Analysis for Angle, Center of Mass and Muscle Activity on Good and Bad Motion of the Pirouette in Ballet (발레 삐루엣 동작 수행정도에 따른 각도, 중심변인 및 근활동 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify major factors on pirouette in ballet, and especially angle, Center of Mass(CM) & muscle activity aspects. The data were collected by using Motion Analysis System with 12 cameras to analyze kinematic variables with 120 Hz and Electromyography(EMG; 4,000 Hz) & Force Platform(1,000 Hz) to analyze kinetic variables. The subjects of this study were 8 female ballet dancers. The results as follow. First of all, full extension of knee joint and full plantar flexion of ankle joint appeared at the similar point. Secondly, in the rotational phase, total movement of segments in Good motion is smaller than that of Bad motion(in Good motion, head movement 2.70 cm, right shoulder movement 0.72 cm, left shoulder 4.26 cm, left wrist 17.4 mm smaller than Bad motion). Third, CoP distance of Good motion is 11.76 mm, and CoP distance of Bad motion is 11.76 mm, so Good motion is 5.98 mm smaller). Lastly, Pirouette need more retus femur activity than gastrocnemius activity in extention phase and rotation phase of support leg.

  • CAD/CAM program developers have made substantial progress in enabling engineers to design, analyze, visualize, visualize, and simulate the performance of structures and systems. Many researchers, however, agree that there is still a way to go before the existing commercial computer software can be used in ship structural analysis to their full potential as solvers which can identify opportunities to reduce man-hours and cut costs. CAD systems used for these works in ship yards are general-purposed and not custom-tailored for ship structures, which force end-users to do tiresome and routine works. The new preprocessor "MeshGen" announced in this study can load several ship types and user-friendly generate their FE meshes employing the object-oriented approach based on the parametric and top-down design. Also "MeshGen" reduces dramatically the time required to prepare CAD models under window-based environments on desktop personal computers and makes it much easier and faster for end-users to change topology and material properties.

New Hyperbranched Polyimides and Polyamides: Synthesis, Chain-End Functionalizations, Curing Studies, and Some Physical Properties (새로운 Hyperbranchedpolyimidesandpolyamides: 합성, 말단기 변형, 경화 연구, 그리고 물리적 성질)

  • While aromatic polyimides and polyamides have found widespread use as high performance polymers, the present work addressed the need for organosoluble materials through the use of a hyperbranching scheme. The $AB_2$ monomers were prepared. The $AB_2$ monomers were then polymerized via aromatic fluoride-displacement and Yamazaki reactions to afford the corresponding hydroxyl-terminated hyperbranched polyimides (HT-PAEKI) and amine-terminated hyperbranched polyamides, respectively. HT-FAEKI was then functionalized with allyl and propargyl bromides as well as epichlorohydrin to afford allyl-terminated AT-PAEKI, propargyl-terminated PT-PAEKI, and epoxy (glycidyl)-terminated ET-PAEKI, in that order. All hyperbranched poly(ether-ketone-imide)s were soluble in common organic solvents. AT-PAEKI was blended with a bisphenol-A-based bismaleimide (BFA-BMI) in various weight ratios. Thermal, rheological, and mechanical properties of these blend systems were evaluated. Two characteristic hyperbranched polyamides, which the one has para-electron donating groups to the surface amine groups and the other has para-electron withdrawing groups to the surface amine groups, were selected to compare BMI curing behaviors. The electron rich polymer displayed ordinary Michael addition type exothermic reaction, while electron deficient polymer did display unusual curing behaviors. Based on analytical data, the later system provided the strong evidences to support room temperature curing of BMI by reactive intermediates instead of reactive primary amine groups on the macromolecule surface.

