to develop, there may be several methods for their development: 1. Send Individual Missionaries to preach in Taiwan 2. Send Groups to Preach in Taiwan: 1) specify these groups as temples (or religious groups called "Lingtai (靈臺)"). 2) form civil associations or unincorporated religious groups 3) cases of temples that have not been registered (or specified as "Lingtai") 4) cases of offices and independent property and religious purposes that are not registered with the government or registered as temples (differentiated from item 3) 3. Establishing a research center in Taiwan: When foreign religions have established religious consortia in foreign countries, they can come to Taiwan to set up branches. 4. The establishment of legal persons in Taiwan: These are divided into "school legal persons", "religious corporate legal persons" and "religious consortium legal persons." Each of the above types has a different law applicable to it. This article will introduce the contents of each applicable law and important related matters such as the relevant funds, setting incentive rules for outstanding religious groups, and religious groups applying for foreigners. Due to foreign-related factors in the development and setting up of foreign religions in Taiwan, Act Governing the Choice of Law in Civil Matters Involving Foreign Elements is the parent law for solving conflicts regarding laws and regulations. The spirit of Article 2 and Italian Private International Law, Article 25, Paragraph 1 and so on, adopts the legalism of establishing legal personhood. It is clear that the national law regarding legal persons is the law under which it was incorporated. Therefore, foreign religious legal persons who encounter legal issues in Taiwan fall under the national law, which was established as domestic law. Therefore, internal matters regarding foreign legal persons are also applicable to domestic law.

The transmissions of the two external factors through domestic factors in each ASEAN-3 countries eventually affects Non-Performing Loan (NPL) of commercial banks. This study uses the monthly time series data and the renowned Structural Vector Autoregressive (VAR) model comprising five variables, namely exchange rate, foreign interest rate, domestic interest rate, money supply, and non-performing loan (NPL). The results indicate that there are different effects between ASEAN-3 countries, which can be classified as short-run effect and long-run effect. In the long run effect, external factors have a dominant role in determining NPL in ASEAN-3 countries. Yuan has the biggest effect on Malaysia's NPL, while Indonesia is more affected by European interest rates rather than the fluctuation of the US currency and China's interest rates. Among ASEAN-3 countries, Malaysia is the one that is the most vulnerable to external factors. While Thailand's NPL is affected dominantly by domestic factors. This study shows that the Fed Funds Rate (US official interest rate) is not always the dominant factor affecting the health of domestic banks in ASEAN-3.

  • The rapid growth of the Korean fashion industry has contributed greatly to the establishment of various fashion associations that have appeared since the 1960s. Seoul Fashion Week celebrated its 20th anniversary; there is now a crucial opportunity for the role of Korean fashion associations to the world's top five fashion collections. This study examines and compares the various roles of Korean fashion associations and the fashion associations of France, Italy, USA, and UK. Based on the comparison results, suggestions for the roles of Korean fashion associations are as follows. The following three roles are important in both Korean and foreign associations: stable operation of collections, the creation of various funds to support fashion designers, and foster new designers through linkage with the education programs for textiles and design. Mutual cooperation among various associations is essential to achieve future goals. The specific activities of foreign associations are highly suggestive for direction. In addition to the pursuit of members' rights, it is also desirable to conduct various social activities. It is necessary to create various events that ordinary citizens and students can enjoy in addition to achieving the goal of promoting and selling products at the Seoul Fashion Week. In order to overcome various difficult situations facing Korea and to prepare for a great leap forward for the fashion industry, Korean fashion associations should spare no effort to overcome mutually conflicting interests and understand other perspectives from a macro perspective.