A study on the development of ballast water management-related familiarization training pursuant to the STCW convention

  • The International Convention for the Control and Management of Ships' Ballast Water and Sediments (hereafter "BWM Convention") will be enforced beginning on September 8, 2017. Even though the STCW Convention (International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers) and other international instruments require all ship personnel be qualified under certain competencies and standards, the International Maritime Organization (hereafter "IMO") has no unified requirements for training ship personnel on ballast water management. When the BWM Convention enters into force, all officers and crew on board ships should be intimately familiar with the guidelines and procedures outlined by the BWM Convention, regarding, among other topics, proper record keeping techniques and measures, the layout of the ballast control system, methods of ballast water exchange, and inspections by the port state control. To ensure that officers and crew members are adequately familiar, this paper proposes new competency requirements for ballast water management training and education to be added to the STCW Code. To support the introduction of these new competency requirements, this paper explores the evolution of the BWM Convention and examines how international regulations will be used to implement it.

  • The research related to fault diagnosis in permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSMs) has attracted considerable attention in recent years because various faults such as permanent magnet demagnetization and short-circuited turns can occur and result in unexpected failure of motor related system. Several conventional current and back electromotive force (BEMF) analysis techniques were proposed to detect certain faults in PMSMs; however, they generally deal with a single fault only. On the contrary, cases of multiple faults are common in PMSMs. We propose a fault diagnosis method for PMSMs with single and multiple combined faults. Our method uses three phase BEMF voltages based on the fast Fourier transform (FFT), support vector machine(SVM), and visualization tools for identifying fault types and severities in PMSMs. Principal component analysis (PCA) and t-distributed stochastic neighbor embedding (t-SNE) are used to visualize the high-dimensional data into two-dimensional space. Experimental results show good visualization performance and high classification accuracy to identify fault types and severities for single and multiple faults in PMSMs.

Changes of Lower Limb Joints Stiffness with Gait Speed in Knee Osteoarthritis (무릎 골관절염 환자의 보행속도에 따른 하지 관절 강성 변화)

  • Spring-like leg models have been employed to explain various dynamic characteristics in human walking. However, this leg stiffness model has limitations to represent complex motion of actual human gait, especially the behaviors of each lower limb joint. The purpose of this research was to determine changes of total leg stiffness and lower limb joint stiffness with gait speed in knee osteoarthritis. Joint stiffness defined as the ratio of the joint torque change to the angular displacement change. Eight subjects with knee osteoarthritis participated to this study. The subject walked on a 12 m long and 1 m wide walkway with three sets of four different randomly ordered gait speeds, ranging from their self-selected speed to maximum speed. Kinetic and kinematic data were measured using three force plates and an optical marker system, respectively. Joint torques of lower limb joints calculated by a multi-segment inverse dynamics model. Total leg and each lower limb joint had constant stiffness during single support phase. The leg and hip joint stiffness increased with gait speed. The correlation between knee joint angles and torques had significant changed by the degree of severity of knee osteoarthritis.

Big data has a great potential in the development of smart tourism. With the help of innovation in emerging technologies such as big data and Internet of Things, smart tourism has a better possibility to surpass traditional tourism. Therefore, this article provides a theoretical support to this process. It has explored the innovative management model of big data and IoT in smart tourism and evaluate their effects on promoting tourism. It offers a reference for the integration and innovation of the tourism theory system. Before big data technology, the development of Internet boosted online tourism. However, tourism marketing is still inefficient due to a lack of understanding about tourists. After many practical explorations of big data technology, tourism websites begin to adopt big data technology in their daily operations. With the changes in tourists' preferences and needs, further innovation and research are needed to help smart tourism keep up with the changes in the market and create more competitive products and services. Innovation serves as the driving force for enterprises to occupy the market and develop.

Gait Analysis of Patients with Tumor Prosthesis around the Knee (인공 종양대치물을 이용한 사지구제술후의 보행 분석)

  • Prosthetic replacement is one of the most common methods of reconstruction after resection of malignant tumor around the knee. Gait analysis provides a relative objective data about the gait function of patients with prosthesis. The purpose of this study was to compare the gait pattern of the patients who underwent limb salvage surgery with prosthesis for distal femur and that of patients with prosthesis for proximal tibia. This study included ten patients (4 males, 6 females, mean age 22.7 years, range 14-36) who underwent a wide resection and Kotz hinged modular reconstruction prosthesis replacement and six normal adult(Control). The site of bone tumor was the distal femur (Group 1) in six patients and proximal tibia (Group 2) in 4 patients. The follow-up period ranged from 15 to 82 months (mean : 33 months). The evaluation consisted of clinical assessment, radiographic assessment, gait analysis using VICON 370 Motion Analysis System. The gait analysis included the linear parameters such as, walking velocity, cadence, step length, stride length, stance time, swing time, single support and double support time and the three-dimensional kinematics (joint rotation angle, velocity of joint rotation) of ankle, knee, hip and pelvis in sagittal, coronal and transverse plane. For the kinetic evaluation, the moment of force (unit: Nm/kg) and power (unit: Watt/kg) of ankle, knee and hip joint in sagittal, coronal and transverse plane. In the linear parameters, cadence, velocity, step time and single support were decreased in both group 1 and group 2 compared with control. Double support decreased in group 2 compared with control significantly(p<.05). In contrast to our hypothesis, there was no significant difference between group 1 and group 2. Sports Biomechanical Analysis of Physical Movements on the Basis of the Patterns of the Ready Poses (준비동작의 형태 변화에 따른 신체 움직임의 운동역학적 분석)

  • The purpose of this research is to provide a proper model by analyzing the sports biomechanical of physical movements on the basis of the two patterns(open-stance and cross-stance) at the ready-to-start pose. The subjects for this study are composed of five male handball players from P university and five female shooting players from S university. Three-way moving actions at start(right, left, and forward) are recorded with two high-speed video cameras and measured with two Force platforms and a EMG system. Three-dimensional action analyzer, GRF system, and Whole body reaction movement system are used to figure out the moving mechanisms at the start pose. The analytic results of the moving mechanism at the start pose were as follows. 1. Through examining the three-way moving actions at start, I have found the cross-stance pose is better for the moving speed of body weight balance than the open-stance one. 175 degree of knee joint angle at "take-off" and 172 degree of hip joint angle were best for the start pose. 2. The Support time and GRF data shows that the quickest center of gravity shift was occurred when cross-stanced male subjects started to move toward his lefthand side. The quickest male's average supporting time of left and right foot is 0.19${\pm}$0.07 sec., 0.26${\pm}$0.06sec. respectively. The supporting time difference between two feet is 0.07sec. 3. Through analyzing GRF of moving actions at start pose, I have concluded that more than 1550N are overloaded on one foot at the open-stance start, and the overloaded force may cause physical injury. However, at the cross-stance pose, The GRF are properly dispersed on both feet, and maximum 1350N are loaded on one foot.

Reliability of mortar filling layer void length in in-service ballastless track-bridge system of HSR

  • To study the evaluation standard and control limit of mortar filling layer void length, in this paper, the train sub-model was developed by MATLAB and the track-bridge sub-model considering the mortar filling layer void was established by ANSYS. The two sub-models were assembled into a train-track-bridge coupling dynamic model through the wheel-rail contact relationship, and the validity was corroborated by the coupling dynamic model with the literature model. Considering the randomness of fastening stiffness, mortar elastic modulus, length of mortar filling layer void, and pier settlement, the test points were designed by the Box-Behnken method based on Design-Expert software. The coupled dynamic model was calculated, and the support vector regression (SVR) nonlinear mapping model of the wheel-rail system was established. The learning, prediction, and verification were carried out. Finally, the reliable probability of the amplification coefficient distribution of the response index of the train and structure in different ranges was obtained based on the SVR nonlinear mapping model and Latin hypercube sampling method. The limit of the length of the mortar filling layer void was, thus, obtained. The results show that the SVR nonlinear mapping model developed in this paper has a high fitting accuracy of 0.993, and the computational efficiency is significantly improved by 99.86%. It can be used to calculate the dynamic response of the wheel-rail system. The length of the mortar filling layer void significantly affects the wheel-rail vertical force, wheel weight load reduction ratio, rail vertical displacement, and track plate vertical displacement. The dynamic response of the track structure has a more significant effect on the limit value of the length of the mortar filling layer void than the dynamic response of the vehicle, and the rail vertical displacement is the most obvious. At 250 km/h - 350 km/h train running speed, the limit values of grade I, II, and III of the lengths of the mortar filling layer void are 3.932 m, 4.337 m, and 4.766 m, respectively. The results can provide some reference for the long-term service performance reliability of the ballastless track-bridge system of HRS.
